When Polworth signed an extension to his contract for last season, all i could see him being was a squad player like he has been in the past, also covering when players are injured. Players then got injured and he has come in, completely surpassing my expectations of his ability and his place in the team has been well merited this season
  2. Can see us retaining the Scottish Cup defeating Celtic 3-2 in the Final after Steven McLean awards a controversial offside winner for Inverness in injury time scored by Wedderburn. The ensuing Sun headline 'Nat King Goal'. David Raven will make a deep run on Britain's got talent, leading to a solo album which will break into the top 10. He'll then face an agonizing decision as Yogi insists he abandon his music career and focus 100% on football, as he did to Scott Arfield at Falkirk. Richie Foran will sign a new 5 year contract. Miles Story will break into the England squad and start dating Katie Price.
  3. Thought we were awful first half. Couldn't string two passes together, and constantly giving the ball away. County had three excellent chances in the first 20 mins. No idea how we ended up going in 2-0 up at ht. Second half much better, especially after Vigurs came on. County ran out of ideas, we could've added another couple with better finishing. Good start to the year. Hopefully we can now put a few wins together.
  4. What an enjoyable way to celebrate the New Year with a win against County. Well done boys, hope you have fun celebrating tonight. I have to say that the atmosphere at the game today was amazing. Section E in the North Stand sang for the entire game - I'm sure it makes a difference to the players when they are starting to tire and the rest of us enjoyed the sing song too. Thanks.
  5. Yeah they were Brill.
  6. We were fortunate to go in 2 up. Looked very comfortable in the second half. County big money players looked very poor, Davies, Gardyne and Jackson were outplayed throughout by our more determined workmen players. I thought Vincent had a great game as he chased and ran all game. Definately an unsung hero.
  7. Transfer window opens tomorrow, how worried should we be? Will The Dons be sniffing about or the Rangers ?? I see these two teams as the main threat for pre contract signings or will it be a quiet window with "just looking" signs up waiting to pounce at the end of the season.. First things first lets start the year with a win tomorrow. Wishing all at ICT and fans world wide the very best for 2016, May Good Fortune come your way.

Great to see Liam doing so well. In my opinion there is nothing quite like a truly local boy in the team to provide inspiration to youngsters in Inverness to follow their dreams and have confidence in their abilities, whatever path they choose to follow. I'm so glad he's taken his chance to carry on where Nick and Ryan left off and credit to the youth coaches for their part in nurturing local talent. All the very best for 2016 Liam and the rest of the team too. Thanks for an amazing year and loads of unforgettable memories.

As far as home grown talent is concerned, Liam's progress has been largely overshadowed by that of Ryan Christie and there is no doubt that young Ryan's progress from youth to first team has been more rapid and that he matured and developed more quickly than Liam However, after a couple of false starts, Liam is now coming into his own and beginning to show his true potential. Personally, I believe he may go on to be at least as talented and possibly even more influential than Ryan. For that reason I believe that one of the best pieces of business we do in January is to secure him on a three and a half year contract. Such is his potential talent I fear that he is bound to move onto 'better' and much higher paid things sooner or later but that way we will at least get full value for him when he goes rather than being somewhat short changed as we were with Ryan.

  11. Vincent was anonymous. Why hughes starts Tremarco ahead of Williams is bizarre. Sooner we bring back Pele the better, tbh
  12. Great performance. Would go as far as to say on todays showing there isn't a single County player who would get into our first 11 bar perhaps Jackson Irvine. Pleased to see the manager shake things up tactically and abandon our usual possession game for a more direct approach better suited to a derby game. It was almost as if we carried on where we left off from the League Cup meeting in that respect - the same tactical switch turned the game in our favour that evening. Today was a textbook example of 'defending from the front'. Story and Vincent ran their socks off. Their left back could barely even get within 20 yards of the halfway line before being closed down by Polworth. Gardyne was shut down completely by Wedderburn and Tremarco doubling up, so much so that McIntyre switched him to the left to little effect. When we won the ball we got it forward FAST and had the County in full panic mode. Tanseys long passing was top drawer. Great energy from our midfield constantly getting forward to support the front 2 who held the ball up superbly. In the end it could have been 4 or 5, we were completely dominant. On current form only a matter of time before we leapfrog this lot and Saints IMO. Great start to 2016!
  13. A few weeks ago I was not looking forward to this game but after the great fighting spirit shown the week against Hamilton I felt we had more chance to get a win and the team did not let us down. Some passing was terrible as usual in the first half and we went a goal up after pushing forward , a good start and Wedderburn wins a free kick and that man Tansey does it again "superb". We just kept the pressure on County who were just not good enough to respond. A good win, another 3 points and a great start to the New Year!
  14. Good philosophy but for Sneckie's sake applaud the first one and rejoice with him he is the counting man and he might just not wear his new anorak for spite.
  15. The bubble seems to have burst at Hearts and County and to a certain extent Aberdeen and St Johnston. Most teams go through a rough patch in a season so maybe this is the start of the rough patch for mentioned teams and that we have come out of ours and will now kick on with a good run of results. It would be nice to defend the cup but I think concentration has to be on the league and the aim 3rd place.
  16. Always good to beat them but it was far more fun when Adams was in charge.
  17. To echo the sentiments above, that was a highly satisfying result. Perhaps the most pleasing part was that we didn't try to sit back on a two goal lead and continued to try and play our football further up the park. County didn't really threaten apart from some long distance shots. Ive also finally worked out county's signing policy - if you are a horrible barsteward with a stupid name, then you're in.
  18. Aye great support today. A job well done for the full 90 mins. Are we good or is County just pure sh*#e. Maybe a both apply.
  19. The Sneckboy knows everything. Even surpasses IHE with the teacup reading skills
  20. The Tea in my Scottish Cup Champions mug is tasting mighty fine.
  21. Sat 02 Jan 2016 Well, here we go for 2016 with a quiet scoring day for our ex players, but nice to see Nick Ross get his first for Dundee (as it wasn't against us). Scot Premier N Ross (Dundee 2 - Dundee Utd 1) SL1 R McAllister (Peterhead 4 - Stenhousemuir 1) EL 1 S Winnall (Barnsley 2 - Millwall 1) EL 2 A MacDonald (Notts Co 2 - Oxford Utd 4)
  22. Yassss what a feeling beating County at home does not get any better!. It really is a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
  23. Excellent result. How satisfying to hold on to a two goal lead, especially against County. Well done to all concerned.
  24. Thanks. I thought it was something like. Wouldn't it be an idea for the SFA to publish the ts & cs around discipline so that fans could at least try and understand what is going on? Or do they just revel in obfuscation and confusion.
  25. NOTE: Updates for this game (Match Report, POY Poll etc) will not be online until later (unless one of the mods does it for me) as I will be away from the computer until later in the afternoon.

Not long till the 2nd of January and with both teams scoring lots of goals and also letting them in this is building up to be a high scoring game. Now that most of our injuries are receding and we are starting to see a more settled team I'm feeling a bit more confident than last time we played them when we were struggling Hopefully this run we've been on will give the players a huge boost and we will see a much improved performance from the cup game.
  27. Inverness v Ross County team news (2/1/2016) Inverness (from): OF Williams, Raven, Warren, Devine, Wedderburn, Tremarco, Tansey, D Williams, Draper, Horner, Polworth, Storey, Vincent, Mbuyi-Mutombo, Sho-Silva, Brown, Vigurs, Sutherland, Ferguson, Macrae, Lopez, Esson. Defender Josh Meekings missed the Hamilton game with a knee injury as did Aaron Doran, Richie Foran and Dean Brill, also with knee injuries. All indications point to them all being still unavailable for this fixture. Meekings might be back for the 9th. Devines suspension was incurred on the 26/12/2015. Coming into effect on the 9th January 2016. I presume that if Draper reached the threshold with a booking against Hamilton then his suspension would not come into play until the next round of fixtures. Taken from an Stv article dated 14/2/2011. I have no idea if anything has changed in regards to this. "In order to receive a suspension for a succession of yellow cards in Scottish football, a player has to record 18 disciplinary points against their name on league business. In most circumstances, a sixth yellow card of the campaign results in a minimum one match ban, which kicks in 14 days after the points total is breached. Whilst most bookable offences carry an automatic three penalty points, the Scottish Football Association’s disciplinary rules also determine that certain yellow cards are punishable by a lesser tariff."
  28. If we can get Ross Draper, Josh Meekings Liam Polworth, Miles Storey, Grey Tansey signed up on longer deals, adding a striker to support Storey and a natural left back then I would say that would be a successful Jan transfer window. Offloading Lopez and Mutombo would also be an added bonus.
  29. Thank goodness we've got Richie tied up on a long deal ;)
  30. I can't see us keeping tremarco but I think Raven is a good a right back that we can get. Hopefully Roberts will impress but I'm not getting my hopes up for about the others! Hopefully we'll keep storey and get one or 2 in! The one thing I will say is that I'm still certain we can push for top 3 as we're only one place behind where we were this time last year! And that's after a struggling start...imagine what we could achieve if we go on a good run and keep our players fit... and a run in the cup to at least the semis would be nice...but I wouldn't say no to 2 big days at Hampden

I think we will bring them back down to earth...they're five points ahead of us yet they've had a great start to their season and we haven't! Wins on sat and away at killie will have us chasing hearts and st Johnstone and hopefully with a little luck and concentration we can challenge those 2 for 4th place! Saturday could be the start of county's down fall! anything can happen in a derby but I'd like to think that our bigger and better players will show county just who's boss in the north! Not that I believe it for a moment but the main stand appears to be full or very close so hopefully we'll get a decent support out to back the players! Let's have a happy start to the new year....

Only one comment to make. If we are fortunate enough to secure a two goal lead at any stage on no account should we sit deep and try to defend it....
  33. Not sure we deserved to be ahead at half time, but I'll take it! Wedderburn was having a shocker and a good move to sub him for Vigurs. 2nd half was reasonably comfortable and Storey ran Boyd ragged. Vincent was absolutely everywhere and didn't give there defence any rest. In the end, we could have got another couple, but was more delighted with the CLEAN SHEET! Now, we need to do the business off the park: Storey (promising signs there), Draper, Polworth, Vincent, Williams, Fon Williams all signed up for another season or two please. I get the feeling that Rave won't be top of Hughes' list, but he makes us look so much more solid. I quite like Tremarco too. Well done lads: a happy New Year!
  34. 18 points away from relegation 9 points away from a european spot Not bad considering our injury list and our inability to see most games out this season.
  35. If correct, then in the Summer we are to get a new football season calendar to make plans around a football season and do away with that weird stuff of a year going from January to December. Does this mean we can have our very own mid summer hogmanay/ ICT day? In what month do you think the calendar should begin and why?
