East Fife away April 2026

Sticking the Preview up early to take the ticket talk off the Kelty topic. I will continue to build the Preview during the week in the build up to this massive game

Is It Coming Home?

With the prospect of a title winning celebration happening this weekend, a big crowd is expected at Bayview Stadium, Methil. It's certainly not a formality by any means, however, there is a distinct possibility that something could happen and that will swell the crowd. East Fife have had to review their seating allocation to try and accommodate this surge in ticket sales and we are still waiting for further developments regarding ticket sales as of Monday at 21:00. It did open but sold out quickly and we now await more seating to be released by East Fife. A win for the Caley Jags will secure the title outright regardless of what Stenhousemuir do against Alloa Athletic. A draw might be enough but that depends on Stenhousemuir losing or at worst, drawing, something that is not a common occurrence at Ochilview this season. A defeat for both clubs hands Inverness the title and promotion. Defeat at Bayview takes it to the final day against Accies as long as Stenny get the win, and a draw at Stenny would probably suffice for us given our superior goal difference.

It's all ifs and buts at the moment.

It's only this season that our paths have crossed again after a 27 year hiatus in League games. We did have a League cup win over them in 2020 when Shane Sutherland scored the only goal of the game. We have been pretty dominant this season so far scoring nine goals and conceding one in the first meeting this season in a 4-1 win in the Highlands. Incidentally, our 0-2 away win this season had a crowd of 601. Our overall Head 2 Head meetings with East Fife is good with 10 wins, two defeats and two draws in the 14 fixtures played since we first locked horns in a Scottish Cup tie in 1996. That one ended in a 1-1 draw: A team of volunteers cleared a 2 inch covering of snow to allow this game to go ahead. The first chance fell after 5 minutes to East Fife's Trinidadian Arnold Dwarika but Jim Calder saved his 25 yard drive. Two minutes later Calder touched a Robert Scott shot round the post. Five minutes later lain Stewart had the home fans roaring when he opened the scoring - a long pass from Graeme Bennett found Stewart with a little space on the right edge of the area and he chipped (surprise surprise) the ball over Lindsay Hamilton. It was nearly two in 15 minutes but Richard Hastings 30 yard free kick flew narrowly past the post. The home side had other first half chances through Stewart and Hercher and East Fife came close in 41 minutes when Calder touched away a David Beaton free kick. The home side continued to impress in the second half and had excellent chances through Teasdale and Hercher. In 78 minutes East Fife drew level - Alex Hamill slipped the ball to Dwarika on the right and without breaking stride he curled the ball into the top right-hand corner of the net from 25 yards. Caley Thistle fought back but could not find the net - their best effort was 6 minutes from time when a well timed tackle from John McStay foiled Alan Hercher. The home side were disappointed not to have held on to their lead and East Fife headed south greatly relieved. <Both reports by Ian Broadfoot>

The replay was also drawn 1-1 thanks to an injury time equaliser from Alan Hercher who cancelled out Scott's opener on 75min. A tremendous victory for Caledonian Thistle but only after an injury time equaliser in normal time and the drama of penalty kicks.
The match was played at a furious pace on a wet and windy evening and several hundred Inverness fans witnessed an historic victory. East Fife had the better of the first half as the visitors battled into the gales - the best chances for the home side fell to Mark Donaghy who hit it over the bar in 8 minutes and to player/manager
Steve Archibald who did the same from 6 yards in 24 minutes. Caley Thistle dominated the penalty shoot out with the home players clearly very nervous. Iain Stewart, Mike Noble and Daisy Ross all scored for the visitors while East Fifes Allan hit it over the bar, Jim Calder saved from Hope and McStay scored.
At 3-1 Colin Mitchells penalty was saved by Hamilton but the match was over when Hutcheon hit the post. A superb night for Caley Thistle and a place in the last 16 of the Cup.

February 12th, 1996, 7:30 PM at Bayview Park, Methil:

Crowd: 1345

Those were the days with big names like Steve Archibald, Pele, Jim Calder, Iain Stewart

This one is filling up fast. Be there or be square.

As of Tuesday, our Allocation has been sold out

Nathan Austin helped our cause with the second comeback goal against Stenhousemuir. Sam Culbert on loan from Livingston has been on the scoresheet as well. He's one to watch, as is former Arbroath striker Michael McKenna.

ICT Paisley: Just bought my tickets for East Fife, as I’m checking out the seats were slowly disappearing in front of my eyes. Just a heads up incase anyone gets caught out.

Great advice, just got mine, thanks. There’s about 250 away tickets left.

Less than 100 now. I can see our fans buying for the home sections soon. Big game for East Fife too, battling Hamilton to avoid the relegation play-off.

Away sections now sold out. I think that means we will have over 700 there.

I’m thinking that one section hasn’t been opened yet so should still be available to go on sale.

Visiting supporters should purchase tickets in Sections H & J. Additional seating in Section K will be made available as required.

Taken from their website.

Now I know J and K had loads of availability today and H was completely blocked off. My gut feeling is that it’s H that is still to open.

Think you might be right - maybe East Fife have been waiting to see how home and away ticket sales go before deciding which team gets that block.

When I went on last night only J&K were available. logging on this morning to East Fife there is no mention of ict game and when searching for a ticket answer is “ no event found”

Googled it but it is an AI response giving pie and bovril guessing from posters.

I also think that H will be made available on Monday when east fife staff return to work.

Thanks for the early shout yesterday ict paisley I would have waited a couple of days before getting tickets after reading EF record crowd was v rangers, 4700 in 2013. They must have had temp seating installed for that game.?

Based on reports from the Pie and Bovril forum as of April 18, 2026, the away sections for the East Fife v Inverness Caledonian Thistle match have sold out.

  • Away Tickets: Fans reported that sections G & H (allocated to Inverness) were sold out, with expectations that over 700 fans would be traveling.

  • Ticket Availability: There were suggestions that one section had not yet been opened, potentially leaving further tickets available.

  • Recommendation: Fans are generally advised to purchase tickets in advance via the East Fife website or by phone (01333 426323), as there are no cash turnstiles at

    ps……..

  • Yes, East Fife installed temporary seating for the visit of Rangers to Bayview Stadium on October 26, 2013

    • Capacity Increase: The installation of temporary stands raised the stadium's capacity from its standard 1,980 to approximately 4,700 for that game.

On the EF ticket site that they are making adjustments to seating plan to accommodate demand. Fingers crossed there are enough available to satisfy high demand for the possible championship day.

Sad to see the outcry from some quarters about the sudden surge in demand for this game, talk about the 'average 2-300' being a generous estimate for the away games...big swing between 200 to 300 there. Interesting to get factual figures for this as I seem to have been at some away games where the total is barely 300.

This is just how football works of course, and the most important figure is realising a stronger support at the Sarens PSG to bolster the finances.

ICT Paisley: If we have big day supporters so be it. They all play their part in my opinion. Hopefully we can convince a few of them to go to more games.

Caley Canary: A point on ‘big day’ supporters, there are many of us, for many and varied reasons, that cannot get to matches on a regular basis. I used to make it up for 6-8 games a season, mostly central belt away games, but struggle to make even 1 these days - this season it’ll be none.

So my apologies in advance if I hurt the feelings of any regulars who feel put out when I get a ticket for a big day game next season - at the moment my choice will be the New Year derby against our friends across the bridge 👍😉

Caley Hedghog: While I am so grateful to the band of away supporters who follow the team through thick and thin around the country, I don't think anybody has the right to judge anyone else for their ability or lack of to attend games - home or away.

There are so many reasons why people cannot attend regularly - shift work, finances, family commitments, lack of available time - to name but a few.

Personally, I love it when there is a big crowd at any game and if I manage to take friends along then I am delighted, especially after a good game and a win.

I seldom get to away games, but it is so good to see how much the away crowd has steadily grown this season. Well done to all those who have been to one away game and to those who go every game.

Special thanks to all those working behind the scenes in the Supporters' Trust, to enhance our match day experience.

Let's hope we will all be celebrating this week, whether we are at East Fife or not.ictscarf

Yngwie: Maybe they are installing temporary stands to the other 3 sides of the ground, taking capacity up to 10,000 to meet demand!

No its not. To sell more tickets theyd have to move hospitality and home fans.

We are beginning to sound like the OF.

They also have something to play for.

It'll be good to see the ground full for this one, hopefully the free tickets will be completely taken up by those Fifers...

The last time I was at New Bayview there wasn’t even an away end (1998ish). I was at an almost identical stadium (Dumbarton) this season without segregation. If it’s not kicking off when you’re getting pumped 9-0 then I think it would be fine. It would have been easy enough to accommodate any other travelling fans rather than have empty seats.

If clubs leave seats empty to spite the old firm then that is also pretty stupid.

I’ve been to New Bayview a few times with my daughter’s team as it was often used for cup finals, but I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen ICT there! Couldn’t go when we were there earlier this season. I recall about 25 years ago setting off to Methil from Jedburgh where I was staying at Christmas, but soon hit a bad blizzard and turned back. We lost anyway, 3-1 or 3-2.

We did it for years! Id have been raging if Id been moved to accommodate another clubs fans in north stand

Let's not forget ICT had a special offer last Saturday and no doubt will do so again next Saturday. So completely understandable why East Fife want a large home support as they slide towards the relegation playoffs. If their offer does not have a large take up they may still have some spare tickets although that is not their current position.

I respect East Fife not wanting to move the seats of their season ticket holders or change hospitality arrangements.

I also agree that selling unused seats in the home areas to our fans is not a good idea.

This is a high stakes match.

We could win the league, or see the title go to the last day.

They could almost secure safety or find themselves in the relegation play off place.

Either way, feelings could be running high, increasing the risk of incidents happening.

When we were in the top league, I remember how annoying it was finding Celtic and Rangers fans close to my seat.

Let’s just enjoy the day and the experience!

If the shoe was on the other foot, we would be outraged that our club moved fans to accommodate the opposition. So, fair play to East Fife for even looking at how they could accommodate a larger than normal travelling support and being able to sort something out. They didnt have to do that but it works for both clubs. East Fife gets higher match revenue, and we get more fans able to attend to watch us try to win the title on the day.

ℹ️Supporter Info: East Fife v ICTFC

Ahead of Saturday’s fixture, we would like to remind all supporters that entering the field of play and the use of pyrotechnics, including flares and smoke bombs, are strictly prohibited.

These actions are against both ground regulations and the law and can result in serious injury and serious consequences for individuals and for the club.

Entering the pitch also puts the playing surface, advertising boards and other pitch side equipment at risk, so it is essential that everyone stays off the field of play at all times. The club’s players and staff would like to thank all travelling supporters for their backing following the full-time whistle, and any pitch incursions would put this at risk.

Please do not stand on the seats causing damage and possible injury. Unfortunately, due to recent incidents at two matches away from home, the Club has been billed several thousand pounds for seat damage by fans. This is totally unacceptable and if the individuals responsible can be identified, the Club will take appropriate action. Your support this season has been outstanding but please do it in the proper manner.

We want everyone to enjoy their trip to Bayview Stadium and following these rules helps maintain a safe, welcoming and enjoyable matchday experience for us all.

Thank you all for your continued support and cooperation.

Apparently there are a few on the main street within walking distance. We will post some names nearer the time.

Spotted this on X

Methil has a choice of three pubs. Brig Tavern on High Street is closest to ground.

Does anyone have 2 tickets available for resale for Saturday? I was absolutely buzzing to attend the match but totally underestimated the rush and missed out! Please drop me a message if you can help 🤞

Edited by IainICT

Could I also request that if anyone else knows of a couple of available tickets that I could please buy them. I'd be taking my son so 1 adult and 1 any other category would be fine. My wife wasn't keen on me going as she had something else planned and by the time she said it would be fine, they were all gone. The irony is, this match had been on the calendar all season as it's a ground I've never been to.
