  1. Thank you to all the players and staff of ICT for a superb night's entertainment on a chilly evening. Four goals by four different players. Pity the BBC Radio Scotland match report could only concentrate on St Mirren's problems rather than ICT's excellent football and their convincing result.

  2. It may be in ICT's best interest if we hold onto him until his contract runs out cause we all know the offers in January won't be a massive amounts and with having Graeme in the side we may finish higher with him than without him so money could be saved there rather than losing out. I also don't think we should pay over the odds for him to stay when the likes of Watkins, Meekings, Mckay, Tansey and Raven's deals are up at the end of the season.

  4. A very convincing win in which again we dominated the play. it was four nil going on six or seven. Very impressed with Williams; Tansey's passing was superb and Vincent is now starting to show the form he displayed when he first joined the club. Overall, a great team performance. Bring on the Partick...

  5. I didn't make the game as I was at work. Was pretty straightforward for me tbh. As for others I think for some folk they'd still not be happy if there game was in a climate controlled arena 2mins from their house, served the finest cuisine and cost a tenner.

  7. Had my doubts about the ref when he dished out a yellow to Meekings (I thought) in the first couple of minutes for what looked like a good recovering tackle from behind the goal. Reading the report I see that Shinnie was booked instead. But Ref did settle in and tried to let the game flow, allowing advantages where necessary. Hardest thing Deano had to do was work out who was passing the ball back to him. St Midden were generally poor and and seemed to lack any ideas. As others have said, there could have been a few more goals, but overall an impressive display.

  8. Managers and those 'between jobs' - like Stuart McCall himself, attend games all time. Half the managers in the Premiership were at our match last night.

  9. Let's see how these sports are doing a few years down the line when the novelty wears off. Basketball in England went through a popular phase a few years ago and then went bust over night....ice hockey did similar. About the only thing that article tells us....and you have to read between the lines because the journalist totally misses the point....is that people like a bit of novelty. The "lesson" to be learned is that Scottish football currently provides the exact opposite with teams playing each other 3/4/5/6 times a season. As I pointed out on Twitter to someone yesterday....the cinema is expensive, yet people still go time and again (some people go every week). Why? because there's variety and they don't go along to watch the same movie over and over. That's not something that's within the clubs control....and thanks to St Mirren and Ross County who veto'd proposals for reconstruction that would have allowed a shift in the right direction....it's now going to be even more difficult to achieve agreement for. I had a discussion with someone recently who said they never bought a season ticket this year because the price had gone up again....they "had to go" when I pointed out that prices hadn't increased in the last 4 seasons. People need to stop lapping up the garbage spouted by the media (not all, but a large majority) who, in my opinion, are doing more to damage the game with their constant negativity. I stopped buying newspapers years ago because there's less and less about the actual matches and more and more negative BS about non match stuff. I witness it nearly every week where (some) journalists don't want to speak to goal scorers and guys who've had a great game...they want to speak to the guys who maybe had a bit of handbags with someone or made a couple of errors during a match. Anyway, back to attendances....one small (positive) factoid which I've not seen any journalist or reporter pick up on... Our average attendance is holding up for this season....despite a huge drop in away fan numbers. Conclusion : Home fan numbers must be on the up. Also, last nights attendance was par for the course given the recent history of attendances for midweek cup replays (not just with us)....in fact, it was about 25% more than was predicted/expected.

  10. Will there be highlights of the game posted on the BBC or SPFL Youtube? Or will we get the same treatment as Sportscene on Saturday with less than a minute to show just the goals...

  11. The double is still on, but the treble is only the domain of teams left in the League cup - Celtci & DUtd as I dont consider winning the lower leagues as being worthy of a treble consideration

  13. On a back shift so missed what appears to be a cracking game. With £18 a ticket 3 weeks before xmas, i think 1300 is a pretty good crowd tbh. Still, had it been cheaper i reckon there would have been alot more

  14. Great result! Going by the statistics we totally dominated them. We didn't want Partick in the next round but I'll bet they wanted us even less! Thank you players, coaches and management.

  15. Much as I consider myself a solid BBC man, totally agree with the comments above. Considering all teams were Premier league sides, we only get moments to fill two and half minutes, some of which is interviews? And one of those shown is currently joint-top of the highest league in the land. Meantime, we can get two and half minutes of a non-league side playing a League One (2nd Div) team, 7 and a half of one Championship (Div 1) team playing a team in the upper league and fully 9 minutes of another such pairing! Very poor show BBC. It's almost as if we are beneath your notice.

  17. Folk are often saying ..oh i dont know how you can go to that cold stadium ! I always respond .. its not that bad if you wrap up .. hat scarf gloves , strap a hot water bottle to yourself if you have to ! Whats 90 minutes to go & support your local team !! I've spent many a winter watching shinty in open fields without even any shelter , having a seat & roof is a luxury !!

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.

    • Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.
