  1. He doesn't look to see where the ball is and leads with his arm . DC what are you on about ? this is your gawd knows how manyeth post justifying the sending off, and you are still wrong. Of course you are going to look and see where your opponent is before you jump to challenge him for a header - there's no point in challenging otherwise. You can even check again if you have time. If you can see where the ball has been passed from (or in this case lumped up the park from) as a professional you should be able to judge the flight of it, and where you/ opponent and ball intersect. Tansey did. As for your "interpretation" of the laws of the game, they are just that - laws. There is no interpretation. Law 12 (fouls & misconduct) lays them out perfectly well. The referee can only send Tansey off for either "serious foul play" or "violent conduct" There is no such offence as "leading with the arm" I can see no evidence of either of these offences in the highlights. He could only caution Tansey for "unsporting behaviour" which again there is no evidence of. He could have awarded a direct free kick for any number of described offences, including "jumps at an opponent" in a manner that the referee considers "careless, reckless or using excessive force" That is the offence that you have described, and that is the proper outcome according to the Laws of the Game. As my dad would say "gie's peace", but I won't hold my breath for you having the good grace to change your mind.

  2. Butcher will get in bother for criticising refs. Hayes probably will as well. Kenny Shiels will get in bother for criticising refs. When will the SFA officials get their fekkin heads out of the sand and realise that all the criticism is justified. The standard and consistency of refereeing in Scotland is abyssmal and needs to be dealt with now.

  3. Having now had the time to watch the footage, and also look at it frame by frame as it was being processed, there are some definite talking points in there. 1. Tansey's card was a complete crock of ****. Terry's analysis of "assault by fingernail" is very accurate and GT's elbow goes nowhere near Samaras. To be (slightly) fairer to Samaras than some have been, he did get contact from GT that may have merited some reaction from the player, but the dying swan reaction was OTT to say the least. Was it a booking and a free-kick? perhaps. Was it a red card, no way !!! The ref can also be seen clearly indicating the elbow motion as his red card decision, and as the elbow gets nowhere near the player's face then surely it is cut and dried as being the wrong decision. 2. Seconds prior to that Meekings was hauled to the ground by Stokes in a tussle that should have merited an ICT free-kick. No card needed, but the Celtic player did lay hands on him and pull him down. If that was given, the events of barely 2 seconds later would not have happened !!!! 3. Both goals were very close to being offside !!! Depending on how you view them you could easily make a case for the first one, and the players themselves are appealing loudly on the second one Personally, I do not think it is an OF bias, and I dont think the refs are corrupt as some have suggested on here and on other sites .... I think in this case, the referee is simply incompetent and should not be employed at this level. The commentary team on the radio during the game, and pundits after the game have all been able to list numerous decisions in different games to back up this theory and we are just one more team to add to the list. I do however take issue with the idea that's floating around Twitter and Facebook right now that both Terry Butcher and Jonny Hayes may be in trouble with the SPL for comments made in the aftermath. Terry on the radio, and Jonny on Twitter. If they do, then thats another crock of ****. I heard Terry's interview but didnt see what JH tweeted until now (something about clipping Tansey's fingernails cos they are lethal? or was it the 14 man Celtic comment?) ... Terry's interview was clearly that of an angry man who was trying his best not to overstep the mark but what can you say in the face of such incompetence ! I thought he did very well and didnt say anything that would get him into trouble .... As for Jonny's tweets ? just banter, nothing I can see to get worked up about ... they did use all 3 subs after all !!! Hopefully the SPL can put their efforts where they are most needed and get the refereeing sorted out. It is spoiling the game and something has to be done. Apart from anything else, the notion that the referee's report and its contents are like a tablet handed down to Moses and therefore gospel regardless of what actually happened, and what can be proved to have happened is totally and utterly wrong. Referees make mistakes, and maybe 1 in 10 (a generous figure) is prepared to say that .... The rest hide behind their reports and get away with rampant incompetency every week. Maybe its time for "performance related pay" for officials? ..... you get 50% of your fee for reffing the game, and you get the other 50% if you dont make yourself the most important player on the park or the subject of all the after match discussions ... maybe hitting these tosspots in the wallet, the same way as we hit clubs or players for indiscretions or bad behaviour is only fitting ...... ?

  5. further analysis of the game footage. the ref must have seen it more like this.

  6. What I always wonder about in these situations, is had Tansey only been yellow carded for the challenge, how many of these so-called "Celtic fans" would be saying it should of been red, or even calling for it to be looked at again in the belief that the punishment should be worse? I can do tell you how many, and it's the same number as their IQ - zero!

  7. Wow, just noticed this. 5 of Celtic's last 6 opponents have had a player sent off! Celtic won those 5 games.......and didn't win the only one that was 11 a side, a home game v Hibs. And it won't surprise you that throughout that time, Celtic didn't get any red cards themselves. Funny how their criticism of refs has gone a bit quiet recently. The campaign seems to have worked.

  8. The bottom line is that he was eyeing up Samaras and not the ball - there was no need for the challenge as he was never going to win it - it was a yellow. But he did win it, didn't he?

  9. I just don't get those folk who say we shouldn't appeal. Regardless of whether we think there is a not a cat in hell's chance of getting a fair hearing, you have to make the point. Not to do so means that by default you accept the current situation of poor refereeing, an inept (or worse) appeals panel and cheating by professional players. The more often injustices are made, the more important it is to draw attention to them. The club will look at the film very carefully, talk to Greg and if they conclude the decision was clearly wrong, then they simply have to appeal. TB's "assault by fingernail" comments after the match were spot on and it may be that he gets himself into trouble for daring to criticise the establishment in the way he did. I have stuck up for referees before because it is an extremeny difficult job and decisions are made in a split second. In general, bad decisions even themselves up over the course of the season and if it was a case of it just being a day when the big decisions went against us then I would be with Dougal on this - but it isn't. Apart from the unjust sendings off, we've had penalties and offside goals awarded against us but we get nothing. These decisions change games and there can be little doubt that with a fair split of big decisions going our way we would be comfortably mid table by now. No wonder fans stay away when matches are decided by players bending the rules of the game and referees letting them get away with it.

  10. A breath of fresh air - people are too willing to be offended these days.

  11. What annoys me, is not just that the referee got a couple of decisions wrong, it's that he's proven himself to be nothing but a coward. The fact he cowardly refused to meet with Butcher at the game just proves that.

  12. You need to learn the laws of the game I'm afraid. That challenge would not be construed as violent conduct according to FIFAs laws of the game.

  13. Am i one of the grounded few who doesnt feel offended or upset at chants by either of the OF? Sure....i agree...most of them probably have no connection or understanding with what they sing about, but jesus.....its only words and songs at the end of the day. Its not like they are clubbing seals or something. We are way too easily offended these days The Scottish National Anthem is about events from hundreds of years ago. Doesnt The English national anthem have a verse about crushing Rebellious Scots? Nah....mibees im just thick skinned....but i think theres far more worrying trends to put focus on in this day and age

  14. Do you have any evidence? Did you complain to stewards? I had more of a problem with the home end not being filled up with more Caley fans. Bit of extra cash for the club letting the Invernesian green and whites pay to get a ring side seat of how win by cheating. They are supporting a team with no Honor and deserve no respect. What was the story behind the man and boy being chucked out of the North stand, I take it his dad was being a knob, the boy must have been mortified as I saw him covering his face. Felt sorry for the young kid he was in floods of tears with our fans shouting and showing a fair bit of hatred to them for being in the home end - the kid was only about ten and while I totally agree they shouldn't have been in there our own reaction was a bit extreme as they didn't appear to be causing any bother. SPL rules and all that I'm sure but FFS we had 1300 empty seats approx, I've sat with away fans in years gone by and only ever been treated with good banter and certainly never with the vitriol and hatred that was shown to this father son combo.

  16. Nice to see that so many are concerned for the welfare of this drunken bully with a penchant for wife battering (and no it's not alleged, he's admitted it on several occasions whist indulging in yet another one of his self pitying confessions). Saddens me that despite his history adulation still abounds. Perhaps it's the huge contribution he made to ICT that attempts to justify this forgiving approach? Perhaps not. Surprised a campaign for inclusion in the Hall of Fame hasn't emerged yet. Still, only a matter of time. This isn't a maverick like Jimmy Johnstone or George Best. This is an excuse for a man who batters and abuses but only those who don't hit back. Scum. Intelligent people should know better.

  17. What is it with all these appeal threads? There is no point appealing its not going to change the result even if it was successful we are still going to be left with 0pts from yesterday Yes the standard of refereeing is getting worse but we should remember that referees are there to do a job and mistakes have been made since football started over 100 years ago Its called human error no-one is perfect and some ICT fans need to remember that before mouthing off and claiming there is some sort of anti ICT bias Lets look to the future not dwell on what is now the past dougal

  18. Not worth appealing this one as the ref clearly spots Tansey looking for Samaras before leading with his arm . It's a sending off by the letter of the law , a soft red card but a red card all the same .

  19. I didn't give you a red dot. I'll ask again - what law of the game meant that it was a warranted red card for Tansey? Violent conduct .

Administration pending, unless... How can we go from SupercaleygoballisticCelticareatrocious in the year 2000, to Scottish Cup Winners in 2015, playing in Europe and just 9 years after lifting the Cup; Administration. Mismanagement and our demise was hastened by the appointment of Scot Gardiner. Ever since then, ludicrous decision making has seen our stock plummet whilst 'shady' dealings were investigated. The failed Concert Company, the Battery Storage, the Statkraft contract have all ended badly leaving the club facing insolvency.

That's another fine mess you've got us into.

      Chairman Ross Morrison resigns

Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June.  More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.

Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”

Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.

“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.

“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”
