  1. As somebody who grew up supporting ICT and not a glimmer of any bullsh*t from before in sight, I've always been fond of Stripes. Fairly equal measures honouring both old sides just seems adequate to me. Obviously it all comes down to the board and such ultimately but I'll still be livid if it's not Stripes. Hell. I suppose I'de be alright if it was just red AND blue and none of this predominantly blue malarkey. Grew up with ICT being red and blue bar a few seasons, why change it now. Just delves further into seeming we don't know what we want to be. Shame.
  2. Bonney Field, Sacramento, California Sacramento Republic FC v Rangers The Lone Jag ...
  3. Have I missed something?. I have been under the impression right or wrong that for the last twenty years our colours were red and blue
  4. I like the stripes but more blue or red? Couldn't care less. Just hope it looks decent. Perhaps ICT should have gone for a totally different colour from the offset to avoid these type of arguments, probably didn't think they'd still be going on after 20 years though.
  5. How would old Caley fans feel if our home strips were red and black vertical stripes ? I suspect they would feel that was wrong and inappropriate. Well, our home strip being solid blue is no less wrong and inappropriate.
  6. I see Glentoran charge £1 per vote. Say every season ticket holder voted, that'd be at least £2,000 more in the bank for a start. I don't buy that stripes look old fashioned. Do Celtic's hoops look old fashioned and thus need changing? Or what about Arsenal's red shirts with white sleeves number? These may be "old" but they are essential elements of the club's identities. Whether the more recent ones might have sold well is one thing, but we've been trying to create our own identity for quite a while now. Continuing to look like a mini-Rangers, will do nothing to further that IMO.
  7. They may be old fashioned but they reflect our unique joint heritage.
  8. Here are my offerings ..... Sahara Desert - wearing my TFC and ICT scarves and standing beside an Australian friend. At the Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid At the Nou Camp in Barcelona ONE DAY MAYBE !!!!!
  9. We need to do something to set us apart from the rest and stripes seem the most logical way to do it. In my experience talking to ICT fans on here and at matches etc., the vast majority seem to want stripes. The board don't seem interested though for some reason. This chopping and changing is a lot of nonsense. Twenty years old now and we still don't seem to know what we are.

"Slow Going On Birmingham Roads", there's a headline to give "Aberdeen Man Found Dead On Pay-As-You- Leave Bus" a run for its money.
  11. That would be ok till 2016 but then there wont be a union flag as we know it. Proposal after Indy
  12. Don't understand how some folk don't care. What's wrong with having individuality, identity and an image that sets up apart from the rest. Or are we all just worried we'll be confused with Crystal Palace. I hear that's a major problem.
  13. I would imagine we will all find out in the local press by Friday, if not on Sunday at the match.
  14. Think we need to move on tbh. I actually like our current red and black away strip so don't have any issues. Why are Thistle relegated to the away shirt? It should be an equally coloured home shirt (red and blue with black and white trim). That should be our identity. What I'm saying is it wouldn't bother me personally if the strip home or away was red or black. Think folk make too much of this nowadays. Just my opinion. I also think lots of red and blue together looks cool! I always thought it bared more resemblance to the seats on the Megabus!

  18. Absolutely. In our history, we've only had one shirt that had more red than blue* and even that was cutting it fine. Predominantly blue shirts again and again in the mostly blue "Caledonian" Stadium. From the outside looking in, this looks like less of a merger and more of a takeover. If I was an old Thistle fan, I'd be pretty annoyed. I still live in hope that it'll be stripes (though hoops may be an interesting design), but I won't be very pleased and certainly won't be buying it if it's another poorly designed predominantly blue kit with apologetic hints of black and red. * This one
  19. Why can't the club come up with three or four designs and let the fans vote on it? I was looking up Glentoran's website the other week and they seem to do with every season. Why can't we? http://www.glentoran.com/news/vote-now-glentoran130-shirt
  20. This, absolutely. Christie and Vincent's goal ratio for minutes on the pitch must be chalk and cheese! I really hope Christie becomes unstoppable this season as we look much more dangerous with him playing off Billy. I've just noticed autocorrect changed "undroppable" to "unstoppable"... Unstoppable would also be good though.

  22. Make sure you've got plans to be at the Fleetwood game
  23. Enjoyed the game at Stark's Park yesterday. Our play looked a lot more fluent and we controlled long stretches of the game far better than in the equivalent fixture last year, and as Don mentioned above, the changes in line-up didn't disrupt the fluency; in fact, our dominance became greater as the game wore on. We did lack impact in the final third: some of the final balls were a bit disappointing, and the Raith defence marshalled Mckay well and didn't give him much freedom, despite some excellent first touches. Williams seemed to be playing in a more central role than towards the end of last season, almost in the hole behind Mckay, and he had a very good half. Christie again provided real creativity in attack when he came on, and I really hope that the manager is thinking of him as a first choice starter in the coming season. I also liked the look of the number 18 when he came on (I thought it was Calum Ferguson, but someone mentioned above that he was playing for the U20s yesterday, so presumably it wasn't) - he seemed to have a good turn of pace in wide areas, which is something we could really do with. The Fleetwood and Birmingham games will probably provide much tougher tests, but there was plenty to be happy with yesterday.
  24. Thought today was a good demonstration of what Yogi is trying to achieve in terms of ball retention and movement....in all areas of the pitch. What we all need to keep in mind is that these are essentially training games and the main objective/focus (for now) might not be how many goals we can score. I know from discussions I've had with Russell and stuff we're putting in place for video analysis (first season where we're being asked to produce footage specifically for that purpose) that the team are concentrating on positioning at the moment and both he and John were happy with what they witnessed today in terms of the progress being made on that front. Raith Rovers are no slouches and having spoken to one of their guys after the game he was both surprised and impressed by how much we frustrated them by not allowing them to get any time on the ball and limiting their options to all but trying to catch us on the counter....and credit where it's due, they just about did on a couple of occasions. What was also reassuring was the fact that we made 5 half-time subs with a further 2 later on in the game....and every player that came on slotted into the team seamlessly. That goes a long way to removing the fear I've had in previous seasons where injuries etc have left us having to rely on untried players or players without much match time. Anyone who's not had a chance to see much or anything from the pre-season games should make sure they get themselves along for the Fleetwood game next Sunday....I have a feeling you'll regret missing it if you don't.
  25. Better result than last year if I remember correctly? Onwards we go.
  26. See the wee guy 'stirring the pot'.... Take that as a hint ye.........FS

Like everywhere else there are those that overdo it, but no, for the most part, no hassles. The odd beer has been thrown at opposing players when something happens, but at $14 a pop there's no chance of that happening in Scotland Its not just about alcohol though. I see a huge contrast now when I have been to games compared to how it used to be. Some rules have sense, but like many other areas of life, the application of those rules has gone too far and there is little enjoyment in an environment where you are expected or even required to 'sit down, shut-up, & dont dare engage in banter with the opposition' and pay for the privilege ! no need for me to sit on any fence. I simply see merit in both sides of the argument. I am a 'terrace' guy at heart, and it seems I have come full circle now ... standing in a seated area at TFC where that is allowed, taking part in chants and songs aimed at the opposition, and now with club sanctioned smoke and flares ....
  28. Both the charities have been named in post #6 . I know...but that's not what I asked. I'd like to support the ICT fans by donating to their chosen charity, so need to know which of those 2 it is. Very childish response both worthwhile charities and both should benefit equally in my opinion as a result of this event Take it you and caleyjagsforever are not involved in this event then? Dougal

  30. I have an even more unusual one, Caley Thistle scarves at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium.
