I enjoyed Terry's post match comment about Tansey's free kick: "He's been threatening to do that for 37 games!"4 points
-
Jeez! were you at the game today??????? Rossco was immense, hardly put a foot wrong, so according to you he should be moved on? we will need his experience next season, his passion for Inverness CT has no equals.4 points
-
He's maybe not as quick as he was but he reads the game better than he did. He was immense yesterday, controlling things at the back, distributing the ball well and when the ball needed hoofing he made sure it was properly hoofed. He's still got a couple of SPL seasons in him - which is one more than Grant Munro2 points

Thanks for all the support, Weather was bad but it looks like it will be even worse this coming week so it could have been worse! Good reception from St Mirrren and Caley Thistle as well. Very sore today but happy to be relaxing!2 points

It's not a bizarre argument at all - you give money to that team you sit in the stand at their end, I don't know if you cheer them on or whatever, but barely anyone at TCS really cheer the team on and I would assume they would consider themselves supporters. As I said you become a de facto supporter of that team whatever way you look at it (or 18 teams in your case). It's nothing to do with RC as such. Put it this way if Inverness was magically transported next to Govan I wouldn't understand it if ICT supporters started going to Ibrox for a game, like I said IMO it is supporting a team that is in direct opposition to my own and I don't understand that. I travel a lot and, wherever I go, I try to take in games if there are any. I sit wherever I can get a ticket for and generally, I applaud if I see good football irrespective of who it has come from. That's why I go, I love football. The above doesn't, for me, make me a supporter of any of the 40 odd teams I've seen this year. I know who I support and would prefer to see win. Would I rather watch ICT win one nil at home to Kilmarnock in a dire match or watch Wigan draw three each with Swanse in a feast of flowing football? No contest. football wins every time. For some this makes me a lesser supporter. For me it gives me a greater knowledge of the game and the ability to see it for what it is, particularly when it's played the way it should be. Football nowadays is, in my opinion, full or punters who have no objectivity and little subjectivity. Blindly following irrespectively, unable to see merit in anything other than what they support. Not for me and never has been. Football is what I really support I suppose and I keep my dislike for rugby and cricket, my hate for Nick Griffin, David Cameron and Danny Alexander! As I said if you go and pay to watch a team with some kind of regularity (which makes you a suppporter IMO) that are in direct opposition to us I don't understand that. If you go to a different random game based purely on where you are working then IMO that doesn't necessarily make you a supporter. For example if I was woking in Glasgow for a week and was very bored and wanted to watch some live football I'd maybe go and watch a Queens Park or Partick Thistle game, but I would never go to a Rangers/Celtic game they are our direct opposition and I wouldn't want to support them financially (or otherwise). This is why I cannot understand why ICT supporters would go to Victoria Park next season. Nothing to do with you being percieved as a 'lesser supporter' just a different kind I suppose. Perhaps a kind that I just can't fully comprehend. I would rather watch ICT win in a crappy game than a fantasic Man Utd v Man City 2-2 game. For you the game is more important than the team, for me the team comes first. Though obviously I'd love to watch ICT win through playing exciting and entertaining football. As for hating those 3 guys, you'll get no argument from me!2 points

When you say get behind OUR team. Who do you mean in your case? Yawwwn funny I keep getting asked this despite attending more home games than most on here including a number of mods It never fails to amaze me how many cyber fans this club has that rarely show up yet spout their nonsense and undying love of the club on here Like it or not I'm Nottingham Forest and ICT although I seriously am questioning the latter with some of the roasters on here Dougal I only missed 1 home game this season, do I pass the Dougal barometer of supporterdom? I wanted RC to be promoted and I hope they stay up along with us for seasons to come. Benefits us both financially and interms of support. People can dislike County if they want as much as they want, helps fuel the fire and makes things more interesting, I've lost could of the folk who've said that they can't wait for the ICT v RC games next season (from both sides of the bridge). You might be happy to go and watch RC play but I certainly would not and I would imagine 99.9% of ICT would feel the same. If I felt the need to take in some different footie I'd go to watch Inverness City or perhaps even a Clach game but I don't get thinking behind going to watch RC as an ICT supporter. The only time I will be going to Dingwall for a game will be to support ICT in a thorough thrashing of travelling people. Think you are way out on your percentage analysis Fraz. Perhaps it might reflect the CTO membership (probably not in my opinion) but in no way does in provide a balance of our support or County's. I am well aware of many people who regularly visit both grounds although have a preference for one or the other. Reckon there will be plenty, especially older fans, who buy season tickets for both grounds in the hope of having an SPL match at home every Saturday. I'm not one of the County haters either. Hope they do well against all but ICT. Want to see Highland football really cemented into theScotiish game and make treks up and down the A9 even more painful for our friends. I will also take in games at Dingwall no doubt. Love my football, especially when it's played properly. The game will always come first for me. If it's played best by my team, that's a bonus! I'm basing my percentage on the fact that I've never spoken to anyone in real life that actively attend both grounds (and thus suppport them both). IMO if you attend a ground with any kind of regularity and put money in their coffers then you are a de facto supporter of that team like it or not. I could sort of see why people might go and watch RC when they were in a different division to us and therefore not in direct competition to us but now that they are as an ICT supporter I can't understand it. I appreciate that there are people who just want to 'take in a game' who may not have a close affiliation to ICT but that's different. As for being a fan of football first I, even if RC were playing silky samba style football and ICT were hoofing it all over the place *cough cough* I would still not go and watch them, I am an ICT supporter first and as I mentioned in my previous post there are other football alternatives (not to mention ICT away). I would find it strange if a Dundee Utd fan regularly attended Dundee game or a Rangers fan attended Celtic games. Clearly you, others you mention (not to mention Dougal) see it differently from me and I'm not trying to say that you are any less of a supporter or anything like that because everyone supports the team in different ways. To me though it's just strange and I canne fathom it.2 points

If every comment about ICT wasn't negative then perhaps there would be less reason to doubt your allegiances Dougal. Seems you found it easy enough to omit the swathes of ICT fans who went down to Hampden to cheer on their rivals and the good luck message from the club itself. Yes we do give them stick. This is the nature of a rivalry. However it has to be one of the most good natured derbies in the country if not the world.2 points

Tansey is top class at his best and frustrating on an off day but there's no denying his quality. He's young and the misplaced passes that he makes every so often are to be expected. But some of the balls he pulls off especially the wide diagonal he loves so much are defence shredding. over the next 2 years we will see him mature and these mistakes will be taken out of his game and we will have a quality player on our hands. He's been very impressive recently and earlier in the season he was them same next season will be his year. Hayes-the fact the Greg and ritchie both let him take the penalty unfortunately says to me he's leaving. A parting gift if you will, but I'm not giving up hope. Look at Hogg looked to further his career down south didn't work out and he re-signed for us. But if it is his last game hes leaving us with great memories, and the greatest of respect. He's given us so many great moments and goals. I don't think any of us will forget what he's done for us no matter where he goes. Both tansey and Hayes stood out for me today. Both were magnificent. Delighted to end this treturous season with a win. praying for a good pre season, some fresh faces but I agree with terry the majority of this squad is worth keeping they know what it's about and will be better next season.2 points

Unfortunately, PT, although it was the tenth event, it is only the 9th completed end-to-end. The logistics last year of making Hamilton in 3.5 days ended that record. Even so, I'm personally delighted to have completed every 'possible' one, as well as bring back the fun of Highland Marching. I can't wait to see the fixture calender for next season so I can book time off work for next year's event!!! As usual, there'll be a diary. Unsure when this'll be online, but like I said, pictures are already emerging on the HM FB page.1 point

Pissing rain all day and sat glued to the telly watching. Some great stuff played by Celtic (Hearts were awful and I think Hibs could beat them next week) but the rest of the day was ridiculous. The end of the EPL, winning, losing, goals, red cards, up, down and all the rest was ridiculous. And I can safely say, I support nobody involved! Great day of football which reminds me just how important the Euros are going to be in filling a huge void over the summer. Reminder to self: Remember to look out my France, Sweden and Ukraine tops.1 point

"Inverness wrapped up their seasonus horriblis with a comfortable win over a reserved Hibernian. Two second half set pieces sealed the points for the homesters to ensure they stayed above the Cup finalists. Greg Tansey and Jonny Hayes supplied the finishes in a brighter second half against an understrength Hibs side." Hibs report completed with a wee cameo role from Caley100 who tells us how he saw the season through John Smith's eyes, for good or bad. http://caleythistleonline.com/page/index.html/_/reports-2011-12/inverness-ct-v-hibernian-report-r949 That's all from the editorial team for this season. Hope you have enjoyed the articles and we will be back for pre-season raring to go. Re: "The Million Dollar Question" I dont think its much to shout about, having claimed only your second back to back win in a whole season, in a game which was meaningless, against a weakend team who had a cup final coming up the following week. Things on the pitch have to improve greatly next season, or we will be in deep trub!1 point

Cheers PT. Was great to see yourself after so long too. The win will make your trip back south a more pleasurable one I am sure! I've just calculated the route once more using gmap pedometer. The initial milage was plotted as being 160 miles and was as close to 'as the crow flies' as you can get. So much so that the route didnt deviate from that line by any more than 2-miles either side of it. Unfortunately we had to change our course on more than one occasion, all due to weather circumstances. Our total milage therefore has come out as being 172.1 miles - the first time, we think, that we have added to our planned milage, rather than reduce it. Once again, many thanks to everyone for their support. Some pictures are on our facebook page. If anyone has any photos/video's of the Highland March from this year or others, please PM me as it'd be great to see them. cheers1 point

I dont like county. Its a good old fashioned, healthy dislike for a local rival. It begins and ends with football....outwith that, i have nothing against Dungwall. I hope next season that Ross County lose every game and get relegated. I too cannot get my head around the fact that ICT "fans" will regularly turn up and contribute to the coffers of County. Maybe this mentality is strictly a highland thing? I already belive ICT has the least "fanatical" support in Scotland. By that, i mean, i feel that a lot of people who attend ICT games are fans of football more than they are dedicated fans of of ICT. hence why this sort of behaviour dont suprise me. Maybe im too old school? I myself, while i used to be a regular attendee at ICT games, till a few years ago, and whilst i love to see them doing well, my passion for them is nowhere near what i had for Caley in the Highland league.1 point

It's nonsense to describe him as 'beyond the SPL in terms of quality' at this point. He has potential but nothing more at this point and would hardly register as a leading CB in a survey of all fans who watch the top league. Appreciate our game is not the best but Roman certainly didn't look like he was playing at a level beneath him at any point this season. If anything, at times, the converse was true. Wish him well for the future and thank him for his efforts. He can say thanks to us for his wages and the opportunity to play at a much higher level than he has ever played previously!1 point

Really hope he stays. He's be a fantastic player for the team in all the leagues and no one in the team is more passionate for the club and trys as hard as he does. It was a big mistake in losing munro last season and it would be an eqaul blow to loss rossco!1 point

For the penalty it looked like it was the "who ever gets to the ball first can take it". Foran nearly got there but then the keeper kicked it towards Hayes. To me i'm not going to look too much into Hayes taking the penalty. And it is fair to say that Hibs are going to get hammered in the final. Good performance by us. MOTM Tansey.1 point

Well we finally stumble to the end of another season. Many have said it is the worst that they have experienced as a supporter and i wouldn't disagree. My attendances have been limited by various issues, but one was definately the product on the park. The lack of continuity and disjointed nature of the team did not sit well with the fans and no doubt was also difficult for those playing. Some of it was forced on the management but not all. The days when you knew the 11 and subs in your sleep are long gone. Only Rosscoe remains from that fabulous library of memories. Will the sap rise next August? Only time will tell. Highlight of the season for me ( in games that i actually attended) was Mr Hayes scoring a Maradona-esque goal having run round half of the Hibs team at Easter Road. Possibly the best goal that I have ever seen "live". Also being lucky enough to be in the vicinity of a poor chap who took really quite ill at Pittodrie and being able to lend a hand. Lizi I hope that all is well . I know deep down that things will never again be as they were. The pilot light is still on but my passion for Caley and football in general will never be re-ignited to its former glory. Sad.........but perhaps inevitable. So guys.............enjoy the break and I will see some of you on the terraces from time to time next year for sure. PS Have just put my name down for a puppy. Looks like he is going to be called Ross! It was going to be Rosscoe until a work colleague said...." Is that like....Ross County!!!"1 point

Ok ymip, can you name any of those good enough Scottish players who'll join us for under £700 a week? There's as much chance of unearthing a gem from Colwyn Bay as there is from Raith or Arbroath. Butcher has brought in some not so good players but then so has every manager we've had. Some of those we've though of as duds are maybe very good players if they get a chance to string a few games together with the same team. Sadly that is something that hasn't happened all season. Personally I aint fussed where our players come from but I'd love to watch the same eleven start for a string of games. Alex it's not the fact he's at Colwyn Bay, it's that he's already had a step down from Tramere surely!1 point

- Fans pay £50 to emulate Jonny Hayes and have a square go with Richie Foran. First fan to last a minute going toe-to-toe with the Foranator wins a coconut. - CaleyD challenge: fans and players pay £25 each and have to read three of CaleyD's posts in a row without falling asleep. Winner gets years supply of Nytol. This challenge will require strict drug testing for Pro-Plus, cocaine and crystal meth. - Renegade XI. All the players Renegade has suggested we sign are recruited to play in a charity match against Caley Thistle. Fans flock for miles around to see how that eight foot tall Norwegian whaler works alongside Tana Umanga up front. - Ross County charity approach. We charge everyone £20 for, er, y'know, eh. Yep. - Everyone pays Johndo £10 to go a week without insinuating that he has insider information from within the club. The accuracy of Johndo's 'exclusives/windups/pish' will remain the same for this week. - Instead of TopSixNextYear putting bets on Caley winning 7-1 and Shane Sutherland to score hat-tricks, he donates all his bets for a month to the club. We now have more money than Manchester City and Ladbrokes are bankrupt. - ALternative Maryhill enters a 'Jesus and Mary Chain' look-a-like competition and wins £5 for the club. Sadly it's wasted when the result ofthe competition descends into a massive riot and everyone gets killed.1 point

as far as I am concerned, its a geographic rivalry based on proximity, nothing more, nothing less. I dont hate them (except for the days we are playing them), but I also dont like them. I have already congratulated them on winning the league, they did it on merit and it was deserved. However, it will not stop me ripping the pish at every conceivable opporchancity, and I would expect nothing less from the County fans in return !!! Its called banter, and I look forward to plenty of it next season on here and elsewhere. Wonder if County Air will make a re-appearance ??? When it comes to wider geographics, I am also happy for there to be two teams from the Highlands in the SPL as that gets right up the nose of a few folk down south (something that Robbo loves winding them up about too) .... thats another geographic rivalry, but this time, one where we can actually side with county to wind up the likes of Chick, whose insular paisley patter(ned) comments are frequently more offensive to me than the dingwall Gudgies.1 point
