We tried to sign Shane Sutherland on deadline day in January last year, after we sold George Oakley. However, we didn't get the bid in in time and he'd already signed for Peterhead. He wanted peterhead to cancel his contract so he could play full time but they refused and had half a season there befor emoving back to Elgin on a free in the summer. Jim McInally said that the whole thing unsettled Sutherland and meant this second spell at Peterhead was a write-off.

For those interested in this kind of thing, plenty of ICT videos from the early 2000's now uploaded to YouTube. 15 on there from the 2003-04 championship season up to now but will continue to add to it.

Guarantee the SFA would've had an absolute fit if a game went on in conditions like that these days

Let's put this in perspective, it's just a very small damp patch that's affecting the pitch. If it never rained overnight it would have dried up quickly, aquifer or no aquifer.

Perhaps one day the Aquifer effect will become public knowledge ?

Toshney was considered a real prospect when he was a Celtic youth, and Dundee United paid a transfer fee to sign him shortly after they were relegated. But his time there was wrecked by a serious knee injury. If his fitness is fine he should be an asset - a big centre-back who can also play right-back. I doubt we'd be signing him just for depth though. I think this is a sign that Coll-to-County is imminent.

All these comments on the postponement are pointless until we know the actual reason for pitch being unplayable. Heavy rain forecast for tonight maybe have been a contributory reason for the postponement as well as the distance QOS have to travel.

It's just the nature of our club. We have a small budget, we bring players in on low wages, we improve them, they move on to clubs who can afford bigger wages, we bring more players in on low wages to replace them etc, etc. What we need to get better at is moving players on whilst still under contract and getting something for them.

He may and we do. I have heard a number higher than 14 as well. If his value is reputed to be in the £14m range then accepting less than £2.8m from Celtic would be folly ......

You don't always need something or someone new .... sometimes you just need to appreciate and make best use of whats already available to you. My understanding is that both of these guys have been around in the background for quite a long time and have already made contributions to the club. The difference being that they didn't feel the need to shout it from the rooftops Our current chairman was a fan long before he was a board member and that gives me faith that the current and any forthcoming appointments are more to do with benefitting the club than anything else ... I could not say I had the same confidence in his predecessor.

Underwhelming signing that Shane Sutherland ffs what's wrong with Robbo could throw him in a barrel of strikers he'd come up with a defender! Gotta give him a chance but I think he'll be the latest in a long line of absolute dud strikers Robbos signed (excluding Storey obvs he's been played out of position)
