    • Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

  6. Looking forwards to brushing up on my native language over the coming weeks
  7. Not sure if this has been discussed, but the dates for the playoffs are officially out now.
  8. Interesting. Four teams in it so a one in four chance, which pretty much corresponds with those outcomes. The odds are against us.
  9. I’ve just done a bit of research in case anyone is interested We’ve had 16 seasons of playoffs and only 5 times the Championship club has been saved.
  10. It's not the players - it's the manager
  11. As long as we hold them to a draw and Airdrie pull out a win, we should be sound as a pound and be safe on Goal Difference
  12. Well I sheepishly slunk into the stadium today, embarrassed by the fact that I hadnt seen the team this year. Other things had taken priority. Other things were more enjoyable. Other things offerred more value for money......things that had always had to take a back seat behind ICT. I was doing my duty, I felt, to support my team in their hour of need. I will travel to Inverness next week also for the denouement. However, I have to say that the product on offer today was so poor. On this evidence our players simply arent good enough. The loanees arent playing for the shirt.......why should they? It is scarcely credible that, had the penalty gone in, we would have won that game. I am not going to single out players.....that was a shitshow. Inept. If we stay up by some miracle then next year will only be worse again and more fans will drift away. I feel sorry for Ridgers who has to watch this every week.
  13. We were honking today. Dunfermline had the deckchairs out and still easily handled our limited attacking threat. In a game we simply had to win we probably had 3 good chances over the ninety. We needed to be XL Bully's but instead we got a group of Chihuahuas. I hope I'm wrong but I can't see that side today beating Montrose over two legs.
  14. 53/47 possession - 15 shots, 6 on target and 2 blocked, 8 corners and a missed penalty. Sounds like we were under the cosh and the tactics were all wrong.
  15. You being the expert regarding dogs from the hayloft and Dillinger's halcyon days. After today’s results it’s sadly out of our hands all we can do is try and win or at least draw next Saturday and pray QP implode. The great Highland Franchise Experiment has never looked so fragile shame on the so called guardians and blazers. Dougal

  17. Maybe someone should stop Ferguson getting to the game .
  18. I think we have to focus on the fact we have to win on Friday, anything less is no use.The fly in the ointment is our home form.We do that and we can hope Airdrie pull out all the stops against Queens. Maybe we should pair McGregor up front with Samuel at least that way we might get some action on the Morton goal. Well the boys know what they have to do,so we can expect a nail biter.
  19. Bearing in mind our home record being totally horrific, A must win game at home is a very scary prospect!
  20. Might work in our favour, Airdrie will need momentum and good moral going into the playoffs?
  21. Out of our hands now This was our most important game of the season and a tough one at the best of times. No major changes from the defeat at home to Raith Rovers although Aaron Doran had twisted his knee and is done. Sean McAllister started and Billy Mckay captained the side with Devine and Lawal on the bench. Dunfermline are safe in no mans land but will want to end their season with a flourish at home. Kane stated up front for the Pars with Jakubiak and O'Halloran on the bench. Surprise surprise it ended all square after goals from Benedictus and Inverness substitute Aribim Pepple who saved Billy Mckay's blushes after the striker once again failed to strike from the spot. Alas, Queens Park ensured Arbroaths tools stayed on the floor with a 5-0 thrashing of the Smokies. A must win next week or it's the play-offs for us. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The penultimate game of the season, unless we drop into the play-off games, kicked off on a bright afternoon at the KDM Group East End Park with Dunfermline getting the game underway and Kyle Benedictus booked within two minutes. It was a cagey opening littered with fouls. First serious attempt in the game came from Chris Kane after twenty minutes when he was denied by Ridgers from close range and moments later the big keeper also saved from Paul Allan as he shot from outside the box. Owen Moffat looked lively and his shot from left side of the box was saved down low by Ridgers with Kane looking to snap up any loose ball. Fifteen minutes before the break and the hosts were getting on top but a James Carragher header reminded them that the visitors were still in the game, Mehmet tipping over for a corner. Five minutes before the break Alex Samuel was denied by Mehmet. Two minutes later Benedictus opened the scoring after he latched onto a ball bouncing around the Inverness box to head home. Allan shot over on half time and a stoppage time corner for Inverness came to nothing. Half time at EEP and news filtering through that Queens Park are thrashing Arbroath 3-0. Meh! HALF TIME: 1-0 No changes at the break as the visitors restarted the game and Mathew Todd saw an effort from the right saved by Ridgers at the expense of a corner five minutes in. Ooooft! Out of the blue, penalty to Inverness conceded by Moffat with a hand ball. Taken by Billy Mckay and as at Inverness, saved by the keeper. FFS!!! Todd fired well over as the Pars looked for a second goal with half an hour left for Inverness to salvage something from a shocker of a season, Sean McAllister shot wide from inside the box. With twenty minutes left Aribim Pepple replaced Savage and Jakubiak replaced Kane. Substitute Pepple pulled Inverness level in the 75th minute from six yards, his first goal for the club in 13 limited appearances, and moments later Roddy MacGregor replaced spot kick sinner Billy Mckay. Pepple was denied a second by Mehmet and McAllister had one deflected into the keeper as Inverness went for broke. Dunfermline made it an edgy finish with three corners in quick succession but it ended all square, the fourth draw between the sides this season. FULL TIME: 1-0 It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter. Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.
