(Another new name to get used to!)

This thread could be a place to post match dates, venues, KO times, previews, reports, observations etc. for our (U20s) games this coming season. I know the Renegades and caleydawsons (and others) are regulars at these games and it's always interesting to hear their thoughts.

CaleyD reported on another thread that 5 'over-age' players may be permitted for this re-branded league.

Another change I can see is that there are going to be 17 teams involved - that's a busy 32 game season.

The 12 Premiership clubs are supplemented by Hearts, Hibernian, Falkirk and The Rangers from the Championship with League One's Dunfermline Athletic also involved.

The season starts (for us) on August 5th - next Tuesday!

  • We do have a very (comparatively) young/inexperienced "development" squad (over half of them having just made the step up) and this season is being viewed as being thrown in at the deep end and result

Ferguson makes it 3-2 to ICT. Subbed on for Sekajja.

Calum ferguson who came on for Ibra has made a quick response by scoring for ICT which now puts it 3-2 after being 2-0 after 10 minutes fantastic from the team in not giving up

According to our twitter, penalty was clearly outside the box aswell. Sore one.

Rangers player already on way down, so foul has been committed by that point...linesman perfectly placed to see (and looking straight at) incident.

To be fair it looks a tight call but free kick should have been the awarded.

Close call? Player is on way down and he's still at least a yard from the box. It's where foul takes place, not where player lands!!

Didn't see a red card being given..or a yellow..in fairness I was bouncing around raging at that point though...lol.

From what I can see in the picture it looks like the defender is denying a clear goal scoring opportunity so a red card could be given, but it is never a penalty.

Given that the screenshot doesn't show the full back line, it might have not been last man.

There's no such thing as 'last man' anymore. It does my nut in hearing that call on the football pitch and on the terrace.

Fair enough, denying goal scoring opportunity etc.

I prefer the term "taking one for the team"

Good to see that this league is used to develop match officials too. Any contact less than 25 yards from goal = penalty to Rangers. And don't forget to leave your backbone, testes and ethics in the changing room.

You are all being too kind - that is clearly outside the box and the sash wearing linesman has the perfect view. The Old Filth bias would appear to have no boundaries.

Next game is tomorrow (Tues 28th) away to Kilmarnock @ 2pm.

We're still without an away win this season, so this presents another opportunity.

It surely won't be too long before Richie Foran makes his long awaited return in one of these games.

Game with the Killie just kicked off and the team is:

Hoban, Horner, Howarth, Baptie, Brown, Polworth, Devine, Wilson, Ferguson, Sekajja, Sutherland

1-0 Killie. Muirhead

2-0 Killie, Muirhead again.

3-0 Killie, Muirhead hat-trick
