  1. Watched the game on Alba. Wish I hadn't. Awful to watch. Sloppy all over the pitch. It's going to take a monumental effort by Kells to get these players motivated for the final games of the season. Bouncing back from that performance to beat Stenny is not going to be easy. Lose that then we have to feel it's all over. We really do need to avoid the play offs.
  2. I was surprised when Sole came off the pitch - I hadn't realised he'd been on it.
  3. It's a sad day when the highlight of our weekend was County getting pumped 0-4 in a six pointer relegation battle. ☹️
  4. High percentage of our passing today either missed the intended target or was intercepted with costly repercussions. Players off form or the tombola selection preventing vital partnerships developing? Who knows, a poor performance to go with the terrible (but justified) result. We don't have the time for an extended period of navel gazing. This needs to be put behind us quickly, time to focus on the week ahead.
  5. I don't care if the grass is wet. The mood I was in when I went out, I would have got down on my knees and chewed the grass short myself! I had a tidy of the shed instead - it felt good to throw some crap around for a bit!

  8. KDM TROPHY FINAL WOE The KDM TROPHY Final would be played out at the Wyre Stadium, Firhill, with Championship side Raith Rovers facing League1 Inverness CT. Both sides had won the Challenge Cup three times. Both sides shared the win in season 2020/21 when it was the Tunnocks Caramel Wafer Trophy with Covid preventing the final from going ahead. So today it's the Harry Hill way to sort it out 'FIGHT'. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After the 'FIGHT' it was a record fourth Challenge Cup win for Rovers. They'll be dancing in the streets of Raith tonight. Bless them! A defensive error allowed Rovers to take the lead through Innes Cameron but that strike was cancelled out by a superb free kick from Alfie Stewart ten minutes before the break in a relatively even first forty-five. Ten minutes into the second half Cameron scored his second after a free kick was put into the six yard box. Raith were now on top and Dylan Easton hammered in a third on the hour following us giving the ball away in midfield. An exact replica goal from Easton again gifted Rovers a fourth and the game was beyond Inverness now. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Alfie Stewart got the game underway in bright sunshine. It was ten minutes in before the first half chance appeared when a long ball forward fell for Innes Cameron but his attempted flick goalwards was wide of the mark. A good burst forward by Jordan Alonge ended with a wayward pass to Liam Sole who has yet to get into the game. First save of the game arrived when Mullin brought Ross Munro into action with a shot from inside the box. Minutes later he had to pluck a deflected shot out of the air and right on the goal line. First good attack from the Caley Jags saw Sole drift forward and an interchange with Paul Allan but it was cut out for a throw in opposite the Rovers box. Munro saved comfortably midway through the half but it was Raith that were looking the busier. A long range snapshot from Sole almost surprised Josh Rae in goal but he grasped it at the second attempt. Out of nothing we gifted Raith Rovers the opening goal when Mitchell Robertson's short pass to Alfie Stewart was miscontrolled by the midfielder and Innes Cameron stepped in to knock the ball past a stranded Munro. A massively avoidable goal to lose and hugely disappointing. Inverness responded and an attempt from Sole was deflected high into the air as Zimba and Rae clashed in the six yard box. Minutes later, Alonge was brought down on the edge of the box and Alfie Stewart atoned for his earlier mistake to curl a beauty round the four man wall and into the bottom corner from 25 yards, and boy did he like that one! Much better from the Highlanders since the equaliser and they were now forcing the play and the half ended with the Caley Jags on top. HALF TIME: 1-1 First moment of the second half saw Zimba booked for catching Cameron late outside our box. From the free kick into the box Cameron knocked in from close range amongst a ruck of people. Not bad after almost looking for a stretcher two minutes earlier. It looks like game over minutes later when after giving the ball away on the left midfield, Rovers moved swiftly into the box where Easton lashed the ball high into the net from fifteen yards on the left side. Looking suspiciously like a foul for us, Easton added a fourth from the same spot after we gave the ball away for the third assist to Rovers. After that everything was flat with a number of subs disrupting play. FULL TIME: 4-1 More Match Reaction to follow Inverness were the architects of their own downfall with some slack passing and poor ball retention. However, it's congratulations to Raith Rovers on their fourth Challenge Cup win and back to concentrate solely on League1 business for us over the next Month. Two goals each for the danger men Innes Cameron and Dylan Easton were the difference with Inverness getting three assists. Unfortunately the assists were for Raith Rovers. Take nothing away from the goal scorers, they finished with aplomb, but it's criminal to keep presenting them with the opportunities. Players of that quality don't need a helping hand. One plus was a super free kick for Alfie Stewart. Difficult to find an Inverness player to pick as our MotM with too many posted missing and making punished errors. We certainly missed Danny Devine at the back but errors were being made all over the park. Disappointing second half after we ended the first on the front foot. It's a massive week coming up for the manager who will have to lift the players for the six pointer away to Stenhousemuir next week and a difficult away fixture at Peterhead three days later. It's in our own hands, but we need to believe in ourselves and stop showing so much respect for teams that have still to earn that respect. Highlights from Raith TV. We are still searching for our highlights Congratulations to Dougie in what has been a difficult year for him Date: 05/04/2026 Venue: Firhill, Glasgow Attendance: 4812 Referee: Ryan Lee Raith Rovers: 4 Manager: Dougie Imrie Lineup: Rae; Rowe, Fordyce, O'Connor, Stevenson, Easton (Wilson 79), Montagu (Brown 59), Mathews, Mullin (Chin 71), Nsio (Vaughan 71), Cameron (Hamilton 79) Subs (not used): Glavin; Scorers: Cameron (29, 54), Easton (60, 69) Booked: Rowe (77), Brown (90) Sent Off: none Inverness CT: 1 Manager: Scott Kellacher Lineup: Munro; Millen, Robertson, Savage, MacIntyre, Sole (Wotherspoon 77), Alonge (MacLeod 77), Chalmers (Bavidge 66), Stewart (MacKinnon 77), Allan, Zimba (Longstaff 66) Subs (not used): Ross; Clark, Brannan, Willox Scorers: Stewart (37) Booked: Zimba (53) Sent Off: none
  9. Funny how Zimba plays against the world’s best then looks out of his depth against Raith Rovers. Must be the jet lag!
  10. Frustrating watch, just sloppy all round and mistakes were punished. If we were going to persist with playing out from defense then I feel Alonge and Zimba shouldn't have come off sooner as they struggled to get into the game. Could have done with an extra experienced head on the pitch for the game. For all the fuss we made signing Witherspoon in the summer, don't feel like he's played much and is a bit wasted.
  11. Congratulations to Raith Rovers. Deserved winners. Bossed the match from the outset. Not a competition that gets me excited, however wanted ICT to win today. I don’t know what affected our boys today but they appeared subdued or overwhelmed by the occasion. Never really a threat and the defence looked at unease with the big lad Cameron. Take the 100K and get back up the A9. bc
  12. Watching on tv, I felt we showed them too much respect early on and struggled to settle. Credit to Alfie Stewart for redeeming himself after his slackness contributed to Raith’s goal. A first half of two halves. Raith bossed the early stages but we’ve grown into it and finished the half on top. All to play for, but we need to cut out the slack passes.

In the play offs, it’s two semis then a final. 9th plays 4th with the 9th placed team at home in the second league. 2nd plays 3rd with the 2nd placed team at home in the second leg. In the final, the winner of the semi involving the 9th placed team is at home in the second leg.

  15. I blame everything on Stenhousemuir. That aside, we did remarkably well to get to this Cup Final.
  16. Thing is Cameron’s physicality is what we will most likely come up against with most teams if we achieve promotion (and there has to be a degree of uncertainty about that just now). We had our ‘big’ forwards in Zimba and Alonge on the park today. It will take a couple of days to make a sensible assessment of today’s defeat (ie game plan / tactics). A difference for me (on first impressions) was our service to our forwards was poor to non existent for the most. - They had to fall deep to get any possession, as such their strengths (not running) went most unused. Raith to the contrary used the large amount of space we afforded them (by sitting too far back) to get their ball players to put pressure on our defence. Mistakes happen to the best of players. AlfieS is one of our top players IMO, but today it just didn’t work for him. (Just unlucky for an off-day to occur). We certainly missed Danny at CH. Remi is a (VG) sweeper. But he needs a large CH in front of him to be effective. We suffered I feel today not having that bulk. The match and cup run is now done and history. We have too much to look ahead to feel sorry for ourselves. Move on and prepare for the Stenny match. bc
  17. So disappointing. Thought Wotherspoon did more than Sole and Alonge put together in the small amount of time he was on. Seemed very self-inflicted, and hope it doesn't affect us going forward. Talking of which, does someone want to tell Joe Chalmers which direction we play in - every move was backwards!
  18. Disappointed that we let a lumbering donkey score twice against us, he must’ve thought it was Christmas. Can’t remember us being up against such a slow forward in recent years.
  19. The only good thing about that second half is that it saved us from unwanted extra time.
  20. I feel we could have done without the distraction of this cup, pretty sure it hasn’t helped with the concentration needed to finish this season as champions. Silver lining is, I suppose, the 100k runners up prize money but I worry that the whole episode will dent confidence before the real cup final against Stenny.
  21. A chastening second half. Can’t make mistakes like that against full time sides and get away with it.
  22. Tongue in cheek, where on earth are you 😂😂?? My grass is soaking and will take time to recover from last night’s snow as I cut it on Thursday, which now seems a big mistake. The squad needs to put today behind them and focus on five more cup finals in the league. It is also a message that, whilst we saw off Partick and Ayr, we’ve a way to go if we do go up.
  23. Please take Alonge off, and put on a fooballer. And keep reminding the back four and midfield which direction they're playing in. We're lucky to still be in this match... but as Robert said, there's all to play for!

Was up at Coonty - Airdrie game today and whilst not last chance saloon, it was a key game for both clubs. Contrary to the last game I seen (RC 2 - DF 2), County simply weren’t at the races and Airdrie were a deserved 3 goals to the better at HT. With a few player changes County had the better of second half but really didn’t test the Airdrie goal keeper. The RC ‘goal’ was clearly offside. Have to say i thought Airdrie were ahead in just about every aspect of the game ie skill, game plan, passing and attitude. Based on what I seen from them today I’m surprised they are in the relegation scrap. What does this mean to us (ICTFC). Time is running out for RC to avoid automatic relegation. They need other teams to slip up to give them a chance of getting into a playoff place. If we, ICTFC end up finishing behind Stenny in 9th place, then my preference is it’s RC we’ll play if we avoid elimination of the winners of the Alloa -QoTS playoffs. bc
  26. 🏆 KDM TROPHY FINAL 🏆 It's been a long slog but we have battled our way through to the final of the KDM Trophy where we will face Raith Rovers at the neutral venue of Firhill in Glasgow. It's been quite a journey since we played our first Challenge Cup game at Elgin back on the 12th of August last year. Eight months and another ten games later we will face-off against Championship side Raith Rovers in the final. It's been some journey and we are unbeaten up to the final having won all ten matches so far scoring a total of 41 goals and conceding 8, eliminating two Championship sides in Partick Thistle and Ayr United, won a penalty shoot-out, had one game postponed, scored a club record nine goals in a mismatch against Dumbarton, beaten League1 rivals Stenhousemuir and had Alfie Bavidge knocking in four in one game. Who ever said it was a Mickey Mouse Cup? It certainly caught the eye more once the knock-out stages started with the introduction of the Championship sides and we are now on our way to our sixth final. We lost our first in a dramatic penalty kick defeat to Alloa Athletic back in season 99/2000. In 03/04 we beat Airdrie 2-0 and in 09/10 we let a two goal lead slip against Dundee to lose out in an entertaining five goal final. We returned to the final in 17/18 to defeat Dumbarton 1-0 with a late Carl Tremarco goal when extra time looked likely and the 19/20 final was shelved due to the covid crisis where we were to play Sunday's opponents Raith Rovers. The trophy was shared then, so this weekend we can play for the right to get our hands on the trophy legitimately. This will be Raith Rovers fifth appearance in the final having won it three times. They have reached the final in four of the last six seasons it has been contested, the tournament being cancelled in season 2020/21. Their last two KDM fixtures to get to the final saw them eliminate Championship sides Queens Park and Airdrie in penalty kick shoot-outs. 💰 There's £150,000 up for grabs if you win and a not too shabby £100,000 for the runners-up. 💰 🤑 Either way, that's a lot of dosh 🤑 Chanka Zimba is suspended, but it transpires that his suspension is for League games only, therefore he will be eligible to play on Sunday but will miss the League game at Stenhousemuir. However, he was on International duty for Zambia against Argentina on April 1st. Lionel Messi shared the same pitch with Chanka for half an hour in Buenos Aires. Trust me, it was a real thing, not AI and not an April Fool. Well done to Chanka for getting recognition after a good season at the Caley Jags. A great achievement to go from an early bath at Recreation Park Alloa to the Estadio Alberto J Armando in Buenos Aires, a stadium capable of 50,000 plus crowds. A feat that will never ever be replicated. Memories made for life! Back home, Liam Sole is free from suspension and will be available should he now be injury free. Danny Devine missed out last week through injury and another two or three were possibly carrying knocks. We will also need to keep an eye on the game at Ochilview with Stenhousemuir hosting Hamilton Accies as the run in for the League1 title gets serious. Chanka Zimba appears to be free to play on Sunday but will miss the crunch title match at Stenhousemuir. Hopefully Liam Sole and Danny Devine will be fit and maybe we can have our best right back this season in Calum MacLeod starting. It's no use sitting in for ninety minutes against Raith Rovers and then wondering what if! We need to be clinical and pacey, not sloppy and pedestrian. In our favour, we are at our best when we are underdogs!!! Raith Rovers last squad out in a comfortable 3-0 win over Ayr United who have since sacked Scott Brown. Surely it's not that embarrassing losing to Rovers A brace from Innes Cameron and one from Richard Chin sealed Broon's fate. Rovers have had a disappointing season by their own high standards and sit just outside the top four. Dougie Imrie is now the boss having taken over from Barry Robson in November. In season 2013/14 they beat Rangers by a solitary goal in the Ramsden Cup. Former Caley Jag John Baird scored the winner at Easter Road in front of almost 20,000. Having shared the Tunnocks Caramel Wafer Trophy in 2019/20 with the Caley Jags; one for you and one for me, they then won it two seasons later when they beat Queen of the South 3-1 at the Excelsior Stadium with two headed goals from Matej Poplatnik and a strike from Ethan Ross. It was then known as the SPFL Trust Trophy. In Season 2022/23 they lost out in the final 1-0 to Hamilton Accies when it was still the SPFL Trust Trophy, with Reghan Tumilty the scorer. That brings us up to date where they play the Caley Jags at Firhill on Sunday 5th April. 27. Why oh why is this thread being discussed when we have a league to win? All it serves to do is to introduce negative comments at a time we don’t need them. It would be better to close it and reopen once the season is by with. Some folk just can’t see the bigger picture.
  28. Utter *****. I'm off to mow the grass. Sorry Kells but you got things horribly wrong today. Alonge was lost, Sol did nothing, Those are the two who should have been off at half-time. Takes over an hour to make a change at 2-1. Spoonie would have been on earlier if it were me. We needed that older head to boss things out the middle of the park. Bavs should have been on from the start not Alonge. 4-1 down with 3 of their goals being gifts. If we turn up like that on Saturday then the playoffs is as good as it gets. You need to get a grip Kells ... and fast!
