I'm reasonably confident this deal will end up on its arse. The only issue is if it drags on to the very last minute before it does. Then we run out of cash... Administration then looking likely, which might please some shareholders more than others. 🤔

That's a very helpful post, but we don't know that the larger shareholders are just walking on by. If I had a sizeable shareholding I don't think I would be too keen to see my voting stake effectively wiped out by the club engineering control of the club through a majority shareholding for someone who has no connection with Inverness and who nobody has heard of before. Significant shareholders may well have been privately challenging what has been going on but are not wanting to do so in the glare of the press. Remember too that the club had previously said that there were a number of prospective investors. This was why they gave Makwana a deadline to provide more details about his offer. It wouldn't surprise me at all if there was some significant activity behind the scenes trying to secure a more local and believable solution to the club's current financial plight. As for us small shareholders who know next to nothing about company law and do not have significant funds at our disposal, there is precious little we can do other than express our concerns and hope for the best.
  3. I'd imagine Cammy Mckay might have stayed if he had thought that was an option too?
  4. Not now no but there was a certain Mark Ridgers who was available but the club decided not to bother speaking to put of contract players. When queried about Ridgers specifically the club then lied and said they'd been in discussions with his agent. And it definitely wasn't an issue of rating Ridgers there were other (petty) issues for not renewing his deal from the club.
  5. So much for accommodation costs being an issue for signing players.

In the crazy world of Scottish football, Murray gets sacked while Ferguson still has a job!

If shareholdings of 5% + can call a general meeting, I guess they are keeping their powder dry. That's understandable. S7V still have to be afforded time to "pay up or shut up" as it's known, under the offer's terms. The only caveat there is an indefinite timetable, in which the 'pay up' date can be postponed by panel (ICT) and S7V if both so wish. If those larger shareholders, who are not under the S7V 'target' umbrella, are committed to seeing that ICTs directors comply with their general duty to exercise reasonable care, skill and diligence, especially on the "pay up or shut up" timeline and CEO resignation, then that's great. I do think Alan Savage deserves immense credit for his stance, but this was not meant as a dig at other larger non-S7V-target shareholders. Just the dawning realisation that those not under the S7V/Panos & Gardiner umbrella are the only realistic agents of change and our last hope.
  8. I think it's already been captured in this topic, but here is the CTO report of yesterdays draw with Dumbarton.
  9. Jimmy Calder is still available...

Can’t help but notice IHE started up this thread on April 1st ! 🧐
  11. I’ve seen him play, Luncarty v Bo’ness in the Scottish Cup last season. Didn’t have a lot to do but made a couple of decent saves when called upon. I think Mantis will know more about him as he had previously played for Whitehill.

I agree! The fans have next to ZIP influence on how the club is manipulated by speculators who have no interest whatsoever in the football club other than a mechanism to a land grab of the surrounding area for development (with us indirectly funding it through grants). It’s the sell-on in two or three years after all possible money has been squeezed out of the Council, Scottish Gov and locals to some Thames Water type sharks that I fear we may head. However, whilst there is little we can do but watch, (since there is no appetite for a protest), we must continue to push the Press, Coonsil, Supporters Trust (?) to seriously and vigorously prob challenging questions to S7V. Additionally send out the message to any serious shareholder or potential investors looking on, ‘the fans will be ready to unite and return’ if and when the S7V scheme comes crashing down, to a plan with the interest of the football club at its centre.
  13. The trialist goalie is Musa Dibaga, formerly at Bo’ness United.

Really hoped to see something different today - some youthful enthusiasm and a bit of urgency about the play. Up and at 'em. Nope!

You misunderstood me. I meant that I had asked Makwana if he planned to show up today and he said no. So, when the previous poster asked if he was going to show up, that's what my post was in reference to, not myself.
  16. Game of Two Halves A rousing round of applause rang out from the crowd on the sixth minute in appreciation of the dedication of John Mackenzie, AKA the Immortal Howden Ender who sadly passed away last week. A fitting tribute as cheering and clapping broke out around the ground and one in which he would have loved to have led the way. Rest in Peace my well travelled friend. You would have enjoyed the first half. The second I'm sure you would have had some choice words for in your aftermatch summary. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It was the proverbial game of two halves. Inverness were miles ahead in the first half and rubbish after the break. Plenty of possession and slick movement with new signings Flynn Duffy and Adam Mackinnon prominent in attacking moves. Charlie Gilmour brought out a tremendous reflex save from keeper Long, however most of the good work petered out when we got into the final third but we took the lead on the stroke of half time when Danny Devine sneaked in behind the defence to nod in unchallenged at the back post from a corner. Hey ho we all thought, lifes not so bad after all. Wrong!!! We allowed Dumbarton to dominate the next half hour and they deservedly levelled through Carlo Pignatiello as we seemed to go back into our shell. Niang was booked a second time for persistent fouling and reluctantly left the field when he was red carded. Billy Mckay cracked one off the bar and Charlie Gilmour and Remi Savage were denied by the keeper but it was a bit of an anti climax after a promising first half. Jack Newman also had to make a good save five minutes from the end to keep the score level when he denied Mumbongo. FULL TIME: 1-1 Flynn Duffy and Adam Mackinnon ran the show in the first half but we were strangely subdued after the break and got what we deserved. We reverted to sideways and backward passing and one can only assume the players were under orders to hold onto the ball rather than look for more, especially once Dumbarton were reduced to ten men. We really need our senior players to lead by example, but the likes of Longsraff and Mckay were not at the races today. This League should be the catalyst for Longstaff to take on defenders. Sadly he was guilty of backwards thinking instead. It was a mirror image of the League Cup game against Bonnyrigg. Three up at the break then absolutely nothing after the interval and playing second fiddle. The trialist keeper for Inverness was believed to be twenty-four year old Spaniard Musa Dibaga who has previously been at Whitehill Welfare and Boness United. Robert on CTO summarised thus: I thought we were pretty good in the first half and deserved to lead, and it could have been more if players had seen the runs on the shoulder Brooks was making. Gilmour came very close but the goalie somehow kept it out. We didn’t turn up after the break until we’d conceded, then we woke up a bit but couldn’t get a goal, Mckay coming closest when he hit the bar, and both goalies pulled off good saves late on. We also had a clear penalty turned down, with everyone seeing the handball apart from the officials. It was really a repeat of last season. Plenty possession but lacking the cutting instinct and taking the safe option too often. MacKinnon looked good and Duffy had a decent first half but faded after the break. He should have been subbed at the same time as MacKinnon. I’d like to think we will at least be competitive in this league, but we need to be more clinical than we were today. 17. Scratch team ????? That was our strongest starting 11!
  18. Did ok for the scratch team we put out. Lost our way in the second half a wee bit, but give the players some time to at least find their feet. First 45 we played some good stuff.
  19. The issue with Longstaff is he is very left footed. We are playing him in central midfield so his one footedness means he nearly always plays it left or back. Several times today he could have played telling balls to Bray in forward positions if he could use his right foot. I feel we need to switch to 4 4 2 and have two proper wide players, one being Longstaff. Gilmour is tending to sit quite deep so a back 4 rather than our current 3/5 would work and get the best out of our squad. In his defence, he did make a few off the ball runs in the first half which the players in possession didn’t see. And the assist for our goal with his back post corner. As STFU says, Mckay is following Ferguson’s wishes, but he did come very close when he hit the bar.

Time for another Wyness Shuffle podcast inviting Mr Makwana to a no holds barred interview. Do it lads!

I have been wondering if our young team can last the full 90 minutes. Was going to say that it doesn't bode well for when the pitches become heavier during the winter. But then I remembered that 8 out of the 10 are artificial. So maybe it'll be another season when our away results are better than our home results...
