Can ICT win the SPL?

Why not? Having seen Ross County play Celtic off the park a few weeks ago, what have we got to fear? Rangers are bankrupt and will probably have to sell their best players in the summer, Celtic are worse under Lennon than they were under Barnes. Who have we got to fear? Aberdeen? Hibs? Motherwell?

I believe!

Have they not won the last 7 league games? I know their last league defeat was the 4-0 against St Mirren!

Going back to the original question though, anything is possible, but I think the best we can look at for next season would be top-6! It'll be a good few years before we're competing with even Utd, let lone the OF

If wilsonouourwing had posted this I MIGHT believe but , eh.......you've obviously just come back from pub!

I see the silly season has started early, maybe this should be in the rumours forum.

But to answer the question, I doubt a club of our stature would have the resources to sustain a challenge over a whole season. It's a different kettle of fish winning a one off game, to maintaining a challenge to win a championship, just look at the clubs that fell away in the latter part of the first division season this year.

Can I have some of what Dead Ball Specialist was on ! There's more chance of Susan Boyle becoming Miss Scotland than ICT being SPL champions. Come to that, there's more chance of me becoming Miss Scotland than ICT winning the SPL !

we'll go for staying up next season, top six the next and Europe the one after that.

 :blah01:

You do realise theres a difference between winning one big game, and winning the league over a course of a season.

If anything you've got to applaude the optimism

Being a realist no I don't think we can the league but go into each game with the belief we can win it but there's a difference between having the belief and having the capability and resources, for me if the players show the belief that they can go into every game to win it then I'll be happy. If they do have the belief then I am sure we'll comfortably stay in the SPL which should be the ultimate aim then we can build on it and move forward.

I totally lol'd when I read this

I think we may get top 6 but winning it would be a different story

Absolutely. If we aren't in contention at Christmas we should sack Butcher and look at getting Warnock in.

Someone outside the Gruesome Twosome has to win it eventually.

Exactly, and if the SPL is as poor next season as it was this -

it could well be us.

All we have to do is keep the unbeaten run going for another 38 games.

B E L I E V E

If we go on a good run - which I think we will - Hayes et al will of course attract attention. It's a bit of a win/lose situation. If clubs were barred from trading players once the season had started, things would be a lot different. I seriously think we'll be top six this season.

I believe!

ok back in the SPl order of priorities

1) make sure we stay up cosolidate

2) try for a top 6 place the way this season went in the SPL it is achievable

3) get a couple of good cup runs

4) top 6 place puts you in for a chance of europe

5) sort out the pie situation

No

hopefully this is a bit of tongue n cheek?

I don't think anyone outside the OF will win it (obviously; who ever does?), but I would have to say that any team in the SPL who put together a great run quite easily could. Any team in that league is capable of beating any other on their day - the keys to the title are stability, bottle, experience and an enormous squad!
