  1. OK, I'll say it, after todays performance why the hell is he being called up. Absolutely rubbish, short of pace, no tackle, nothing in the air, it bemuses me how he started. I know the boy has talent, but ready for the SPL, I'm not so sure. We were 1000% better when Doran came on and even Shane had more to offer. cheers Disgruntled red dots in this corner please>>>

  2. Im not too worried yet. You cant put 10 new players together and expect them to hit the ground running. Its gonna take a wee while to gel and understand each others game. Im sure it will come good in the next half dozen gmes or so :) and remember, ICT, HISTORICALLY speaking....are notoriously slow starters!

  3. Jesus, overreaction or what??? Overall many positives from a team who are still to learn how to play with each other. Positives - Tudor Jones and Piermayr both look cracking captures with Tansey also contributing in spells. We created a number of chances Negatives - Lack of composure in front of goal (match fitness should hopefully change this), Aldred is sound in the air but needs more agression when the ball is on the ground - at this level you simply cannot back off from a distance as a centre half (Hogg should be fit enough for next week though), Hayes still getting caught in possession in bad areas (suppose this is the curse of attacking players) and Officials (four sound penalty claims and a linesman who could not see a ball a yard over the line - even the referee 25 yards out could see this). Otherwise frustrating to lose a game like this. I think the shot was even going wide till Esson got an unluckly glove on it.

  4. We wuz robbed! Missed a hatload of good chances and had a couple of stonewall penalty claims turned down. I think 5 - 3 would have been a reasonable reflection of the game. Am I disappointed? Yes. Am I down hearted? No. It was a bright enough started but then Hibs took control and could and probably should have got a couple. We started coming back into it at the end of the half and then totally dominated the 2nd half. We will play worse and win this season. I have to say I am really encouraged. There were several occasions when the lack of familiarity with the new team mates showed - notably when Tom Aldred played a measured back pass to Essons right foot - but when they get used to each other I think we have a good team in the making. Hogg will certainly stengthen the back and the goals will come. All the new signings look decent. We have failed to score in the opening 2 matches but that will come. The important thing is we are creating chances by the hatload and a bit more sharpness, composure or luck is all that is required. I don't know much about Mackay but if he is the kind of striker who can capitalise on the half chances that come when the ball is driven low into the box then he will revel in the way the team played today. Given that the players have hardly played together I thought it was an excellent performance and I really enjoyed the match. I thought Doran was the stand out player when he came on - he made good space and his control on the first touch was top class. For me it looks as though we are going to see some really attractive football this year. We may be bottom just now but come the end of the season we are much more likely to be bottom of the top six than bottom of the bottom six. Think positive. We are only 4 points off top spot.

  5. Never seen him today but I think some on here are being a bit harsh. So he had a bad game. If thats all there is to go on then why are so many other players still hero's. Everyone had at least one bad game last season but nobody is calling for them to be put out on loan. Nick started in 35 games and came of the bench in a further 4 last season. Is that not far better experience than he'll ever gain in a lower team loan spell? He was also very close to being awarded Player of the Year last season as voted for by the same fans who are now slating him. There was me thinking it was only the gutter press who built someone up to knock him down again.

  6. New official website is now in "live development" at http://ictfc.com Why "Live Development"?....well, because we still have a couple of things to switch on and one or two bits of information to add for some areas. The existing site at www.ictfc.co.uk will continue to operate in parallel for a little bit, just until we make sure the platform is holding up as planned/expected. We've calculated for plenty of resources and stuff so we don't predict any issues....but this is the internet we're dealing with Please try not to jump all over us for things straight off the bat...give yourself a few visits to get the feel for the site, then we'll happily listen to any critique you have to offer....and set up a suitable vehicle for that to take place. One of the main projects we're still working on, but hope to complete before the end of the weekend, is the player/match stats. This is a project that has been ongoing for years and we're on the final leg of getting it complete. It's taken (literally) hundreds of hours to input all the data so far and the finish line is in sight. The other item near the top of the list is tidying up and revamping the layout of the online shop....again, should happen within the next couple of days. Scotty is taking a well deserved break this weekend, so I'm on my own and will be busy at game tomorrow....so please take it easy on me!!!

  7. Sorry Alex, I like a happy clap myself, but he was anonymous. He may have started x amount of games............ whatever, but how many of those games was he effective in. Today he was a passenger which Butcher identified and replaced him, but we played with 10 men for too long. At the risk of repeating myself, he will be a quality and quantity player one day.............today was not that day.

  8. i was going to write a long summary of my views of todays game but this sums it up exactly the way i saw it if we werent creating chances i would be a lot more worried, it just didnt click today and i put that partly down to the amount of newcomers in the team. Having said that the ref and linesmen were at fault of quite a few occasions and the ref should have at least given us one of the numerous penalty appeals we had. I think given a few weeks training together and another couple of games under their belts we have the basis of a strong team. I thought there were some very encouraging performances today, Piermayr looked strong in the tackle and read the game well. Jones looks an outstanding player, very composed on the ball and has a very good eye for a pass. Tansey looked a little quiet in the first half but came onto a game in the second half, he was very unlucky not to score near the end. Tade worked extremely hard and will cause SPL defences all sorts of problems with his strength Ross and Gillet didnt have great games however i am sure Terry will let them know in no uncertain terms that there is strong competition for both of their places and that should hopefully kick them into action i was certainly disappointed/frustrated after the game but upon reflection i think i have seen enough to conclude that we will gel sooner rather than later

  12. Och well, since MFR have been promoting their coverage in another thread, I might as well balance this up and, equally shamelessly, also give a brief summary of what the BBC has to offer. BBC Scotland sports programming on Saturdays runs from 12 noon until 7pm and will normally include:- * Live commentary from Caley Thistle games home and away, plus progress reports on other Scottish games on 92-95FM across the Highlands and Islands and sometimes also on AM or FM across Scotland. * Live commentary also online. Availability outside the UK is, as always, subject to contractual conditions. * Open All Mics covering all SPL matches and some from the lower leagues on 103.5-105FM. * TV updates and full time report on BBC 1 Scotland from 4:30pm. * Your Call and Sports Report end on to Sportsound. Outwith the Saturday football envelope:- * Sportscene SPL highlights. * Online SPL highlights. * Commentary on non-Saturday games online and, where frequency arrangements allow, live on air as well.

  13. Feel sorry for the players who put in a good performance and got not even a point for their effort. Quality goalie, the back line is looking solid again, central midfield was impressive,Doran has come back an even better player, you know what to expect from Hayes and Sutherland played well, the team is almost looking like a top six team all we need now are strikers, we know what to expect from Foran which is to bust his gut and chip in with goals and we know that Tade will try hard but isnt an out and out goal scorer, so I'm not quite sure where the goals are going to come from. I think the team will improve more with time but without an out and out goal scorer to play with either Tade, Foran or whoever, I think we will be just about ok but the game is about goals and without them we may not do as well as hoped.

  14. that would be demoralising dont want that for the lad hes a great player that has a lot to offer a few games on the bench maybe but not a loan out esspecially since over the course of the season we will need him to come in if players get ijured

  15. Not the end of the world, it's their first win here in 10 attempts. Another weeks training will make all the difference to match sharpness.

  17. thought we were quite poor first half. hibs could have been 2-0 up at break. Esson excellent display Piermayr looked ok needs to get throw ins away much faster Tokely days may be numbered replaced by hogg next week i hope Aldred won most of his headers Gillet worst player in team. shocking first touch which resulted in him having to hoof ball away. can't/ does'nt kick with right foot. caused a couple of problems with sliced clearances and pathetic pass backs to esson. replaced by shinnie next week Ross totally innefective out right. will be better if playing behind striker. rightly hooked Jones nice touch and some good passing. looks slow and cumbersome. thank goodness he is 6ft 3ins as he does not seem to be able to jump off the ground was struggling to win midfield headers against smaller players because of this. hopefully when match fit will be an asset to team Tansey not convinced. will wait and see Hayes never thought i would ever say this, my hero had a shocking display. first touch pathetic, tripping over ball, running and not been able to take ball with him. this eventually cost us the match when he lost posseion for hibs to break away and score winner. may be a bench player this season Foran tried his best Tade great energy. was causing hibs problems. surprised he was hooked dorran man of the match for the time he was on. good pace. pity he did'nt have a go a couple of times. turned game in our favour. if only we could have taken one chance may take a few games for team gel. next week becomes a must win. losing becomes a habbit. . worrying on todays display that we dont have anyone who is a natural finisher. we will definately not have a player who can score 20 plus goals this season
