  1. It won't do near as much harm as the inane pessimism emanating from a few of our own fans. If you want to do your part to promote the club and the final then try a bit of positivity....if you're really lucky, it might even help you crack a smile.
  2. Who gives a toss about casual supporters and non football fans - Who gives a feck about the score and the performance yesterday. This is the most defining moment yet in our feckin history and summat I am not going to miss - irrespective of whether there are 3,000 or 10,000 sitting around me. I would rather watch and sing with the people who I know are dedicated to the cause.
  3. Think 6 points out of 9 makes this a decent week for us no?

I see that it is not just the natives in Leith getting restless but a bit in todays Herald tells its own story and picture of old Tel given his next two fixtures are against in form Motherwell and next Wednesday against us things aint going to improve anytime soon. Shell-shocked commander in chief has a battle on his hands with Hibs Published on 3 March 2014 It did not take Terry Butcher long to get the Hibernian look. It was all jokes and stories and joshing from "big Tel" when he breezed in from the north in November. The man's effervescence illuminated Easter Road like floodlights being switched on in a cemetery. That is what the place needed and we have not seen the last of that loud character, but Butcher now cuts a darker, more troubled figure. He has been cloaked by the Hibs malaise, which drains the joy and optimism from a man and replaces them with worry and stress.

  6. Don't know how many times I can repeat the same information. Coaches can be got from local companies sourcing from outwith the area. This comes at a premium price.
  7. I dont really see why HIAL would want to sponsor a football team. Or how they would increase their revenue from it. Will it encourage more charter flights to use the airport. However Diageo have a huge processing plant near Kinloss, have numerous distilleries in the local area and will be creating the largest distillery in Europe near Alness. I would say sponsoring a fresh pure football club from the Highlands strengthens their Global romantic Whisky image to their customers worldwide.
  8. We should definitely be setting the target of Top Six for this season and forgetting previous poster names. If we are going to succeed in the cups then we have to build up confidence in the league. If we play our last cup game on 16/03 we can fully concentrate on the league.
  9. The Bught has already been devalued by the construction of an enclosed area for Inverness City's park as well as severe surface damage for a long way around the bonfire site and unsightly heaps of earth in various places. I would also have to observe that the weekly parkrun is also beginning to wear the perimiter quite markedly. Now I know that some of the Inverness football community tends to get a bit sensitive about any perceived criticism of Inverness City and I don't intend to dissect that particular story once again. But it has always been my belief that the Bught is the wrong place for their park and they should have been given better access to the Northern Meeting Park and Northern Counties cricket club should have been decanted to groundshare with Highland at Fraser Park. I also think that point of view is reinforced by the fact that NCCC has now slipped even further downwards and has been relegated to playing reserve standard cricket in the reserve league. It's not realistic that NCCC in any state, never mind its current one, should have such a stranglehold over a facility like the NMP.
  10. IMO the only reason Shinnie isn't getting a call up it because of that Gordon Strachan. Shinnie is well worthy of a call up, Gordon doesn't know what he's missing out on. I've been saying it for a while now. I think all Graeme can do is keep playing his best.

In final playoff with Henley, Palmer & Mcllroy with Henley winning, ending up fourth. Well done to the young man from Inverness
  12. Think 6 points out of 9 makes this a decent week for us no? Ask me that question again after the next three games. Kingsmills I'm obviously a half full glass kinda girl whilst you're a glass half empty guy ha ha? Top 6 almost confirmed and agreed a big couple of weeks to come. Bring it on! I think we'll be top six net year. Can't see it happening this season, IMHO. I think you may be proved wrong.
  13. Inverness never tires would be better
  14. Like others, I also made a last minute decision to go the game and had to endure sitting amongst the Celtic support (luckily there was nothing to cheer about anyway!) Yogi got it wrong yesterday, the players got it wrong yesterday and we were lucky not to concede more. Just a few observations: The tactics yesterday were wrong. Giving it a "right good go" at Celtic Park is just asking for Celtic to over run us. We started the game playing a straight 4-4-2 as follows: Brill Raven Warren Meekings Shinnie Vincent Draper Tansey Ross McKay Foran Neither Vincent or Ross are natural wingers that will run at the fullback and take them on. This lead to both of them tucking inside on numerous occasions which allowed Shinnie and Raven to press forward into the space. This tactic is all well and good when we can keep the ball and feed it out wide but Draper and Tansey (in particular) were too often caught on the ball or tried the impossible pass through the crowded middle of the park to Foran (more on him later!) and McKay. This left us short at the back and with the pace from Forrest, Stokes and Griffiths, Celtic were often through three on two with little protection for Warren and Meekings. I haven't had the chance to see us under Hughes that often but the thing that really struck me yesterday (and on other occasions) was the difference in style between Butcher and Hughes. Butcher was all about getting the ball forward quickly, getting crosses into the box and seeing that happens. Hughes has certainly got the team passing from the back with the fullbacks pushing onto the halfway line for goal kicks looking to receive the ball. I'm not slating Hughes and I am far from an being against Hughes but I would question the ball retention strategy. I understand the logic of it but for years, we have been a team that have been built upon graft, soaking up pressure and hitting on the counter attack quickly. The way the team set up yesterday was to slow play down which allowed Celtic to get back into shape and gave them the chance to steal back possession quickly. In short, i'm yet to be convinced. I would much preferred to see a formation as follows yesterday: Brill Raven Warren Meekings Shinnie Foran Draper Watkins Vincent/Tansey Ross McKay My last observation (I could make many more but won't!) is centred on Richie Foran. Let me get this in straight away, I am a big Foran fan and I fully agree that we play better when he plays, he has bucket loads of passion for the club and will hopefully become manager at some stage. However, yesterday I was very disappointed in him. Hopefully I am being over critical but I thought his work rate was poor, he was looking to make everything about him and he just didn't look very up for it. I personally prefer him playing the deeper lying midfield role now but yesterday I thought he looked really very poor upfront. He wasn't the only player and it's perhaps harsh to single him out but I think as club captain he needs to take a little bit more responsibility for the teams performance and attitude. I full agree with Yogi when he said the result isn't going to define our season and I think as fans, we need to move on from yesterday now and focus on next weeks cup tie. We've had a fantastic season so far and the players deserve all the praise that they'll get. We really can go far this year so lets get behind the team and cheer them on to a cup double.
  15. We are still in a cup final, a quarter final and they aren't.
  16. I have one cockatiel called Juanjo, and another called Robbo. Incidentally, Robbo ran off with Juanjo's bird and made her pregnant.............oooft
  17. Not only is Shinnie deserving of a call up for Scotland but so is Doran for the Republic of Ireland. Now wouldn't it be something if the 2 of them were up against each other in the Euro qualifiers?
