  1. I wouldn't advocate for anyone at the club just now being manager long term, but it's clear that Dodds has become unpopular with sizeable sections of the fanbase and there are stories coming out that he is also not rubbing along too well with the players. When a fox gets in with the chickens, you don't leave him there because you can't afford to fix the hole in the fence! You get rid and patch it as best you can with what you have in the short term. On that basis, we need to use what we have to get through the rest of the season. From there we can take stock and put longer term solutions in place.

  2. I was told that Ryan Esson has more training tickets than Dodds, Kells and Wilson together, not just goalkeeping but all players, and he’s doing a great job with the under 18s. Could he and Ross Tokely not do a better job between now and the end of the season, given the chance (if they want to), than the aforementioned three. Just a thought!

  3. The only way we could be in truly safe hands given our current predicament would be if we were owned by someone very rich, generous and possessing honourable intentions for ICT. I don’t know any of the Board or major shareholders but I’m pretty sure they would all jump at the chance to step aside and let someone else have a go. Are the current lot doing a good job? Mixed - clearly there are a lot of well documented problems and things that could/should have been done better. On the plus side, we still exist, as a full time club, and have retained the youth setup. Any or all of those 3 core things could easily have gone since relegation, it’s clearly been a struggle to retain them, and it appears to be the case that directors have been putting their own cash in to maintain those things and pay the bills, something that they are not obliged to do. Until I see evidence to the contrary, I am willing to believe that the people involved are doing their best for ICT under very difficult circumstances, but if there are people who could do better I’d love to see them step forward.

  4. In my view our decline started after winning the Scottish Cup. A mass exodus of quality players left us bereft of the talent to sustain our lofty position. Relegation was inevitable. Today's ICT are just not good enough to make a push for promotion. Yes, we've had a wretched amount of luck with injuries etc but surely we have players in the squad who have the pride and determination to at least put in a fighting performance on the park instead of just, what seems like, giving up as the whistle blows for kick off. Our tactics are awful, we have no pace and no 'play maker' to create chances and certainly no one to finish them off when we do. Changes need to happen soonest otherwise we'll be dropping down the leagues and back to our roots.

  5. I have a feeling this could spell the end for our WORST MANAGER EVER so I felt I'd start this thread to see what you guys come up with, of which I hope are serious not fantasy names such as Pep eg. I have a feeling managers like Stuart Kettlewell and Paul Hartley could be in contention and tbh both would get a no from me as my preference would be Barry Robson (which is highly unlikely) or someone else making his debut as a manager. All I can say is, I am giving up until Dudds is GONE because I have had just about enough of this Dross EVERY F****** WEEK !

  6. A dreadfully depressing thread to read but sadly it’s hard to disagree with any of the sentiments. It may often be said but the next two games really are crucial and will define how far we have regressed this season and what we are facing for the rest of it. Next up are Cove, the last team we defeated way back in October - our performance in that game will likely be a clear marker on our declining standards. The following game against Arbroath really worries me. At the moment I can’t see us coming away with anything from that and a loss closes the gap enough to put us in serious jeopardy. Norwich have wisely taken the decision today to ditch a manager that has lost the dressing room and the fans support. It’s the right move down here and would be the right decision at the Longman too. Just put Dodds on gardening leave till his contract expires and hand over the reins to Esson.

  7. I have already suggested sacking or forcing Dudds to resign mutually and placing Esson in caretaker charge for the rest of the season so I'm certainly all for this as he has our under 18s playing well and getting positive results. I'm not so sure on Tokely though but I disagree with @Tree, I doubt he's having to much fun being outplayed by players from Wick, Clach and Rothes etc who make him look so out of his depth .

  8. Merry Christmas to one and all. Whether I know you or not, whether I agree with you or not, the best wishes are the same. Having said that, I do want to take a moment to call out a few folk personally - TM4TJ especially. Without his straight talking editorial style and dedication the site would be a far lesser place. He does this diligently and without any help a lot of the time. Thank You !! Similarly, Gringo, IBM, MrCaleyJag and ICTEWD who run various aspects of the site in the foreground or background. Also, the moderators - Mantis, Yngwie, & RiG who keep things running, keep spammers of our member list, and nudge folks back into line where needed, and finally those on our editorial team who contribute what they can, when they can. It takes quite a few people to keep things ticking over and we are blessed to have a great bunch doing so. Finally, as I take a moment to raise a glass to you all in celebration, I also want to remember those we have lost in 2022. On the site, as we know we lost Kingsmills and he will be sorely missed, and fondly remembered by most, even those who crossed swords with him from time to time. On a personal level, I also lost a dear friend, a dedicated ICT supporter, and my best man, who was definitely someone who fitted that title. I will raise an extra glass to you both.

  9. 3 points out of 24 since mid October. That says it all. This feels much worse than our 11 game winless run last season.

  10. Any match report simply has to focus on the 109 supporters who had to suffer this total embarrassment. Even if 10-20% left before the final whistle which in itself is a rarity and basically sums the whole night up. I did stay until the final whistle just to ensure that I had witnessed the worst ICT performance ever. I usually include comments on the tactics and the formation but I couldn’t suss out who was playing where and what their roles were. The main one to confuse me was Carson as he appeared to be just roaming around the midfield area and rarely where the play was taking place. Welsh meanwhile was the man looking for the ball to be played to him but usually lobbed the ball forward to Billy McKay surrounded by four defenders!! it may be cruel but Ridgers is the biggest miss of the lot. MacKay looks to have lost all his confidence and that evidently affects the defence in front of him. And add to that the system of holding a line is unknown as is pressing the ball. Who scouted Barrett who makes Djebi-Zadi look like Carlos Alberto. Duffy was unfortunate to get a red but probably looked at it as a blessing. Billy McKay tried but he simply looks fed up as does Dan. He intermittently held his hamstring and he must have been hoping that it will keep him out for a few weeks. And why were our players slipping so often and why was Oakley kept on the bench and why were ther more of a smattering of the kids who apparently did us proud at Hamilton. at least Dorran showed glimpses of his old self. I am going to stop as I could go on and on. It is absolutely obvious that Dodds has lost the dressing room and the support. Sure there are injuries but selection and tactics are non existent. We will survive but is that enough ? It may cost to get rid of Dodds and his supporters but a deal has to be done sooner than later as the support will surely dwindle. To me seeing fellow supporters and the social aspect is what will keep me going at the moment. At this time of year Dodds is Ebenezer Scrooge and we need a Jacob Maarley to haunt him as soon as possible OR we will all be stuffed. Merry Christmas to you all - well apart from ??

  11. I think it's not unreasonable to say that was probably the weakest starting XI the club has ever put on the field (recent Hamilton game aside) and I'm including 3rd division days here. A number of these guys are simply not professional footballers, and these are Dodds' signings. 9-1 on aggregate from our two visits to Firhill this season is quite the statistic yet Gardiner and Co. will do nothing. The club is in terminal decline and we need radical change NOW!

  12. We have been truly awful to watch every season since we fell back into the Championship. It is only because of the low quality of other teams that we have not completely fallen away (although we are in great danger of doing that now). No shape, no leaders and no f***ing use. Total clear out at all levels needed.
