  1. If the quality and range of beers has improved, why would it NOT continue as the pre-match meeting place?!
  2. I would imagine that for Europa league away games, that wouldn't be a problem.
  3. But on a more serious note, on the day that plans to clamp down on sectarianism in football were announced, should we not be trying to eradicate predatory paedophiles from the game too? I know which gives me more concern.
  4. I know some people don't like chants about these things, but the one to the Manics tune, "And if you tolerate Rix, then your children will be next" is surely one of the greatest of all time.
  5. Or they finish in the bottom 6, again.
  6. At least yours sounds like a genuine accident, rather than one that has been "engineered". You'll have heard about fraudsters slamming on their brakes at roundabouts to hoping that the person behind to run into them. The West Midlands is the home of this fraud, and thankfully it is very rare in Scotland. I know of a case where that happened, but when the inevitable personal injury claim came through it was for 4 whiplash claims even though there was only 1 person in the car! There was an independent witeness to the fact that there was only 1 person, and when the claim went to court, the 3 mysterious claimants said that they were lying down in the back of the car and nobody could see them. And typically, they won. You are right that the dramatic rise of no win no fee lawyers is the root of this problem, and sadly it is usually cheaper for the insurers to just settle a dodgy claim rather than defend it.
  7. We are away to Motherwell, home to Hibs then away to Dunfermline. Need to get a decent number of points from those games before facing Rangers. Highland News Embargo? What embargo? They published this at 8.13am!
  8. I don't know where to start, there are so many elements and phrases within that article that go under the heading "you couldn't make it up". I mean, Oban, FFS! And the Shaftas! Years ago I actually worked for Red Hot Films and Television X, true story. I wasn't involved in filming as such, but I did plenty of double entry.
  9. Getting back on topic, Jamie Stevenson is coming on trial with us. Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser Same article also confirms previous story from months ago that Gary Mackay Stevens is going on trial at Dundee Utd.

    Tom Aldred

Interesting. I'm not sure he is being brought in with the intention of being a first team regular though, given that he has very little first team experience - never played for Watford, 7 games for Stockport and 5 for Carlisle. But he'll get his chance here to earn a place, and if he does well we'll no doubt try to get him on a PCA in January. Here's an interview he did with a local paper a year ago when he left Carlisle for Watford. Times & Star
  11. Good thinking - and perhaps he could fix our USH too!
  12. Well after everyone praising his maturity for sticking with part-time football and his plumbing apprenticeship, Rory now says he wants to go full-time. I'm sure he'll get some decent offers. Not such a wrench to jack it in after all
  13. Aye, ICT feature in 5, but it's a 4-1 defeat! Still, it's always good to see Jonny's goal and dance.
  14. That surely can't be right, they had Barrowman
  15. The arguments against long term contracts can be summarised in one word: Barrowman.
  16. Hey Georgious, what's your beef? Moved it for you anyway, so hopefully the problem is "cured".
  17. You didn't make it to the last para of that HN article!
  18. When Dods became free, I'm sure I wasn't the only person to wonder whether or not he could fill a gap in our defence, again. He was probably the best defender we have ever had. But that was in the past, he's a few years older now and definitely past his peak. Plus there's the geography factor again and we know he would only move up for a long term contract that ICT would never offer him. So it was a nice thought for a few seconds, but its time to move on and continue the long search for the new "Machine".

    Steven Watt

Stumbled across this website article, which seems to imply that Steven Watt is interesting Lincoln City and ICT. It's hard to tell though if there is actually any substance, or if it is sheer speculation, so I certainly wouldn't give much credibility to the article. As a reminder, Watt is an injury prone defender, age 26, whose career has been sliding steadily (Chelsea, Barnsley, Swansea, ICT, Ross County, and finally Grimbsy (of the Blue Square) who recently released him. 20. We used to employ a convicted wife beater, and the only discontent from our fans was regarding his (lack of) footballing ability. Fans judge players on the pitch.
  21. Latest from Sky Sports, but nothing new really:
  22. You can't blame him for leaving us but I'd be mighty disappointed in him if he goes to Hibs or Crawley. Surely he's got to capitalise on his success with us by getting a move that is a step up both financially AND in footballing terms. Those are reportedly the only offers on the table at the moment other than ours (and interest from Carlisle came to nothing), and I would imagine that Adam and his agent had been confident of attracting better teams than those. Hopefully for his sake the rumoured interest of the likes of Birmingham, Reading and Derby comes to something. He deserves a step up, not just a higher salary.
  23. That looks like slightly lazy journalism. The actual position seems to be that his appearances triggered a clause that entitled him to another year. Rossco understandably is thinking about the year(s) following that. Caleyboy's suggestion that he asked for a similar extension option seems entirely plausible, and given ICT's current obsession with 1 year contracts it also seems plausible that the club rejected that idea. If that is the current situation, it doesn't seem insurmountable, surely its just a case of agreeing the terms of that option, the number of appearances required to trigger another year. I predict he will stay.
  24. If true, this is not good news. Presumably when Terry decided to let go of Granty, he was assuming that Rossco would be staying. To lose both....
  25. Obviously the striker is only allowed 1 touch, but that can't be the case for a keeper.
