  1. We have been subjected to a lot about integrity recently, referee's inparticular.Yesterdays referee did little to champion their cause with his display. This is not a comment I would normally make, but what really gave me cause for concern was the booking of Miller. Miller ran almost the length of the pitch to offer his advise to the ref and it was as if it was an after thought that the ref booked him, had it been a caley player he would have been booked before a word of advice was given. The other thing that I found distasteful was a team of the talant of Rangers should rely on players who consider cheating a perfectly legitimate way to win a game. McCulloch built like a brick ----- house would have not of out of place in the Dying Swan. Although to far away to see it Bettie was no better believe. What we require is integrity within the game, Caley Thistle and its management team would be an example to all.

  2. Yeah, coz it really damages young players to play alongside better ones. Remember when Man Utd were playing kids alongside Cantona? I remember the names - Giggs, Scholes, Neville, Beckham...but where are they now? That was saracsm too.

  3. Wish they would stop "tinkering" and just get it sorted properly. Talking about anything less than a top tier of 16 teams is, IMO, a waste of time. If they can afford to pay larger parachute payments, they can afford to support a larger league.

  4. You don't have to go back very far. What about the first day of this season. Hayes looks like running amok first 20 mins so Ledley(?) halves him in the middle of the park and doesn't even get a card. Obviously wee Jonny is knackered and doesn't contribute much to the game after that. Also Samaras- 3 blatant handballs from the big girl's blouse, fouls awarded, but no cards. Fast forward to the League Cup tie at Celtic Park. Wilson (or Ki?) assaults and severely injures Lee Cox and gets a yellow. Imagine if big Rossco had done it instead. As for the other lot of the ugly sisters, it was only about 2 years ago that it was shown that Celtic had had about 5 decisions in their favour and the season was only a few weeks old. For example, the wee cheat Nakamura 'won' a free kick which produced the only goal of the game at Love Street. Meanwhile Rangers had suffered a few wrong decisions such as a disallowed goal at Pittodrie. If I was of the hun persuasion (which I'm not) no doubt I would be able to remember more details, but that would spoil a fine story wouldn't it. A plague on both your houses.

  5. Now lets move on. We have a better team now who are scoring goals. Lets put this blight in our history to bed and forget about it. Lets hope its a learning curve for the board.

  6. I think they are all stars, but now that Barrowman has gone I don't really have a favourite.

  7. Every single one of them that takes to the park and wears the badge with pride !!!!! We have some good (even excellent) individuals but none of them would be performing to this level if it wasnt for the team effort of everyone.

  8. Having watched "summer football" for the last 4 seasons in MLS where the season starts in late March/Early April and runs into October for all teams and possibly to the end of November for those who make it all the way through the playoffs to decide the championship, I would say it would be a bad idea for a number of reasons, mostly to do with global fixture dates. UEFA/FIFA dates are heavily based around a 'traditional' European calendar. For those leagues who shift the timing of their seasons it may bring benefits (weather being one) but it also brings loads of problems. In MLS I think it is fair to say that at least half a dozen times per season, TFC lose 6 or more players on each FIFA or CONCACAF date and most of the MLS games scheduled for those dates still go ahead because of the relative shortness of the season and lack of dates available for rescheduling. One one particular date TFC lost 9 players to international duty and MLS would not reschedule the match despite TFC having to register two of their coaches and to draft in a 39 year old utility player from what would be the equivalent of Clach. If you cannot get the whole of Europe to change to summer football then Scotland, and quite possibly the fans of Scottish teams would potentially be at a similar disadvantage. With regards to players from other leagues coming up on loan ... I think Joe is right. Beckham was a special case as he did it to retain his England place. And although Landon Donovan followed his example a year later by going to Everton there are loads of potential problems in this. The biggest one is the transfer window ? Would we have variable windows ? When Beckham went to Italy in 08/09, LA Galaxy were furious when they discovered he would not be back for the start of the 2009 MLS season in April. He is the "franchise player", and with sponsorship and endorsements galore for both himself and the team based on his presence, whether he plays or not, they stood to lose a substantial sum. The simple reason he could not play for LA Galaxy that year until the end of June ? The European transfer window was closed. The North American one was open, but he couldnt move back until the European one opened. So to use the example of Don Cowie .... when the English window opened at the end of June do you think he would come here for July and a little bit of August until the English season restarted or would he rather go on a well earned break ..... There are also two other things to consider in this equation .... What if his club thought he might be sold to one of the OF in the coming season? He could not play for two clubs in the same league in the same year without special clearance? would they think it wise to go through all the extra paperwork for a 6 week transfer? and what about the chance of injury? At the end of the day I support the idea for change, and moving the season a few weeks earlier to give some leeway for a winter break might also be a good idea, but not moving it by months. I do have a problem with a 10 team league though. It basically means that every single team other than Celtic / Rangers are fighting relegation from day 1 of each season. The 12 team league and the split may well be a farce (and it is), but this season, we would regard it as a tremendous achievement to make the top 6 and play out our season without fear of relegation and with 5 'meaningless' games (in terms of the championship) against the likes of Celtic, Rangers, Hearts etc. I support a 16 team league, in fact 3 leagues of 16 rather than 10-10-10-12. Thats 6 more ambitious teams from the juniors or non-league allowed in and more excitement .... Each team plays the other once at home, and once away, guaranteed. no silly splits and no messing around with the natural way a league should function. 2 teams promoted and two teams relegated from divisions above/below and a further two teams above or below that to be involved in playoffs. teams given 12 months to make stadium compliant with the league above if there is a criteria in place so they can use higher income from that league to offset the costs, bottom league should also allow promotion/relegation to/from the junior or non-league ranks. As the number of league games could potentially be reduced from 36 or 38 down to 30, an enhanced regional cup could also be looked at which would hopefully offset some of the income issues. Fans like their club to win things, and to be involved in edge of the seat nailbiters .... so better structure to the cups, more chances for lower league clubs to progress via playoffs or winning their leagues and less barriers to that progress is key for me as opposed to what will become yet another stagnation scenario.

  10. Tokely for me. The fact that he's defied his critics from day one by constantly upping his game and proving his worth time and time again, coupled with his never say die (unless shouting it at the poor sod he's charging down at the time) attitude, is what sets him apart from most others. If you had to choose one player who epitomised what ICT have been about since day 1, then it would be Tokely.

  11. First off, I've not been involved in the work that's been happening with the Trust, CAFE and the Club, but I was at the Scottish Supporters Direct conference when CAFE gave a presentation and my comments are based on that alone. One of the main things I took away from that presentation and conversation afterwards was that attendance cost was nowhere near the top of the list of priorities...quite the opposite. In fact, Disable Supporters Associations at many clubs promote the idea of them contributing in the same way as everyone else and dislike the presumption that "physically/mentally disabled = financially disabled". What is important to them is that clubs have facilities which allow them, as much as possible, to enjoy the matchday experience the same as the rest of us. What's more, given the opportunity, they are more than happy to assist in the process of making that happen...from identifying the areas that need improved, to finding the funds to make it happen. What will be achieved in the long run is anyone's guess, but I do know that we can all sit around and presume to know what the club should or should not be doing to make things more accessible for particular groups and you could could ask 100 fans and get 100 different answers....and still not get it right. I think it's great that we're now moving towards a way for one of those groups to give focused and meaningful input, and it's even better that the club are embracing the process.

  12. You should write to Rangers chairman Alistair Johnston or Chief exec Martin Bain about that. I'm quite sure either of these gentlemen would treat your complaint seriously and take the matter up with Miller. Can't think why you would have wanted Miller's autograph all the same....

  14. All this nonsense about the ref's needs to stop. Surely if he really wanted rangers to win he would have given that penatly for handball against cox ... I dont think either were a penalty but at the end of the day a mistake is a mistake so how about we get our feet back on the ground and be delighted with a draw against last year's SPL champions. I think everyone needs a reality check cos i for one was delighted with the performance on the boys and think it was a superb result

  16. Think you should have another look at that on youtube m8, the Dundee United player pulls at hooper until he spins around then the keeper takes him out after Hooper knocks the ball away thats 2 reasons for giving a penalty within seconds but he can still think of a reason not to give it.

  18. As i said in the match thread I'm a Celtic fan, i thought that this would be relevant with yet another honest mistake in Rangers favour yesterday. I know most fans outside of the old firm think that the old firm always get all the decisions but i cant really think of any dodgy decisions that Celtic have benefited from over the last three seasons, now i know that they probably have benefited from some somewhere along the line but i wouldn't have noticed them as im biased in favour of Celtic however i strongly doubt that they or any other club in Scotland have benefited from anywhere near the same amount of blatantly wrong decisions as Rangers have at a time when it has been essential for Rangers very existence that they make the champions league. Now put yourself in the refs shoes, if you supported Rangers and you knew if they didn't get into the champions league they could go bankrupt would you be able to turn down a penalty claim from Rangers or would you find yourself looking for reasons to give them penalties or to chop of goals for the other team? Another thing is aren't refs supposed to be marked down for poor performances and be demoted if they keep performing badly? How then was Dougie Mcdonald allowed to keep on making mistakes in Rangers favour without being demoted? Could people please click on the following link, read the article then post your views on the subject http://top50honestmistakes.blogspot.com/
