  1. After doing a bit of digging, I think Goncalves might have been ineligible.......

  2. In the race for the European spots, every single game besides Celtic and Dundee are 6 pointers now. County are 10th, equal with 11th, if they beat us in our game in hand then we will only be 6 points ahead of them. Too many people on here talking about miraculous seasons far too early, its way way too tight to be taking any pride in the league position. We have nothing to boast about yet.

  3. Wouldnt the management choose Elgin so as Gavin can continue to train fulltime with ICT as Elgin are part-time and train evenings in Inverness, he can stay at home, easy for the club management/scout to keep tabs on how he is performing in matches every fortnight, which are only 40 miles away. But all in all, it seems like a good/simple opportunity for all involved. Oh, and this is my first post. Great site.

  4. And they've brought in 22-year-old defender Branislav Micic from FC Sion. Bit of a foreign legion developing over the bridge this month. Wasnt it only a few months ago where twathead manager of theirs was bragging about having mostly Scottish players in his squad?

  7. Clearly if SFL3 football is good enough for a Scotland call up then its good enough to send youngsters on loan.

  13. The reality is that we are in second place with ten games to go to the split. We have games in hand against a few of the teams below us. All we need to do now is equal or better the results of all below us then regroup and alter our battle plan for the final run in. Much like HMS Sneck and Hood did against the Tirpitz.

  18. Incredible! At first I thought you were joking or got the wrong Niculae, but now aged 31 he has indeed got a deal there until the end of next season, at the where club he made a name for himself about 10 years ago. He's certainly been scoring a lot of goals in Romania, but I can't help thinking that bringing back for a former star is something that often placates the fans rather than improves the team. Good luck to him though, and I do like the idea that Sporting Lisbon take our cast-offs.

  19. Other than perhaps feeling they can be a part of something, even 'loosely' .... I know they can easily get that simply by joining CJT and price is certainly no barrier, but as we have found over the years having an identity means something, especially when you do not live in Inverness ..... look at the "Internutters" or the Highland Marchers .....

  21. You can just go ahead and set up a "supporters club" without anyone else's input or permission, but I think you'd both have to consider what the purpose of your clubs would be, and what you'd want/expect from other people or organisations. CaleyJagsTogether is the main supporters' body. Depending on what you want to achieve, you might be better just joining them, and/or posting on this site find out if there are ICT fans in your area.

  28. If we imagine this as a retail transaction I the customer wish to purchase the experience of a competitive game of football at 1500 on a Saturday, with variety provided by competing against a large pool of opponents and visiting different towns and cities. With the sides on as level a playing field as possible in terms of squad size and spending power. Ensuring that you experience the extreme highs and lows that being a football fan affords. With ideally the chance of title glory or even the haunting spectre of a relegation fight. I am not adequately versed in the intricacies of football economics but I am no fool and do not for one minute believe football can survive without money. As much as it pains me to admit it I can imagine that the television monies received for scheduling a game on a Friday or Monday evening compensates financially for the lack of fans attending it does not aid in the creation f atmosphere and punishes those fans that travel to support their team. I do not think anyone other than Celtic will win the league title in the next 5-6 seasons after which rangers may have reached the upper echelons of Scottish football again and may have readjusted to the pace and style of play sufficiently to mount a challenge. It is an unfortunate but insurmountable fact that the old firms stranglehold on the Scottish game has eternally damaged it. As aside from the financial superiority the legions of misguided individuals from all four corners of the country that align themselves with one of the two for no reason other than they are easy to support as or 'my da' followed em' means there will always be an imbalance in this country. I appreciate this has been a rather rambling post but I had 4 espresso's this evening and now can't sleep the point I am trying to make is what I want from any restructure is this: Chance to play lots of different teams throughout the season Money spread out fairly Games scheduled to suit the true fans (those in the grounds NOT on their sofa) Excitement both of glory or humiliation There are elements of 12-12-18 which appeal but I feel its too convoluted over all I'd rather see more teams in the top flight and 3 up 3 down.
