I was sorry to hear of the recent untimely death of the former Raith Rovers chairman. At a time when many in Scottish football were searching for any pretext to keep Rangers in the top league or the second top division at worst, despite their disgraceful and dishonest conduct over a long number of years and in the face of all sporting and moral integrity and at a time when even those who didn't agree were keeping their heads below the parapet for fear of the backlash from the Union Flag draped hoards, he stood up and had the courage and integrity to state what needed to be said. A brave and honourable man prepared to do and say the right thing. Even with his passing, we are all still Turnbull Hutton.
  2. Thanks guys....we were (deliberately) operating over 4G tonight in an area where we know it's not the best and at 128kbps (when 32 is normally sufficient for voice only) to get a kinda "worst case" scenario for the audio transmission. So, whilst not top notch, it should have provided all the info we need to improve things going forward.
  3. Who is our striker? Where does Yogi or anyone one think regular goals will come from? The current set up us not working.
  4. Same old sh1t, been dire for months, he will change it with 8 mins to go in attempt to save a point. Watkins up front is PYSH.
  5. sort out the audio drop-outs and buffering (which may be partially associated with my connection? [VPN over wifi to a tethered iPhone]), and get it a little closer to live so that twitter posts dont look like premonitions and it will be golden !
  6. Watkins starts again up front.... DOH!!!! Mind you if he scores I might alter my stance a wee bit...
  7. Running a few minutes behind 'live', a bit stop start but better than OAM.
  8. What happened last game that brought Esson to your attention? Certainly not his fault Clarkson scored. Brill has been better than he was dealing with pass backs, but still leaves it later than he should on occasion. I'm not fussed which keeper plays, but I think the criticism of Esson on here is unjust. People have short memories, and absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Ironically I've just been reading an article (although a few weeks old) about how Ross County are 'the perfect football club' - well run, financially prudent etc etc! Losses of nearly £10,000-a-week are surely not sustainable in the long term! I'll echo the above sentiments regarding their upturn in fortunes on the field, however. Staggering! (pun intended) Comparing their recent run to that of Dundee United (who've 'sold' their season for a healthy balance sheet - and made Jackie Mac a few bob too): On Valentine's morning United had 45 points to County's 12. Since then, County have added 22 points to United's 1 (one) !!! Edit. You're not alone in thinking that Big G. I've been saying that for a few weeks now.

My only wish for now is that we win another game before the end of the season. I know I will get ripped to shreads for this but I am getting very frustrated at the way we are playing, the team selection and the complete lack of information about players contracts. I know we are third and in a semi-final but it could be so much more.

On current form we're relegation fodder, so fourth place certainly isn't guaranteed! We can't keep relying on other teams dropping points.
  15. Brora will do okay financially in SPFL 2 if they get there. (disclaimer!) I have no official sources - only my own 'findings' from various internet searches. The figures being talked about are all relatively small but looked at relatively, Brora's main problem would be simply the distances they have to travel. However, Elgin is closer than many journeys they have to make in the Highland League, so effectively they're looking at a burden of 16 away trips in the season. Currently the Highland League champions get approx. £15,000 for winning it plus £17 per-point = £17,000 in a great season. The Highland League Cup only offers £2,000 to the winners (Brora, in their entire history have never even been in the final of this!), with the North of Scotland probably being £1,000 plus gate money share. Little over £20k in income for Brora. Their local sponsors will likely stick around for the increased national exposure, especially in the first season - and the novelty factor could draw interested spectators from the Sutherland area, with a catchment area that includes Dornoch, Golspie and possibly even Helmsdale. Brora would also enter the Scottish Cup a round later, automatically be included in the Challenge Cup and obviously be in the League Cup, which I understand pays £10,000 for even first round losers. The worst they could do would be to finish bottom of League Two and enter next season's play-off! Even then. they'd get £32,000 for finishing last! Plus a 'parachute payment' of £40,000 for their first season back in the Highland League, and £20,000 the following season! Competing in SPLF 2 would also have, initially, many away fans making 'a weekend of it' by travelling up. I understand much of the extra finance will go on travelling costs, but it's an adventure they surely must embrace! For me, the 'beauty' of the Pyramid System' is, that should it be a step too-far for Brora, then they won't be left stuck at the bottom of the formerly closed system and a likely 'folding' or administration 'event' would be averted, as now, if/and when a club's not good enough, they'll simply drop down and 'find their level' again. A full pyramid system, correctly managed, should ensure clubs no longer have the face the wall of insolvency - teams would simply operate at their 'correct' level. N.B. This is all presumptuous as Brora have their work-cut-out to get past Edinburgh City!
