November 2, 201411 yr Surprised to see him quit despite Well's poor start. Adams would be obliging his former employers by the job. With him seething away in the dugout there would at least be one team County will finish ahead of.
November 2, 201411 yr Yogi for Motherwell................guid honest steelmen laddies How likely is that lol?
November 2, 201411 yr The most obvious choice for the job would be Derek Adams considering he used to play for Motherwell but I think they may go a bit left field with their next appointment.
November 2, 201411 yr Expect a surprise appointment. Craig Brown, Jim Gannon and McCall were quite left-field appointments at the time.
November 3, 201411 yr The bookies have reacted at last and McBookie have opened their book on the next manager. Derek Adams installed as early favourite at 3/1 just ahead of Terry Butcher 4/1. As Roughie tipped, Owen Coyle is in there at 6/1 alongside Ian Murray. The other candidate with short (< 10/1 odds) is Gary Locke. Further down come the more outsider names - Jimmy Calderwood (I'd forgotten he'd been 'caretaker' there), Craig Brown (I thought he'd retired!) and Alex McLeish (seemingly doing a fine job in Belgium). With the international break after our Hamilton game, it's very likely the new manager's first game in charge will be against us. If it were Deek or Tel, the extra interest would add a few to our routinely expected gate that day!
November 3, 201411 yr Definitely between Derek Adams and Terry Butcher. I think Adams will get it though. Butcher will get Motherwell bloody relegated! McCall next Rangers if or when McCoist leaves or gets the boot!
November 3, 201411 yr Think McCall could be heading back south. Rumour has it as assistant to Warnock at Palace.
November 3, 201411 yr Can't see Adams or Butcher getting this. If I was on the board at Well I would not be considering either of them, far too risky IMHO
November 4, 201411 yr Be careful Alex...many a word spoken in jest, et al. I hae mah doots about Richie coming back in early course. His injury is in the worst body part possible and he might just consider retirement into management to be a strategically- blessed move in view of his age as well. Then I think he might turn out to be a very useful manager away from ICT because ah also hae mah doots that any place will be available to him at Tulloch .
November 4, 201411 yr I wonder if Motherwell may go for a cheaper option and see the likes or Lasley step into management or assistant - he's been injured, doing his badges and getting on a bit. Every year they trim the team and cut costs yet perform at the similar level, McCall resigning is a surprise as you would think he wasnt under huge board or fan pressure and could have turned it round? Perhaps he asked for money in January as he saw the squad was too weak to maintain the previous levels and has decided to walk based on that answer?
November 4, 201411 yr Foran's wife just opened a new business in Inverness at the weekend. Whatever the business is I bet its not a micro-brewery. These cause flooding
November 4, 201411 yr It's a beauty business I think. Scarlett, I think there will always be a place for Richie at ICTFC. He showed a lot of loyalty when Terry and Mo jumped ship.
November 4, 201411 yr Richie will be the next ICT manager after Yogi - even Yogi said that in the courier or highland news last week!
November 4, 201411 yr It's a beauty business I think. Scarlett, I think there will always be a place for Richie at ICTFC. He showed a lot of loyalty when Terry and Mo jumped ship. Yes ocg just round from the Courier Office
November 5, 201411 yr Just wonder if there's any significance to the timing of Billy Stark 'stepping down' as manager of Scotland's U21s? I'm sure the 'well fans would be looking for a more imaginative or high profile appointment but perhaps the board see Stark as an experienced guy who knows the Scottish scene inside out. A safe pair of hands, employed simply with the mandate to 'keep us up this season' and if successful an extended contract would be on the table.
November 11, 201411 yr http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/owen-coyle-emerges-leading-contender-4606244?utm_content=buffera0b01&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer
December 3, 201411 yr I see today the press are linking Kenny Shields, ICT fans could have told that weeks ago as he sat in the main stand when we played Motherwell............is this another example of the press not paying attention to what is going on at our club? I'm sure had it been Aberdeen, DUtd or any central belt club Motherwell played that day the story linking KS would have been in the pages next day.
Wonder what odds you would get on Derek Adams being their new boss?
