Might as well start the topic now, save people posting their dismay on the matchday thread about how surprised and aghast they were about the size of the crowd for an Inverness CT home game.

 

Terrible isn't it, where have they all gone, must be the merger and with County doing so well and the referendum and our poor form and John Hughes and the pies and the car park and well just anything really.

The car park does not help!

 

Go in there and it can take an hour or more to get out. Your feet get soaked in the large puddles and some of the attendants are less than helpful.

Other than that there no real reason for such low crowds. - The football is good and the pies are edible.

What low crowd? there were loads off passionate people who turned out today to support the local team and the local eonomy during a time of solidarity.

Why? ICT and St Johnstone are good at not mixing politics with football.

The crowd was low some 2.7 thousand if I heard correctly. Not many Perth travelling supporters and big gaps in the home ranks too.
As to why? I couldn't think of a single reasonable excuse never mind lots of the unreasonable ones that are being rolled out. We can not survive like this and our squad will suffer long term.
The few away fans out-sung our home support for large parts of the game too.

Subdued today in North stand! Yes it was rubbish but apparently the radio guys were making a big thing of it, same crowd as were at Partick last week tho and not a cheep. I think crowds are dropping all round.

Why dont we take away a stand behind the goals to make the crowd seem more compressed. Then no one is going to see all the empty seats and complain. Or maybe people could just accept we have a support of 3000ish and it isn't going to change anytime soon.

Poor us, our crowds are tiny. Wah wah wah. I wish people would stop starting pointless threads about this. 2700 is better than filling a stadium with 30k knuckle-dragging degenerates like certain other clubs.

There are people out there with no shoes on their feet.

They might be homeless or living in overcrowded conditions.

They might have limited education, a thing that we often take for granted.

They might have limited access to clean water and their electricity gets cut off for no reason.

Even their local football team is all alone at the foot of the SPFL without a single point.

When things are good spare a thought for those less fortunate in Dingwall.

Club perhaps should re-examine their  promo tactics. North American sports outfits have  many ways of entertaining the fans and building up interest and excitement pre match. I do like the Pom-Pom girls, myself. Not only are they very easy on the eye but they are also very athletic and always smiling as if they are enjoying themselves. I do understand that money is probably very tight but these things could be arranged perhaps through negotiations with some of he local businesses.

 

And the schools could be encouraged to have their athletic activities put on show  on match day for maybe  half hour or so. I think that  doing virtually nothing to provide some kind of different entertainment for the public/fans is not a good, progressive approach to encouraging them to show up. It's all about providing an afternoon out for the family and it should be some kind of  complete entertainment package we offer fans to come along. Even performing dogs jumping over  boards is  better than trying.

 

Not being in Inverness I am not knowledgeable as to what is being offered on match day but, the way things are going, it does appear as if the footie alone may not be quite what the Doctor ordered in this day and age.

 

Involving youngsters in some competitive way is a sure-fire way of engaging the parents also.

I am not suggesting harsh, competitive events but events where all kinds of people can participate such as the disabled, the blind even  and, of course, the mentally disabled for whom such events would be mentally and emotionally stimulating. 

 

I am willing to start this off by sending the club $100 , or about 60 pounds, to assist in setting up a Fund for this purpose, but I strongly feel that the schools should be contacted  and asked for their co-operation.

Would anyone else be interested in making a contribution because then we could set up a fund.?

And maybe the parents could then gradually be pulled in with a small regular contribution once the benefits for the community can be seen  to be popular.?

We could try spandex though and that would mean they would have to jump higher and  gyrate more quickly to keep warm -- but  it would be a gyrate show wouldn't it??

 

I  could tell them to bring their batons and the boys on the team could come out and  do some burlings to match their twirlings.
