Do we still get a bus to Ayr next saturday?

Aberdeen deserve to go down after the dreadful system that kept them up a few years back. Think it will be Falkirk to go down though.

I'm quite surprised though that he's doing so bad. Not because i think he's a good manager but because surely Aberdeen have enough quality players to be avoiding what is happening. His record at Motherwell wasn't bad though was it? Its strange how it doesn't always work out for managers.

And next season it's gone. Bet ICT fans won't be talking about an away win in the First Division at Queen of the South in 60 years. They would still talk of a Scottish Cup win though. No, but they will be talking about the amazing unbeaten run, the league win, and becoming the first ever team to bounce straight back up! Pitty we aren't the first team to ever bounce straight back up though!! We are since the new league system came into play in 1998. I've said the league was more important and it is. I'd rather be in the SPL anyday over winning the cup but for living in the memories the Cup will always be remembered. Gretna went from the second right up to the first but i couldn't give a damn. League records about bouncing straight back up ain't as memorable as a national cup win.

Nothing like a good wind up, but seriously how could an ICT fan think about supporting them? Honestly I really am ashamed of the fans we have at times. Sometimes, in the dark recesses of my mind, I wish I had gone over the bridge at the merger. They really do have a more "football fan" like following than the ultra-PC up their own @r$es shyte we seem to have been saddled with. Wish you were C*unty, you only wish you were C*unty. They wouldn't have you though you soft @rsed bunch. Why would i wish i was County? I've been an ICT fan from the start and that isn't changing. All i meant by "support" was to be in their end. If they didn't win the cup i wouldn't be bothered, but i'm also not going to be bitter about the situation they are in. They beat Celtic 2-0 and deserve to be there and well done to them. Going to the cup final also does not help us lose fans, fans can't just jump ship and if they do then they obviously don't support their team enough by either buying merchandise or through gate receipts, these are the part time supporters you talk of. Not fans taking in a cup final because a highland team has made it. This sort of fan wouldn't be missed by ICT at all. Who would have thought that would have happened 20 years ago, its a massive feat. It just happens to be County that beat Celtic yesterday but i'd have been the exact same if it was any other small team that beat Celtic.

That would be my selection but I reckon that TB will play Stratford in front of McBain. Yeah i completely agree with that also. Its a shame we probably won't see Roy again.

I'd rather go watch Embo City and listen to the radio for updates. You would be gutted if we didn't have a rival team to moan at wouldn't you. The old school fan has to hate their local team with a passion and hope that they go out of business but when it actually happens they have nothing to do apart from actually support your team with no hatred involved anymore making it that little bit more boring for them. I'd have thought after the merger ICT fans would be a little bit more open on these sort of things. How can you be so anti Ross County in going to matches to see them that could benefit Inverness or to see a highland team take the Scottish Cup. Surely you were as anti Caledonian or anti Thistle as you are today so how did you deal with seeing the two teams together. I'm surprised you actually had the sense to keep supporting ICT. What would you do if County and ICT merged? You just can't see the bigger picture can you? Only interested in going along hoping to get high on the atmosphere of someone else winning a trophy. Is this because it's Ross County? That statement doesn't seem to look like it. The atmosphere will be good at Hampden but as RIG said before alot of ICT fans went to see Gretna when they were in the final. Its all a great day out for football but its not glory hunting or supporting another club part time. I would also take in a Clach game in the Scottish Cup if they were to play around my area in the central belt against one of the 4 league sides. The unlikely hood of a team winning a cup match makes for a great day of football i think. Not jumping on the bandwagon and celebrating their victory with the clubs fans.

Yeah its got to be Raith. I always like to see first division teams giving the SPL a hard time. It would also call out for a larger SPL and people might actually take note of this if there is two first division sides in the final.

No i reckon if there was a small ICT following at the final we could get some friendly banter. ICT hopefully win the league and County fans will be happy to be in the final, A great season for the highlands.

Wrong, it has been said in this thread already that youngsters are converting to RC over us already, one of my friends from Ayrshire originally now living here has kids and like most true football supporters he is encouraging his kids to not follow the easy OF route and to choose a local team, they used to be Caley!!!! until yesterday. Hmmm well surely its those type of fans we don't need at the club. Aren't you from County territory anyway? I used to live on the black isle a few years ago and its very rare to find ICT fans over that way, especially in schools and i'd say most young kids who do support ICT from over the bridge is down to parents who have encouraged their sons and daughters to take in an ICT match instead of Ross County. We don't need young, primary aged, fans who have not yet made up their minds about football? Are you mad? We need every fan we can get. Every fan who buys a ticket to ICT or a piece of merchandise makes the club grow stronger. I'm not saying we don't need them, i'm saying there local team is Ross County, if thats what they've been told by their parents to support then thats their club they will pick. The majority of our support comes from Inverness and the surround areas and its a bonus when we have fans from in County's area but its few and far between unless you have been raised to support ICT.

Do you not get enjoyment out of just being at a football ground? I would certainly go to cheer on Ross County if it was a chance for us to win the league, Just as Partick cheered us on at Clyde because they thought they wouldn't be getting relegated. I bet they had a great day out and that was what was probably intended. Watching football on TV has never really entertained me unless it has been ICT that has been playing but at football grounds its completely different, the atmosphere alone makes it much better viewing regardless of who's playing.

Just another scenario i have thought of here although i do think this thread has run its course now... What if County were playing Dundee at Victoria Park on a day where ICT were not playing and if County were to win then ICT would win the league and if Dundee won then they would win the league. Would you go to support County in the hope that they would stop Dundee winning the league? Would you then go and support County for that game?

This is my point exactly Kirishima, I choose to feel a certain way, I am prejudiced as is every human being on this planet. If we were not to pre judge then the human race would not have been so successful, we would not have been able to judge threats or advantages. I am so venomous towards them because their fanbase would just as soon see ICT go the same way as Gretna, Third Lanark and Ferranti. It annoys me that when they have this attitude our fans would consider going along and offering support to them in their quest to win a trophy, do it for the Highlands but in reality they would love it if their success meant them becoming the only senior club in the Highlands. They already stole a number of the pre-merger fans and I believe they may well steal some of our fans, it pains me to think that our present fans will go ahead and cheer them on towards this. I very much doubt we will lose fans to Ross County because of this cup final. The only fans that may sway over to the other side will be people that haven't been to any ICT games and experienced the ICT atmosphere. Once you experience that there is no turning back. If it's people that turn to Ross County then its those who haven't given anything back to ICT in turns of gate receipts and merchandise.

This is all IF's but i have just noticed that for County to catch us we need to lose a game before the Dundee match for them to win the league (if Dundee continue to win their games). Then they would require us and Dundee to draw as either winner of that match would go on to win the league and not Ross County. Therefore i think Ross County along with their huge fixture pileup have even less chance of winning the league now.

I think Queens have a game against Ross County that is on BBC Alba around the 24th. Is this because it is a Tuesday night they are showing it? Just wondering if they have any intentions of showing our game against Dundee on the 1st.

Your better with your words than i am. Thats exactly what i was trying to get across. I am in no means trying to change who i support but would like to see the highland team do well. All a side a brilliant day for ICT and 3 games to go. Gutted i can't make next weeks match but i'll be there for Ayr in what will hopefully be our league winning match.

You think that he has a point that fans from 1994 onwards are glory hunters? C'mon! Not another one. Theres thousands of fans that didn't give a monkeys about either sides before the merger but that doesn't mean they start glory hunting from the 3rd division onwards. Its ICT! Not a team to glory hunt over, neither is Aberdeen, Hibs, or Dundee Utd. People who support these teams support them because they love the club. Saying it's because they are a famous 3rd/2nd/1st division side is idiotic.

Well.....a "fan" might be a bit of a stretch...considering i have never made any financial contribution to the club in any from. I have long openly admired their style of play tho. BUT....had it been even Rangers they played today...ad have wanted County to lose! Right so you follow the same style as my dad, old fashioned and a big caley fan when he was younger but IS a "fan" of the one side of the OF, he doesn't like to call himself a supporter as he doesn't go to any OF games neither buys their merchandise.

If County were to lose the final then fine, thats not what i'm asking for here. I'm asking for a day out at the end of the season for the Highlanders. Why not go along to a cup final? Going by the attitudes of a few here that you can only go and watch ICT then most have never been to a national cup final before so why not take one in and support the highlands in the meantime.
