  1. Hey its the people who are choosing not to be there that will regret it if we win. That's their choice. I am coming all the way from oz for this. I wouldn't dare risk missing us winning our first piece of serious silverware. I'd regret it for the rest of my life if I did.
  2. Seems like Aberdeen are going to bring their biggest ever support to this final. A support over three times that of an average home match. I wonder where they are all coming from. To be fair to us we look like assembling over twice our average home gates for this one and it will certainly be the biggest ever away support in ICT's history. In light of all the reasons for people not to attend matches in the current climate I think we have to be commended for mustering such a large van for such an important battle. In this the 700th anniversary of Bannockburn it should be remembered that 6000 Scots troops won the day against Edwards 18000.

Us fans have a great opportunity to use the United match as a dress rehersal, to have a bit of fun and practice cheering on the team, so I would really like to hear some singing from all areas of the stands on Sunday and show the team what a good support they have. Just like at the final its up to you to take ownership and start some singing. I think this will also be our first home game 20 years on from when our two Highland clubs joined forces, so how about making this weekend a wear your colours weekend starting tomorrow and turn out in good numbers for the quarter final, its only £10 per adult and £5 for children.

When I saw this thread title I instantly assumed it was going to be a discussion about our team's long range shooting.
  5. If people want to risk being sat at home come 4:15pm on 16th March kicking themselves because they missed out on being a part of history...for both ICTFC and Inverness...then that's their lookout. What's more important, IMO (and I'm sure it will be the case) is that everyone who is there gives the team the noisiest, most positive backing they can from the moment the team step onto the pitch until the moment they step off it again.
  6. I hope they go down tbh. Then MacGregor walks away and they go into administration. Nobody deserves to lose the team they support. So I then hope they are liquidated, form a Newco County, start back in the Highland League and slog it out with the likes of Strathspey Jags and Fort Bill to avoid the bottom placed spot every year. Hello down there ;)
  7. No! The league cup is the lesser of the 3 competitions we are in. Both because we are still in with a chance of winning the main cup competition and because there will be significant financial benefit in progressing against Dundee Utd, this Sunday's game is actually more important. Wednesday's game against Hibs is also more important as defeat there could have a serious impact in our bid for a top 3 place. Winning the final on Sunday would be a landmark for the club and obviously very nice but we need our strongest teams possible for the two games ahead of it.
  8. I wholeheartedly agree that every fan of ICT and Aberdeen should be at this game and I agree there hasn't been any trouble between our fans. Pre match, most of the ICT fans go into Caledonian golf club where the majority of Dons fans are in and we are treated very good but where this game is concerned I just don't agree that neither sets of fans should be housed above the other. Why? Like you say there has never been any trouble between the fans. The stewards would have no problem seeing people throwing things down.Plenty of teams in England put away fans in the top tier, home fans in the bottom, in fact it used to happen at Ibrox. Would look great for sponsor's,TV etc if we have one of our National cup final with an upper deck of empty seats, not to think of the potential lost revenue to both clubs. Is the upper tier not an extra 5000 odd seats x £25 it's a lot of lost money for both clubs.

As mentioned elsewhere on this forum, I am coming from Brisbane Australia for the final. Flight leave tonight. Also going to get to the Hibs game which is a bit of a bonus. Cant wait.
  10. Surely they can't put sheep in the LL top tier: that would be a security nightmare. Even with them selling 40k and us 10k (optimistic), they can still leave LL upper tier empty.
  11. Relegated and in administration. Can't stand them.
  12. I want County in the Premier League and furthermore would love to see Elgin and Peterhead join us.
  13. They hardly took that many fans to the last derby. Get them relegated, it'd be funny.
  14. From what I read on Twitter yesterday that Aberdeen had sold 37K and I haven't seen a recent update of sales but supposedly Aberdeen are only getting 40K tickets and can't go over that due to police restrictions so it makes sense that they would be buying from ICT. Fair enough they could get the upper tier of the Lisbon Lions but I would rather their fans weren't above us.
  15. Yes, but they don't go on general sale til Monday. The less patient (and I guess by definition, less loyal) of the woolly masses may decide to take a shortcut. Likely they won't see the game at all then if they do this as will be horsed out by security if they make it obvious. Simple to spot too. They will be the ones who haven't bought a program, been to the refreshment stand, and indeed have their pockets stitched up!
  16. http://www.highland-news.co.uk/News/Key-Inverness-landmarks-to-be-illuminated-to-support-Caley-Thistles-League-Cup-Final-achievement-05032014.htm We could do with a bit more red though than what the story suggests.
  17. Best bit of business was getting us all together in one section. Our players have seen a big stadium full of opposition fans before. Have they ever seen 8000 (fingers crossed!) ict fans behind them en masse? Hoping that gives them a lift.

Need to get the Ryan Esson song on there, it's a nightmare to remember.
  19. Think you will find they do, it's maybe passed you unnoticed that our average home attendance is dropping each year and it's only games against the likes of County and Celtic that we now see decent turn outs In this financial climate and the state the Scottish game is in ICT need as much help as they can get because present home crowds can't sustain a top flight club forever Dougal Can see where you are coming from Dougal tbh but the OP poses a theory that actually Ross County take money from us through sponsorship etc? Away crowds definately seem lower since County joined the top league? I love the derbies but there's maybe more to this than gates?
  20. Bit like our semi final vs Hearts eh, with all their support they must have started on the front foot too eh? Best we are underdogs.
  21. Hypocrisy at its best you claim nobody deserves to lose their team but the formation of ICT created that very scenario, think you should maybe start thinking before you post Whether you like it or not ICT need County in the same league and County need ICT it would be financially detrimental to both clubs should County be relegated Any set of fans would want their derby each season only a half wit would think differently Dougal
  22. That's fantastic to hear, it's excellent that you're doing this and good on OCG for sorting that too!
  23. Just letting you all know that a couple of schools have accepted my offer of tickets and between them are sending 40 kids and 5 teachers to swell the ranks. Thanks to old caley girl for helping sort this out.
  24. I like football. I love ICT but at times when benefits have been cut and dozens of families in Inverness relying on handouts from food banks there is no place for public funds being diverted, in whatever form, to a commercial football club.
