  1. No. I remember we sometimes used to start with Andy Barrowman up front.
  2. Goals against. Confirming, or perhaps even re-enforcing that we're at our strongest at the end of matches !
  3. Despite 'hanging-on' for wins in the past few weeks, the stats show that, this season we're actually more dangerous as the game progresses!? Recently, it's not felt like that, but here's our stats. Our 37 goals are NOT evenly divided - we're a team who appear stronger second-half. 14 - 23 (1st half v 2nd half). We're at our most dangerous in the last part of games! Apparently! I've double-checked this! Astonishing. Times of Inverness goals in the Scottish Premiership this season:
  4. Tomorrow at 2pm against Motherwell at TCS (I think)
  5. That's only one possible inaccuracy. There is also the assumption that each step is an accurate yard which I often doubt. The 10 yard rule must be one of the most poorly observed in football by referees. It ikrs me somewhat that they spray a straight line. Surely the line should be curved?
  6. I remember when Caledonian were drawn away to St Mirren in the Scottish Cup (lost 3-0) and considered it such a big game. I couldn't 'get my head round' the likes of Wilson Robertson sharing a pitch with Campbell Money! That concept must seem alien to younger fans! But, It's what makes the whole ICT journey so rewarding! Oh god, I used the cliché, 'journey'!
  7. I couldn't be bothered replying to the 'playground' analogy of ICT being the 'best team in the UK'! Middlesboro have also won 7 and drawn 1, including an away win at Manchester City and after that I gave up looking. I suppose one could argue that Edinburgh City are the 'most difficult to beat' team in the UK as they haven't tasted defeat all season? Apples and oranges... Now, Kingsmills' questions! Our longest unbeaten SPL/Premiership run is actually 11 games from back in 2005/06! This current unbeaten run from the turn of 2015 is arguably our best 'new-calendar-year' unbeaten run! In Division 1 in 2009/10 we remained unbeaten in the league - after the new 2010 calendars went up - until August, when we lost the opening game on our return to the SPL! However, we did lose to Killie on 6th Feb '10 in the cup, during that run (in our 4th game of the year). So, if we include all competitive games, our present sequence is a 'new-calendar-year' record in terms of number of games unbeaten! But, 2001 would chronologically be our longest unbeaten 'new-calendar-year' run (6th March), but that was only our 7th game!

I rather like the quirks and inconsistencies of the English language....but not as much as I like macaroni pies.

All the indications are that he will be away at the end of the season but it would be a huge boost if we could somehow persuade him to re sign.

...and a silly booking on Saturday (dissent). Hopefully a back-up plan is at the ready....Christie? Ferguson? Trialist?
  11. 51 points In mid-February!! The club records of 57 (top-six record) and 58 (all-time top-flight record) are going to fall! Fewest goals against is also currently on-course. Time for a speculative update: With an average of 2.04 points-per-game, we are miles ahead of our record 1.53!

I only saw Watkins up front, live, at Partick last week, and just the highlights this week. But I really like his strength there. Yes, he has missed a few chances, but who doesn't? Billy's 'one on one' record was not great. At least Watkins showed he can get in goal scoring positions. The goals will come. I only hope we can hang on to him.
  13. Just realised that we've won all 3 of our league games v St Mirren this season, AND knocked them out of the cup. They must hate playing us! They are also the team that ICT has racked up the most wins against in our history. How things have changed since St Mirrren were the glamour opposition who were the new club's first opponents in 1994.

So, sandwiched in amongst all the posts is a answer to the original posts.
  15. Final observations on the day: WTF was that fanfare at the beginning all about. Oh the irony of playing that and St Mirren running out. Did any one else notice Blobby Madden pace out 9 (yes 9) yards the first time he used the spray? Only in Scotland! And Goodwin looks even more of a pr1ck than he did before.
  16. Proctor might be in the mix too I would count Davies Proctor well out of it. He started a lot of games under a few managers.
  17. I hope so, it could come down to goal difference at the end of the season.
  18. Think the players know what goal they think they can reach. They're not sprouting nonsense in the press about it tho like others! In a way I like us being under the radar. Takes a bit of pressure off tbh
  19. Exactly, Hawkeye! As I said on a previous thread "just smile and wave, boys!" How sweet if we were to sneak in for one of the big prizes ahead of the Darling Dons.
  20. To be perfectly honest, I am quite happy for them to ignore us, and then say " how'd that happen" if we have our most successful season ever. I know how well we are playing at the moment, and couldn't give two hoots if the old and new firm obsessed weegia don't notice. Let's be fair, if they couldn't spot the developing train wreck that was Rangers, were unable to work out that "civil unrest" was just a spurious concept cooked up by Regan and Doncaster to shoehorn Rangers "back where they belong" or were unable (or unwilling) to ask what Ashley's agenda is, then you can't possibly be surprised that they haven't noticed what's occurring in the Highlands.
  21. From the Alba highlghts, I took the following: 1. We won heaps of key challenges in our own half - Draper, Tansey, Warren and Meekings were immense. Importantly, when the ball was won, it wasn't just thumped, but was played constructively - transition was excellent. 2. The one touch triangles in tight spaces in the first half were outstanding. Ross and Williams looked like they were key to this part of our game today - I thought Ross looked like he had an excellent game, particularly tracking back. 3. Shinnie and Raven were tremendous on the overlap - setting up both goals. 4. The chances we're creating now are clear-cut ones - we had 5 or 6 one-on-ones or clear shots from inside the box. Watkins, Christie, Ross, Warren all narrowly missed, or the final pass was inches off being perfect. 5. The Midden were restricted to 4 set-piece opportunities - always a good sign that they couldn't get through us in open play. That said, we didn't defend set pieces particularly well yesterday. 6. Yogi is right - we're not great with 2-0 scorelines and haven't yet got that confidence to put teams to the sword when we're up a couple - taking the foot off the gas and not being brave. Hopefully, that will come. Looking back over the above, I think every player (except Esson) gets a mention - which says it all!
  22. Watched the Yogi interview and was very impressed with his assessment of the game... I do think we need that option of a big strong player upfront Interesting comments about Ross County, which I agree with (I may be in a minority!) I'd rather they stay up so we can play them and it cements the Highlands as a 'footballing' centre
  23. Is it possible that switching Watkins for McKay has actually made us a better team?

I don't know how much money you'd have to pay me to hear me say the phrase "with the ocean in our arms, wipe your eyes and kiss your palms" out loud. It's pretty terrible BUT you had the courage to even attempt one which is more than could be said for some (I'm looking at you Mr C. Young) My song idea goes to the tune of Manic Street Preachers-Your love alone is not enough It's Caleeeeey Thistle Right enuff, Right enuff, Right ennuuuuffff When Caley scooore It's Right enuff, right enuff, righ ennnuffff The whole "Right enuff" thing had been in my head for ages after listening to the song and with a bit of effort I think it could turn into a good wee funny tune.
