Can’t see us taking the full allocation now tbh. Public transport after the game not an option. Buses will be scarce as Celtic supporters will hire buses as well and don’t forget all the cruise ships in Invergordon the buses go there all the time as well. Will either be stop over in Glasgow or own transport which isn’t an option for everyone. Being shafted for another country’s cup final is an absolute disgrace6 points

I was thinking about the Cup Final and how Ryan Christie will no doubt be in demand from broadcasters having played for both clubs in recent years. I then tried to remember who else has played first team football for both clubs - Barry Robson and Mark Brown were the other names that sprung to mind. Knowing that there may well be others I’ve forgotten, I thought I’d get with the times and ask ChatGPT. Here’s the answer!5 points

Having downloaded a ChatGPT app yesterday, I asked it for a poem in the style of William McGonagal about ICT winning the cup final. Within 20 seconds or so, this is what it gave me and I’d say it met the spec pretty well. Enjoy! Oh, listen well, good people all, and hear my tale today Of Inverness Caledonian Thistle's most triumphant play For on the third of June, in Hampden Park so grand They faced the mighty Celtic, the best team in the land The air was thick with tension as the two teams took the field And all across the country, fans were watching, hearts congealed But Inverness Caledonian Thistle had a secret ace His name was Billy Mckay, and he would soon take his place The game began with Celtic on the front foot, full of fire But Inverness Caledonian Thistle would not tire They held their ground, they made their mark, they fought with all their might And then, at last, the moment came, the moment of delight For Billy Mckay, that hero brave, had found his chance at last He scored not once, not twice, but thrice, and all the fans amassed Did cheer and shout and sing his name, as Celtic hung their heads For Inverness Caledonian Thistle had won, and Celtic's hopes were dead Oh, what a day, what a glorious sight, to see the underdog win To see the joy on faces, to hear the mighty din For Inverness Caledonian Thistle had done what none thought they could They'd beaten Celtic fair and square, and proved their mettle good So here's to Billy Mckay, that hero of the hour And here's to Inverness Caledonian Thistle's awesome power For on that famous day in June, they showed us all their might And won the Scottish Cup, a victory oh so bright!5 points

So neither clubs wanted it. Seems they were barely consulted. The majority of the fans seem against it. Debatable if the players like the idea. All this to appease the BBC and Viaplay so they can screen another match from a different country which may still overlap with the SCF. The SFA deserve all the pelters they are getting for this pathetic decision.3 points

I get what you are saying but.... I never thought I'd see ICT in a SC final so soon after the last time. So I will be there even if at midnight on the moon!!3 points

Of course, Celtic fans would argue that they have 50,000 season ticket holders and several thousand on a waiting list, so why should they miss out on a final and the opportunity for the Treble just so that thousands of ICT "fans" who rarely if ever make the effort to go to games can attend? I have some sympathy for that argument, but on the other hand, Celtic have these big occasions as a matter of course and fans get lots of opportunities to apply for tickets. For small clubs like ours, these occasions are a very rare so fans should be given a realistic opportunity to buy tickets as many will never get the chance again. Also, the game is supposed to take place on a level playing field, so to speak, which is why it is held in a neutral venue. There should be the opportunity for both sets of players to be roared on by an equal number of fans, otherwise, one side is given an advantage. We should, therefore be given the opportunity to sell as many tickets as we can, but it would have to be on the basis that we would have to return unsold blocks of tickets if we haven't sold them within a defined timeframe.3 points

I will still be going, as people say you don't get these opportunities for finals often but it just makes things , travel etc more tricky to arrange2 points

The club’s statement, also indicating we may get ticket news tomorrow: https://ictfc.com/club-statement-scottish-cup-final/ I fully understand the comments above but I’m definitely going. Who’d have thought when we “lost” to Queens Park on 31 January that we’d be at Hampden on 3 June for our second Scottish Cup final in eight years! I also think it is time for the small number of negative posters on here to recognise the (albeit unexpected) achievement and be more positive in their posts. Yes, they may want a change of Manager or in the Boardroom, but now is a time to enjoy the moment. Goodness knows when it may happen again. That said, we must focus on Friday and get the win we need to get into the play offs.2 points

Puts me off a bit going to the game now, as a woman probably going by myself to the match, I don't drive so transport harder for me, lots of drinking time for Celtic supporters, don't mind that but if they are in the ICT end that puts me off and a mad kick off time it's put a bit of a dampener on the final now2 points
-
With Celtic having such a huge support, that is probably an issue regardless of what our allocation is. It needs Celtic to warn supporters that if they are found to have bought a ticket from our allocation, they will be banned from Celtic games next season and, if they are a ST holder, removed from the ST list.2 points

I think we've got to be realistic re ticket allocation? It wouldn't be fair being offered half given our average crowd and Celtics? The danger is Highland bases Celtic fans will try to buy up ours? I assume the club will be on this and have a plan. Personally think 10k realistic. It's not like last time when we were hit favourites to win.2 points

What we don’t want though is for Celtic fans to be buying tickets from ICT for our section because they are easily available after their own allocation sells out quickly, so it does make sense for the allocations to be realistic.2 points

Utter disrespect if the SFA move the final away from the traditional 3 pm ko time. They should be told to GTF.2 points

After a few minutes to take this in, I am seriously considering not going. Maybe we could all not go as a protest. Celtic could have the entire ticket allocation, we could attend/hire venues in Inverness to see the game and save a fortune, but the club would still get half the gate money. The club and team would understand that our protest had nothing to do with our hopes for them, but everything to do with our club being treated like sh*t. We could post lots of positivity before the game for the team, encourage local shops and businesses to put up displays and use the press to give a voice to our rage.1 point

As RIG alluded to earlier this is as much if not more to do with BBC as Viaplay.1 point

Why would Celtic care or want to help Caley on the day! If they have a few thousand tic fans in the ICT end that helps their cause on the day (god knows they have enough of an advantage)! Wallpaper talk of Celtic telling their fans to not buy ICT tickets is for the gullible. The Green Brigade heed their every word!! The reality is highland ‘tic’ fans will be buying up our tickets. On one of the last Celtic matches in Inverness it was when we scored I found out I had to look round for another ICT fan to celebrate with (another row up). The rest around me in the north stand were stone silent. I’ll throw in another direct link - Charlie bhoy Christie makes no apology in declaring where his loyalist are! You could call him Celtic's (free) highland youth coach and eyes. Wonder how many ICT tickets he gets for his group of mates. At the end of the day it simply comes down to money. The board simply will flog as many tickets they can get their hands on to any one that will pay for them! Our average attendance for the past few seasons is kicking around 2250. Any allocation over 5000 is the SFA being benevolent to our board!1 point

An absolutely nice guy who always seeks to give his best. The statistics do not show how many taxi rides he has given to Danny Devine.....https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/65427032 Let us not forget that Aaron created our opening goal in the winning cup final.1 point

Shocking if true. We should get at least the 14000 we sold last time with some being returned if not sold within x days of the match.1 point

The S*n is reporting we're being offered 8,000 tickets, with the possibility of 10,000 if we sell the initial allocation. Terribly generous of the SFA even letting us attend at all. Also extremely professional of them leaking the news on kick-off time and allocation to the gutter press rather than through official channels. People seem genuinely surprised by the way we're treated. Entirely par for the course I would suggest.1 point
