Give Charlie 5 more games

Firstly sorry for starting another thread on this subject but i feel that the current position we are in we have got to talk about it. Charlie is a man who has got Caley Thistle blood flowing through his veins. His commitment over the years to the club is second to none. Charlie is one of the best if not the best player to ever wear a caley thistle shirt. I have a lot of respect for Charlie and i do wish him well and hope he gets the club running on all cylinders again. However when Charlie was appointed manager of caley it did come as a big shock to me. As i said before his commitment and loyalty to the club is first class as a player he was first class but all this does not make you a good manager. When Charlie took over as manager i feel he maintained the standard of  football right through till the end of last season. This season however has been a totally different story. We started the season off ok but things have gone to an all time low since then. There is problems at the club and over the last few weeks you can tell by player reactions. We are now a team who sit second bottom of the spl. We have forgotten how to play football, moral at the club is zero. I am really worried about the future of this club at the moment. As i said before i wish Charlie all the best and i hope he turns this bad spell around but i am sorry i just cant see this happening. I think Charlie should be given 5 more games to turn things around. We have Rangers H. falkirk A, St Mirren H, Aberdeen A and Hibs home for that 5 games and that takes us up to Jan 20th. If things have not improved after these games i think Charlie should be offered another job within the club and a new manager appointed. I think we need to make it 5 games so if Charlie cant turn things around then the new manager has still got time to dabble in the transfer market. One problem is there is a few players at the club who are not spl standard and we need to move them on. As i said before i dont think Charlie will turn things around and i think a new manager will give the place a shake that it needs. Finally i have two questions for everyone

1. Who if it comes to it should we be looking at to be our manager ?

2. With an estimated transfer budget  what players do you think the club should look at to improve the current squad ?

I think we need a good left sided midfielder with pace, Someone to pull the strings in centre of midfield and a good striker with pace.

Although I respect this man for coming on and giving us his opinion, I have to disagree with the 5 games.  Especially when you see the 5 games that we are playing.

1.Rangers - Team that are battling for 2nd place and have regained their form.

2.Falkirk - One of the best up and coming teams in the SPL.

3.St Mirren - Ok, we should beat these guys

4.Aberdeen - On fantastic form, and going for 2nd place

5.Hibs - Who can argue with the quality they have?

So yeah, out of those 5 games I would like to see us get at least 4 points off of that.  Win against Mirren, and a draw with either Aberdeen or Falkirk.  Anything higher will be a bonus for me.  I don't see how sacking CC will do anything to help the team, just a stupid reaction to a slump in form that we are seeing.  Under Charlie we have done so much, have been playing some good football occasionally and got some good results (win against Rangers at Ibrox), so I think he should stay.

The testing time is the players that we bring in during the transfer window.  Lets get a decent winger in, someone who can run at players and are not afraid to skin them, **** even if we have to get a player on loan from a Championship/English Prem team or SPL team, much like what Yogi has done at Falkirk and got Stokes on loan.

Bonzo - sometimes I doubt whether you actually mistakenly put an N in your name when you signed up, and I also doubt your allegiance to Caley, possible County fan maybe?  But Robbo as our best ever manager?  Not in a million years I'm afraid.  Steve "Pele" Patterson for me.  The team we have now is still largely his, and because of him we went from 3rd division no hopers to 1st division challengers, and I think that if he had stayed with us rather then go to Aberdeen, we would still have been in the SPL.  I'm afraid to say that Charlie is the man for us, and a small dip in form should not mean he gets the boot.

No, I don't think we should Charlie 5 more games  -  5 more years is a far better option!!!

We're in this SPL game for the long haul so be patient. It's not going to happen overnight and chopping and changing managers never did anybody any good. Plenty examples out there at the moment and the most successful sides keep faith with their management teams and give them the support they need to bring on the good times - that's what we should ALL be doing now!!!

Its clear that Bonzo simply doesnt like Charlie Christie. Infact, does that mean Bonzo could even be a thinly disguised Alec Bone?

BONZO you are probably the most honest poster on this site. the rest are just dreamers.

I have to say that Bonzo's contributions are feckin great - in a Squirrelesque kind of way. Although he is applaudingly winding most people up he has a lot of strong arguments.  :011:

Now will some of you shut up? GIRUY Bonzo.... 8-0 I believe you said?

Oh Bonzo - Where are you? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ??

It's going to be busy at the rock they've all crawled back under  :001:

Well it shouldn't..... but no doubt it feckin will....!!    :017:

You've lost me with this thread......I'm still trying to work out how CC became manager of caley??????? :017:

you know my problem is that i think too many of you belive that relegation is impossible, like canary saying we're in it for the long haul, what right do ict fans have to make statements like that?

We're 10 points clear of Dunfermline (+ goal difference), it's very unlikely they'll manage to overhaul that deficit before the end of the season.

Bonzo, if you were a true ICT supporter you wouldnt be coming on here spewing the drivel you do. Every team goes through a slump period. Show support and encouragement and perhaps we'll get out of ours.

Oh and I dont think anyone can fault CC's gameplan last night.

deafening silence from bozo, ersebornejake and mr cromarty today

ah, just seen Bozo's post elsewhere - sound about as sincere as Bob Monkhouse

Dont think we will see Mr Cromarty for a long while.... he got a red card :025:

You misunderstood me a wee bit there Clacher. I agree we have no right to expect to be in the SPL for a long time, just a hope that we are. It's the job of establishing ourselves as a top flight outfit that is going to be a long haul, a couple of seasons of finishing higher than expected does not mean job done.

Relegation is always going to be a possibility but I feel we have more chance of avoiding it, particularly this year, if we just stick to what we've got and keep on playing to our strengths. It's the knee-jerk panic reactions that would put us down far quicker and then keep us down there.

Dont think we will see Mr Cromarty for a long while.... he got a red card :025:
did he? cool will be a far happier and more positive without mr jurrasic

sorry if I'm a bit thick,

but how do you mean he got a red card ?

No need to apologise.  :015: :015: :015:

:33: :33:

I don't think you could attract a worse manager. thank goodness only one team goes down.

Well said Jake.

Five more games?

I hope we're looking at replacements now, possibly eating a bit of humble pie and talking to our best ever manager, Robbo.

I'm very much afraid that the next few days will see some ICT records smashed.

New record defeat tonight.

New record low crowd on Monday.

Cna I ask why the **** would the Caley Board need to eat humble pie to speak to Robbo HE left US not the other way round.  He took the job with the Jambos did ok then romanov sacked him, if anything Robbo should eat Humble Pie.  Anyway I would not want a manager who would walk out on a club just because his boyhood heros come a callin'

When CC got the job the question of Robbo arose and was quickly slapped down by David Sutherland. I think DS said that JR was a worthy member of the ICT hall of fame and he would be staying there.

But anyway thats irrelevent. CC is doing fine and always has done.
