To me there have been some great supporters at this world cup - the Tartan Army and the Norwegian supporters were the best. The England supporters now have a chance to write 'Came 3rd' or '4th' on the thousands of replica winners trophies they waved at matches. The Golden Boot could go to a French or English player.
With regard to the contentious decisions for most teams in the 2026 Tournament, probably the biggest ever in the history of the world cup was:
''Whether Geoff Hurst's famous "ghost goal" crossed the line in the 1966 World Cup Final remains football's most enduring controversy, but most scientific, frame-by-frame film analyses conclude that the ball did not fully cross the goal line.''

Ok another repeat thread but interesting that it hasnt been brought up.
WHAT IS THE POINT OF PUTTING HIM ON THE BENCH WITH NO EVIDENT INTENTION OF BRINGING HIM ON ?
- THAT IS THREE FECKIN GAMES NOW
YESTERDAY WE MAY HAVE SAVED THE GAME IF WE HAD AN ALTERNATIVE.
BUT HE WENT DOWN IN MY ESTIMATION YESTERDAY WHEN HE APPEARED TO SPEND MORE TIME BONDING WITH THE JAM TART SUPPORT.
HE COULD HAVE CHANGED THE GAME YESTERDAY - EITHER PLAY HIM or OFFLOAD HIM or BANISH HIM TO THE RESERVES.
Sorry Gillian - This one comes from the head and the heart.
