  1. And if you get a chance to go to a match, it is highly recommended. As a visiting fan from Watford, I was made to feel very welcome and Caley Thistle is now my second team. I believe I have a replica shirt coming my way from Father Xmas too that I will be able to wear with pride to my beloved Watford

  2. I was told he wasn't very popular with the players. Why do so many people think we are just going to fall apart now that Statler, Waldorf and now Chicken Tikka have gone? We won't. Plenty of people, be it managers, players, coaches, chairman, board members, etc. have left this club in the past. We are still make steady improvement year on year. For every Josh Meekings we signed there was Tom Aldred. Forget those 3. We all know how the story at hibs is going to pan out. The king is dead. Long live the king.

  3. I see Butcher will be dealt with on the 5th of December for his conduct while the rammy was going on during the Dundee United League Cup game. From my vantage point, I saw it all and what he did was simply outrageous. Worthy of at least a ten match touchline ban in my view.

  4. Why the fell in obsession. There's been more posts about him since he dumped us than there has been in all the time he worked for us. Time to forget and move on.

  6. I dont want Robbo back but I will stand up for him here. He lost some of his jobs due to situations outwith his control. He was the first of Mad Vlads victims, County brought him in under false pretences and left him with no option but to resign and he got caught in the middle of a boardroom dispute as Derry got rid of him so they could bring Stephen Kenny back as their manager. I will admit he bombed East Fife and Livi though. As said I dont want him back but just think it should be noted that he hasnt been a disaster everywhere he has gone since he left. Suffered more from bad luck.

  7. still unsure why people are still keen on Robbo for the job, we should be looking forwards not backwards based on past successes. The lack of activity he's had on the managerial front in the last few years is deafening...

  9. Rumours that he stood down because the board refused to appoint Craig Brewster as manager again are yet to be confirmed...

  10. Think that was more to do with the then Chairman (Savage) and Niculae than the manager ..... but all in all, more of a PR kind of thing as I dont think we ever got anyone into the team as a result of their recommendations. Have heard stories about SM being unpopular with some folk, mainly back in the days prior to Tokely and Munro going, but bottom line is that he picked us up a few excellent signings and seems to have a good eye for a player so in that respect he will be missed. However, I do agree with what others have posted ... its onwards and upwards as we go on to better things under our new management team, whoever they may be. I don't want to wish messrs Butcher, Malpas and Marsella any ill - well I do really but it seems a little petty given the positive impact they had over the last 4 years - but I really can see it all ending in tears down there and I will smile a little smile and raise a glass to karma when it does .... ICT gave Butcher time to bring in these 'rough diamonds' and for Butcher and Malpas to get the best out of them. Was Billy McKay an instant hit? Doran? Meekings? no, but Butcher persevered and we are seeing the benefit of that thanks to a pretty faithful and patient group of supporters and directors .... dont think the Hibs lot, fans or board, will be that patient.

  12. We managed before without a scout and we'll manage again. We got compensation for Marsella and Malpass. Had a new manager come in and decided they were not his type then they'd have been gone anyway.

  13. Do you remember the dream? I'll buy back the Micra and we can hit Concord Rangers this weekend.

  14. I was going to say that we should sign some of the better Hibs players, just for giggles and that, then I remember there aren't any!

  16. This happens every season as all FA Cup semi finals are now played at Wembley.. a pig of a ground to get to and get away from.. Last year Wigan reached the semi and had a Sunday kick off at 4pm I think, which meant that the fans would have to leave at half time to get home on the train!

  17. I feel Marsella had a bit more dignity than the other two - I sense that he didn't think he'd be going until after the game at Hibs and he said on MFR that he was scouting for ICT up to yesterday and passed on info to KC (although obviously takes the knowledge with him too. I have less animosity for him than the other 2 tw@ts.

  21. Tweets Terry Butcher ‏@TerryButcher_11 Nov I enjoyed my time @ICTFC however as I head towards retirement I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet down in the bottom six. Butcher has come to terms with life on a much larger salary and access to the Capital's wine bars!! Steve Marsella not currently listed as a Hibee coach: http://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/page/CoachingStaff/0,,10290,00.html ...but he remains on the ICT Management listing : http://ictfc.com/club/football-management Goalkeeping Coach/Chief Scout - Steve Marsella Just found the Hibs initial draft CV for TB: Terry Butcher was appointed Hibernian manager on Tuesday 12 November 2013 after getting bored with Inverness. Formerly manager of Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Butcher, 54, has a wealth of managerial experience from a range of sackings all over England and Australia. Former England captain Butcher won the UEFA Cup and FA Cup while as a player with Ipswich Town and enjoyed trophy-laden success during his time with Rangers. As a Manager he has had little success and tends to panic and apply for other jobs if the team excels. Energetic, ego enthusiast and focused, Butcher led Inverness into the top-six during the 2012/13 season, bottled their Euro dreams before being appointed manager of Hibernian. This followed their annual AGM manager panic attack following a Malmo humiliation and the regular Hearts humping.

  22. With you on the 'in the works for many weeks' Pimple, no way did this happen suddenly. Fenlon resigned on the Friday and the BBC sport team were stating at 4.30 on the Saturday that Butcher was the man. We were kept dangling for 10 days knowing fine he was taking the **** but the nerve of the man to sit with the Hibs hierarchy while still on our payroll playing against us will never be forgiven by many, myself included.

    • Inverness CT (1-2) Hamilton - Play off Final 2nd Leg - Preview
The hurt, the pain, the reluctance and pig-headedness to listen to the fans asking what is going on, the lack of communication, the lack of ambition, the stench of mismanagement, the concert company, the battery farm, the demise since winning the Scottish Cup in 2015, the lack of passion, the lack of commitment, the dwindling fanbase, the lack of leadership. It has left the fans comfortably numb

    • Hamilton -V- Inverness CT - Play off Final 1st Leg - Preview
However all is not well and we just kept our heads above water thanks to Arbroath being rubbish. Onto the play offs and an insipid performance at Links Park left us all wondering if our time has come to drop into oblivion. Our performance certainly would not look out of place in the lower leagues. We clung on for a 0-0 draw away from home and scraped a 1-0 win at Inverness with Billy Mckay saving our blushes. Everything about the club has negative undertones at the moment.

    • Inverness CT 1-0 Montrose Play-Off Second Leg (0-0)
Little Consolation: Inverness will face Hamilton Accies in the Play-Off final after nervously scraping past part-time Montrose who were eventually reduced to ten men when Blair Lyons was sent off after an off the ball incident in the 84th minute involving Morgan Boyes. Inverness had dominated throughout, but failed to capitalise on their possession, and as per the entire season failed to create much of note. The first half was livlier than the first leg, but the same problems showed up our lack of quality. We started with no wingers and Billy Mckay as usual in a withdrawn role. It's not worked all season, so why should it suddenly work now. A woeful first half ended goalless and it was on the hour and out of the blue when Billy Mckay prodded in from three yards to score the only goal of the game following a corner

    • Inverness CT -V- Montrose - Second Leg (0-0)
As much as we have criticised the Caley Jags performance on Tuesday night, let's not lose sight of the fact that Montrose are a decent League 1 side with a good blend of experience and talented prospects. For our part, let's keep them as a good League 1 side and that means no room for faffing about. Time has run out now, there's no hiding places and no room for shirkers. Ditch the sideways passing or put goal posts in front of the Main Stand and tuck shops.

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.
