Lee Cox injury

According to Mfr Sport he could be out for 5-6 weeks, after last night's injury at Celtic Park.

I saw it linked on the Mfr Sport Fb page, from a Twitter announcement here

It was a shocking tackle. The Celtic player should have seen red.

Disgusting tackle. Looked like a potential career-ender. The club should complain

Thankfully we signed Stuart Duff so he can partner Russell Duncan

FFS. Have we ever had so many injury problems at one time? I don't think so.

And GJ is right about the tackle and the lack of red. Even the Celtic TV commentators said they got off very lightly (had it been our player on one of theirs they would have been calling the perpetrator an animal and demanding a lifetime ban etc etc)

Thats all we need, another crocked player. On the plus side, it gets Russell Duncan back in the starting eleven. Might be able to forge a solid partnership with Duffers.

That's a good few injuries to first-teamers

McCann - Innes - Gillet

Cox

Sanchez - Blumanshtein - Foran

(I know Foran's played a couple of halfs but he's still not fully 'back')

Time to bring in some defensive cover on a loan basis?

Suggestions?

think we need ldz :rotflmao:

I think we need a break of the right kind

Seriously if there are any free agents out there we need you!

Lee Cox will be a missed on the pitch :( but we have Duff so not soo bad :-)

This is the last thing we need. I cant ever remember a time when we had so many important first team players out injured. This is really going to test our squad and will be a steep learning curve for a lot of our younger squad players.

The sooner we get all our players back fit the better.

I wonder given our injury list will Terry look into a loan or short term deal. There still seems to be a lot of players out of contract. Im unsure of the loan signing situation, is there a window for loan signings? what about emergency loans?

Someone posted this list on the Scotsman website of players looking for a club - one or two not bad names in there:

Vitor Lima

Michael Ball

Jay DeMerit

David McNamee

Fernando Ricksen

Patrick Cregg

Greg Cameron

Richard Hastings

Stuart Elliott

Tony Stevenson

Jose Goncalves

Abdessalam Benjelloun

Lionel Djebi-Zadi

Mark Burchill

Mark Archdeacon

Michael Fraser

Filipe Morais

Charlie Miller

Keith Gillespie

Stephen Glass

Francis Jeffers

Leon Knight

Ryan O'Leary

I doubt someone like Ricksen would come here, he is the kind of hardman ICT could do with though.

David McNamee or Jay DeMerit would enhance the squad though and are probably doable (or at least worth asking about). Cregg was alright. Not great but would be decent for us, whilst Benji would surely get in ahead of Blumanshtein, Sanchez or Odi.

McNamee or O'Leary would be good signings at the back.

Could Get Morais back on a short term deal to enhance attacking options as well.

With Cox out Duncan can slip in with no problem and play alongside Duff, I've been calling for that one myself actually anyway. Heres hoping we can get him back ASAP though.

Jose Goncalves

Abdessalam Benjelloun

Michael Ball

Fernando Ricksen - would all be fantastic signings for any non old firm team.

Patrick Cregg -

Greg Cameron- aye I'd take (either)

Lionel Djebi-Zadi - suprised we've actually not offered a short term deal

Filipe Moraias - Why have we not offered a short term deal?

Looks like Cox' injury is not as bad as first feared, official ICT page says he'll probably miss the St midden and Aberdeen games but be back for the St Johnstone game.

Great news that he's not out as long as originally feared
