  1. Think I'll just add to the general praise - we. were. awesome. There are a few questions marks though - such as... Which goal was more awesome, McCann's 30 yard screamer into the top corner, or Duncan's audacious lobbed volley (I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it)? Has to be Duncans....the way he swung his foot at the ball it should have gone skywards Has anyone got a superlative that sufficiently describes just how well Adam Rooney played? Fandabbydosy Will people stop slagging off Eric Odihambo now after that sensational performance? Yes Is Lee Cox the Duracell Bunny in disguise? Seriously, the guy was still running full pelt in the 92nd minute. Disguise isn't working How on earth is Garry Kenneth a Scotland international? Slept with Levien? What did Ryan Esson do to relieve the boredom? Played noughts and crosses on the worn bit of grass in front of him How good will we be with Rossco and Richie Foran back in the team? How good is sex first thing in the morning? Could Terry's cheesy grin have been any wider when he was saluting the fans at the final whistle? Probably not Those are the only things I could think of for now...

  2. Well what can I say! Today was just amazing!!!!!!!! Not only was I with fantastic company but I saw what I think was the best game Caley have played in ages. The fans were amazing and so were the players. The first goal was something fantastic and the 2 that followed showed style. I have to say we should have maybe had a few more penalties but who cares when you win 4-0 against a Scottish cup winning side. Now remind me who will be playing in Europe this season coming! so all that is left to say is: "Hi, hi, hi, beautiful Su-unday"

  3. Will we be the SPL whipping boys or is it Hamilton ? I cant really understand this post. We are one game in and lost by 1 goal to a team with a transfer value of 20-30 million pounds and we managed to make them look really crap in the first half so I don't really understand the link with Hamilton conceding 8 goals in 2 games and us. Will we be the SPL whipping boys? just remove that thought from your brain. So said the prophet "Even if Dundee have a 26 point lead over us by Christmas, fear not for we shall still win the 1st division cup" and the prophets mate said "believe"

  4. Quick note to say ............what a great day in the sun. The whole summer wine crew in attendance............a support in great voice............the boys playing a blinder. Goal difference plus 3 after Celtic at home and d Utd away cannot be bad. Superb opportunity surely to move onto 6 points next week. Richie still to come back. Its looking quite good to say the least. Will leave it to others for in depth analysis.....those more eloquent and insightful than me. Now..............where is that darkened room?

  5. If Hayes keeps playing the way he is, and stays injury-free, I can see a bid being lodged in January. Keep him for as long as possible ICT. Even if a big money offer comes in, we won't find another player like him for a few years yet.

  6. It's worth mentioning what happened at Tannadeechay today. You have to pass loads of Arabs on the way up to the main road after the game. You've no idea how many of them stopped to say 'well done' after we'd annihilated their team 4-0. On the other hand, I've twice been at games when we beat Celtic. Both times their fans were gobbing at us after the game, swearing at female car park stewards, etc etc. DC, there's no way I can say this without sounding patronising. As you get older and see more of the world and meet more people who are not 'Celtic minded' and don't share your conspiracy theories, your views will change. Very few people retain these partisan views into middle age. It's the same with the other lot, except we don't seem to have any of them on this forum. Thankfully ICT are most people's big team as opposed to supporters of the wee team OTB where it seems to be quite common to have a big team.

  7. congas are acceptable after 4, pitch invasions on 6 and TB is obliged to give a speech after 7 as far as i'm aware.

  13. Sounds like Rooney's doing a lot of good defensive work. It's a side of his game that he doesn't get much credit for but it will be very important to us this season.

  15. Well, I grew up in West Central Scotland and from what I see, Celtic don't have a significant minority of bigots in their heartland...it's the majority. The songs were all full of IRA and anti-protestant sentiment. No exaggeration. Sectarian violence. Verbal abuse. It's a completely different atmosphere to liking Celtic in the Highlands. Wear a Rangers shirt to the Barras and see how well-meaning the hardcore of Celtic fans are. So it's perfectly acceptable to boo black players too? That's political. It's pretty obvious you sympathise with left-wing politics (so do I as it happens) but it can't be that the left can have a voice but the right, with Nazi flags, BNP leaflets, anti-immigration rhetoric and racist chanting are denied just because it's not the kind of politics you like. You hide it well. Don't think you have to be saint to condemn religious bigotry and support for terrorism that was only supported by a minority of Catholics in their own country. Likewise, I don't think you have to be a saint to denounce the booing of black players either. Obviously, as you're a Celtic supporter, why not just blame everything on a Masonic conspiracy. That's what you lot usually do.

  17. Feckin great day out - Greeted at the bar by the Millionaire Chairman Andy Pilley - He said that he spotted by "distinctive facade" a mile away and then met a few people who also appear to have met me before. The place is even more impressive when you are sober. Andy even stood behind the goals with the home support - attendance of 2813 with a noisy 500-600 from Luton. Fleetwood were outclassed really and it could have been a lot worse when the centreback Linwood got stupidly red carded after half an hour. Danny Hurst in goals (keeping out Scott Davies :irritated: ) had 3-4 great saves and he was abetted by the MOM - Stephen McNulty who is a Blobby Mann lookalike. Luton have some good players and I would certainly recommended the holding midfielder Keith Keane who strolled through the game in total command. Fleetwood couldnt handle the pace of the two black guys up front and the right winger Claude Gnakpa looks like one for the future whilst the great named centre forward Matthew Barnes-Homer was often too strong for Fleetwood in a Rooneyesque performance. Try to get a phottie of Danny Crow (Luton) who must be a Southern cousin of our own Mary Hill. Andy presented me with the flag, a free pint of Worthingtons and a couple of free tickets for a home game. With the trams now running I will be going on the train and on the lash for the next Fleetwood experience.

  18. You've never lived in Glasgow have you? Celtic fans have a huge number of sectarian bigots in their rank and file. Share a train, bus or housing scheme with a handful and your green-tinted glasses will soon come off. I don't have a problem with Celtic representing young Catholic kids, descended from Irish roots but if you think it stops at that and the IRA are not still glorified or that sectarian abuse by Celtic supporters never happens (don't need to point out the other lot do it, do I?), then I've got good news for you... ...my uncle who is President of the Bank of Nigeria recently died and I have ?15M I need to transfer into a bank account in Scotlandshire, Edinboro. You will receive 50%, so for that I need your name, address, date of birth, sort code and bank account number. May God's grace be with you Reverend Robert Buguwala Son of Presedent bank of niGeria

  22. 8 goals shipped in two games. Off the bottom. Seven points better goal difference, and one game less played. Are we safe now? Arithmetically? Hypothetically? Isn't it?

  23. Fact is, Celtic have a good few sectarian and bigoted fans. But every fan of other club in Scotland exageratte it to such a great deal. They say that every fan of either side of the OF is a bigot. For instance.. look at this thread. Started to complain YET again about the OF. **** sake, how many times does it need to be brought up that most of you think OF fans are bigots? Instead of thinking on two sides, like i have to being on an Inverness forum, it is safe to say that - as i have said - you just think that its all bollocks because every Celtic fan that waves a National flag of a country other than Scotland is a bigot and there to cause trouble. Ever thought that maybe they just arn't as oh so nationalistic towards Scotland as you might be? That they might sympithise with a country other than their own. Which is not a crime. Though you would think it looking at this forum. Then someone will say "But it has no place in football" Utter Bollocks. Things like Palastine, The Troubles, Catalonia, The Spainish Civil War.. Factors in the Political world that are held close to the heart of a person or a group have always been shown off in Football. Long before anyone on this forum was around anyway. Just like when crowds sang the name of Neville Chamberlin after he came back from the Munich agreement! If you don't want Politics in Football, why the poppy? The Soldiers getting free tickets? Not saying i disagree with either.. its just a question I have ranted a lot. I can't even make sense of half the ***** i have written. I am not claiming to be a nuetral and that i see things the way they truely are. I have a bias. But, so does nearly everyone on this forum and just as i might be looking through tinted glasses, so are a lot of you. So just remember that when trying to act like a Saint and casting mis-givings over to others who see differently from yourself.

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.

    • Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.
