Well the last game I attended (Morton away) left me speechless but the performance today led to the first smileymometer in a long time. We passed the ballell and rarely backwards - there was only the rare mistake - Ridgers was commanding, made a number of saves including a worldy - the defence held a steady line - there was movement a plenty - we pressed well - we had individual players taking on different roles - the passion and energy was only too clear. The "negatives" were that we were lacking in that final touch on a number of occasions, we didn't take on defenders and hit the bye line enough and we still employ the high balls to McKay & co too much. But as it was at Ayr away it was a good day at the races Ridgers Two big stops early doors and looked the part throughout. Duffy Dodgy start but rarely caught out thereafter. Devine Appeared to be the main organiser at the back and commanding in the air. Boyes Looked knackered in the first ten minutes but evidently that is him. 2 goals and a foil to Devine - enuff said. MOM Harper Did have a real challenge with Chalmers and the equally effective right back but stood up to the challenge. Carson Welcome back Dave - 100% in all aspects including cheerleading Welsh a performance recalling older days. Stay free of energy mate. Gilmour Second fiddle to Welsh but did the midfield hard work. Anderson Started up front but looked a bit lost at times but much better when withdrawn back. Shaw Thought that he put in a great shift and popped up all over the place. If only he had a right foot. McKay Took his time to knock in the goal but he is now Mr. ICT. Special mention to Mrs IHE for attending as she has actually never seen ICT yet beat8 points

I seem to recall it was a deliberate decision to have the names of Thistle and Caledonian in a different order in the Club and team names. This was an attempt to show that both of the former clubs were of equal importance to the new club. The team is simply a brand of the club and therefore doesn't need to be the same. Now that the club is running the women's team, they are another brand of the club. The women's team could have been called Highland women and still been an integral part of the club without any of the names "Inverness", "Thistle" or "Caledonian" being in the team's name.3 points

No sign of this incumbent leaving. We remain at full throttle heading down the 'Highway to Hell' with him at the helm.2 points

Thanks for the detailed comments. I was out today after kick off and unable to check my phone as it pinged with each goal as I’d have been thumped by my better half for being rude in company, so imagine my delight to see we’d won 3-1 rather than being on the end of a beating. It really sounds as though we’ve stepped up on performance, but we still need to get our shooting boots on when close to goal. I’m pleased for Harper creating two goals. That can only help him grow in confidence. Maybe 3 at the back works for us after all, at least away from home. As Satan said, a strange set of results today. United will be smarting after getting beaten at home but we’ve already matched them this season and with the cameras in town it’s time to put in a brilliant home performance. Well done guys!2 points

I am happy with the result today sounds like we took our chances for a change. A lot to build on and after Dundee Utd loosing today gives us hope for something next week!2 points

Well done boys a good 3 points away at Ayr and we'll done the 109 travelling support.I thought if we got a point today and in our next two games we couldn't complain, but right now I would take 5 out of possible nine points which eould obviously be better. If only Logan Chalmers still played for us.He was a threat all day. Some nice balls in from Harper, but we never have players on the end of them.Could have easily had another two goals today.Big game Friday now especially with United losing today. I still think if we are in about the opposition box we should try shooting more, instead of trying to walk the ball into the net. Notwithstanding all that overall a good win. The 3 goals in last nights queens v Dunfermline game were guys having a pop at goal. 2nd QP goal was a “ shoooot” moment that took a wicked deflection over the goalkeeper. Duncs pre match interviews saying he has GOOD players and a GOOD team. Strange thing to say given recent results and our league position.2 points

Why the need to change it? Plenty of companies are registered under names which are mostly or wholly unrelated to their trading names or brands.2 points

Toxic presence at every club he’s worked at. Should have been sacked for the concert fiasco alone.1 point

True though. From what I have heard he is as unpopular inside the club as he is with the fans.1 point

A very poor December for us with only one away win against Queens Park 1-4, a 1-1 draw against Partick and 0-0 draw with Morton. Three 2-1 defeats by Raith, Morton and Arbroath giving us five points from six games. The winner for December is Billy Mckay with David Wotherspoon second and Max Anderson third. A big change after the six games in the PotY standings. The leader is still Nathan Shaw, second Billy Mckay and third equal David Wotherspoon & Nikolay Ujdur. Keith Bray and Aaron Doran are not far behind, with Aaron back from injury could get more points and if Keith could get a game he could also make an impact! Will David Wotherspoon still be with us by the end of the month and still in the running? Lots to play for in the next four months I hope we can pick up form and thanks to all that have voted and if you haven't have a go.1 point

Winning without Wotherspoon, a big plus Carson back helpful too A new striker in January please1 point

At least some respite for the club today. Davie Carson certainly makes a difference and hopefully Sean is making progress too after a long spell of injuries. With the exception of the two loanees this was basically 9 players from last year's squad (until the two subs when we were 3-1 up). So hope the players start believing in themselves. Morton going like a train up this league.1 point

Some set of results, starting last night. If this continues we will be fighting for relegation and playoffs on the final day.1 point

Caledonian Thistle comes off the tongue better than Thistle Caledonian. But I wouldn't be surprised if Jock McDonald was behind the ordering in the company name!1 point

Queens Park winning last night increases the importance of Ayr getting a positive result too!!! If we lose there will be questions about the competence of the new management team.1 point

Hi Hearach Admittedly it’s been many years since I travelled on the supporters bus maybe late late 90’s early 20’s. From memory numerous blue rinses and some hairy legged men hating feminists thrown into the mix. It was quite intimating at first but the atmosphere lightened when the shortbread came out. Enjoy the cup cakes on Saturday. Dougal1 point

We should be fine so long as we don't accidentally send out the men's team.1 point

It finished Queens Park 2-1 Dunfermline. It simply increases the importance of us getting a positive result tomorrow.1 point

Best of luck to them, it’s a very exciting opportunity to play against a top pro side. Realistically though, is the score going to get into double figures before Rangers hopefully ease off in the second half?1 point

Good to see the Manager and one of the players interviewed on Reporting Scotland who featured Sunday’s game against Rangers in the Cup. It will be a tough game for them with Rangers one of the top three teams and two leagues above us. Hopefully they attract a good crowd. Admission is by donation. Inverness Caledonian Thistle Women will face a somewhat different challenge this weekend – hosting Dutch outfit Leeuwarder Zwaluwen. The match will take place at the Highland Football Academy in Dingwall due to pitch availability, kicking off at noon on Sunday. It has come about thanks to a connection through Caley Jags defender Janina Morgan, who is half-Dutch and has connections with the north second tier outfit – step five of the overall Dutch women's football pyramid.1 point
