  1. The ball looked to me to be still in play and therefore he was entitled to kick it out the park if he wished. The ref and linesman made some shocking decisions tonight.

  3. There was talk about this last year. It would be a radical change and I can't see it being introduced without some fairly major consultation. However, it has been a mainstay of the Green Party's policy since well before the Ecology Party changed it's name to the Green Party and I wonder if a commitment to consult on this with a view to it's introduction is part of any deal with the Greens to get the SNP budget through. I think this would be a really positive development which should simplify the benefits and tax systems. A real advantage is that it allows people who are able only to do small amounts of part time or seasonal work to be able to see the full value of the money they have earned. Of course, this has to be paid for and somewhere in the middle there will be folk whose tax will need to go up by as much as the basic income they receive, whilst for higher earners it would be more. That will not go down well with many and therefore this is another reason for careful and widespread consultation.

  4. Good team win that. We didn't have any weak links tonight, Vigurs and Polwarth worked hard off the ball, and the defence watched each other's backs well. Up front, there was some really sublime one-touch stuff, Mulraney scored one, made one and his goal was a beauty. Full-backs contained Falkirk for most of the game, Calder looked really decent and Mackay didn't make any errors. More of the same would do nicely!

  5. Really fantastic result, great to see the chances are being converted at long last - and thanks for conceding one near the end, gives me an extra point in the NPL to make up for that shocking half-time scoreline

  6. The referee was John Beaton. That should tell you a lot.

  7. Two bookings - Oakley and Warren - and two subs for injury - Tremarco and Mulraney - though. Right now I'd settle for a quiet second half and just 3-0

  13. Agree : although our problem is scoring. If we can start scoring two or three per match, we should make the play offs as the defence is for the most part pretty solid. Mind you, last season, I kept hoping (believing) we would eventually turn it round..............

  16. I don’t think that’s fair comment. We were not in a position to match the wages on offer to him from elsewhere and even if we did, he would probably not have chosen to drop a level when he could stay in the Premier. (As an aside he has no goals from 17 appearances at Well, whose manager has said he is looking for new strikers.....)

  18. He'll be company for Draper on the bench. It is actually quite remarkable how many players have left us for significantly more money elsewhere and then play precious little football. It's a nice little earner for a couple of years but does nothing for longer term career prospects. Back on topic, if there is a pitch inspection tomorrow then it sounds as though we are economising with the under soil heating. No bad thing if someone forgot to switch it on after the Bairns sudden return to form. Whilst it's not going to be so cold tonight, it is not exactly going to be thawing weather.

  22. Yes I suspect more fans of the ugly sisters leave Inverness every weekend and head down the A9 to watch those teams continue to destroy Scottish football. If half of those fans not just in Inverness but around the country supported their home town team and not go glory hunting then maybe we would have better teams across the country.

  23. The biggest attitude problem he has is the attitude of some fans who are supposed to support him and the team. Every week someone on here regurgitates this nonsense. (usually the same clique) I wonder how these fans would cope with the bile he has had to put up with on the pitch? Here's some clips from the last couple of games, you all might need to take your glasses off so you can see the number 7, clown shoes and red nose optional. And for all the wannabe managers, this is what you should be concentrating on and not the tired old "attitude" nonsense. Even better, get behind the player and we might see him for another season? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYGwQdx8M8E&t=23s

  27. So Raven's replacement tonight is on the bench and we have Brad at RB which in past has been not great he cant cross the ball into the box i thought early on in the season Seedorf was a gem but what's happened to him? Another game another goal from Oakley yet he will still be benched on Saturday or mabey thats to avoid him signing for Aberdeen in the summer then on loan to Dingwall in January

    • Inverness CT -V- Montrose - Second Leg (0-0)
As much as we have criticised the Caley Jags performance on Tuesday night, let's not lose sight of the fact that Montrose are a decent League 1 side with a good blend of experience and talented prospects. For our part, let's keep them as a good League 1 side and that means no room for faffing about. Time has run out now, there's no hiding places and no room for shirkers. Ditch the sideways passing or put goal posts in front of the Main Stand and tuck shops.

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

    • Inverness CT -V- Morton - Preview
Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.
