Winning the cup would surely gain more money than 1 extra home game against the OF and realistically 5th or 6th placed prize money over 7th. I would rather finish 11th and win the cup over finishing 5th or 6th anyday!! Scrap that I would rather win the cup than finish 2nd or 3rd. Winning the cup puts you in Europe a further round than 3rd and the same as 2nd. And no one remembers who finished 2nd or 3rd in a random season years ago. Winning the cup has defined a lot of team's histories and is their greatest achievement. Killie in 97 Hearts in 98 St. Mirren 87 Motherwell 91 etc. I can list these off the top of my head but couldn't tell you who finished 2nd or 3rd in these years.3 points

What do you mean? My goal was lucky! Don't know who the Pars' player is but he can't believe what he's seeing. He had exactly the same expression earlier in the game when Barrowman scored.2 points

Has to be the Cup as it is our sole chance of a trophy. Not winning the league and don't have any interest in who does. 'Top Six' - a created nonentity formed to bring (allegedly) stimulation for supporters for the entire season (according to pishapedia), doesn't come with a trophy. I want my cup final, my day out at Hampden. Straightforward, if a choice has to be made.2 points

Good night with the non-travelling support in the Caley Club, absolute respect for the 54 ICT fans that did go, you looked well chuffed on sky. 1st half was dire, 2nd slightly better, but be honest - you have to feel sorry for Smith. He shouldn't be allowed near any sharp objects, bridges etc. tonight. Golobart was good again tonight, hope that the injury isn't as serious as it looked-there was a fair degree of twisting going on. G. Shinnie was bullied off the ball at the opener, and Rosscoe looked off the pace to start with. No idea what was going on with Foran & Hayes, but Jonny looked like he'd had enough of whatever it was. I'm happy with that result, though.2 points

If we are safe in the league I would love a day at Hampden of course but would finishing top six not be better financially in the long run than say a final appearance?1 point

hey, off to the tennis forum for you............... I am overjoyed at this victory. Too many gloom merchants looking at us as relegation fodder and just another team. We are neither. We are a decent team and deserve a bit more respect from more than just our own fans,1 point

No I don't think so.............the Pars are a shockingly poor side and enjoyed the few miniutes of adrenalin rush afforded to them before we overwhelmed them. It's not a verb that sits well with us but in honesty we bossed three parts of that game and should have won it sooner. Let's be more assertive about our side, especially with the likes of Shinnie and Tade and Hayes in the team..............we are going places.1 point

From what Butcher said, it sounds like Foran was given the task of firing Hayes up on the park....job done I would say!!! The camaraderie among our squad has to be the best we've had in a long time, so I'm sure it will all be forgotten by the morning (if not already).1 point

... BBC live text : 2128: Roman Golobart slides in to make a Bobby Moore-like saving tackle as Ryan Thomson eyed a shot at goal. The Pars' Thomson slams the turf in frustration, Golobart strokes his (own) beard.1 point

I would say winning medals and competing in Europe is better than hoping to get into a play-off place in the Championship. Wherever he goes, he has to believe he can play in the first team. After all, if he doesn't believe in himself, who else will? Unlike Rooney, I don't think he has to strike whilst the iron is hot. If the service wasn't there for Adam, he would struggle to get noticed. Hayes seems to have a lot more about him. I thought Adam made the right choice in moving sooner rather than later but Hayes will get better and better the more he plays. I hope he stays, don't blame him for moving, even to Celtic - but it might be worth him staying for a year to get back to being red hot.1 point

I fully expect him to sign a PCA this window, he's earned a move to a bigger club. To be honest I'll be very pleased for him if its with a club the size of Celtic - I'd be gutted though if he went to the likes of Dundee Utd or Hibs.1 point

would not surprise me .... given his performances, and who could blame him if he signed it .... but ever hopeful its bull .... where's the emoticon for fingers crossed !!!!1 point

James McPake would be a good signing. Don't think we'll get him though. As regards the League of Ireland, how many good quality first team players have moved from there to the SPL? The last decent player was Noel Hunt. The LoI is pish.1 point
