  1. Typical of Buchtmaster to want to shoot the messenger, especially if that messenger is club legend Barry Wilson. Just how on earth else was he going to describe last night's performance and far too many others at the TCS this season other than unentertaining and wholly ineffective ? To suggest that we were either would be on a par with suggesting that Dingwall is a centre of urbane sophistication and culture ! The really sad thing is that it doesn't have to be like this. On the rare occasions that the team is set out differently or when, usually as a result of losing a goal due to trying to play tippy tappy in our own penalty area, we end up chasing the game too little too late, the players demonstrate that we are capable of being direct, fast paced and entertaining. There was a time last season when Yogi's style of play was moderately effective but teams have long since worked out how to play us and the sooner the manager recognises that and shows more tactical nous the better. In the meantime, all that Barry Wilson or any other commentator or summariser can do is to tell it as it is....
  2. Can't believe what I'm reading here. Solid performance, clean sheet and a good point against a high flying Hearts. Every player put in a shift. Vigurs and Tremarco standouts for me. I think people are starting to carry over negativity from previous outings. Last night we did pretty well imo.
  3. DId anyone notice if any of the Hearts players had some good runs last night ?

Raven is class. I'll be very disappointed if he leaves.
  5. No doubt IHE knows more about "grooming" than me, but I can't see Foran taking over from Hughes as good idea. Whatever his potential as a manager may be, he first either needs to be in charge at a lower level or be appointed as number 2 at a bigger club. He needs the first hand experience and to prove he can do the job.

You could have seen him today..................He tweeted this earlier david raven ‏@davidraven131 2m2 minutes ago Nice to play 90mins for the 20s today, it's been a long 6 weeks!
  7. Dani Sanchez has signed for Finnish level 2 club, FC Jazz.

Followed by a new three year contract...
  9. I agree very much Alex We were playing a proper football team last night matched them toe to toe and think a point was a good outcome. Credit where it's due, not the players fault they work very hard. Like to see Josh back alongside Warren asap though
  10. We seemed to cancel each other out with our defense closing them down and wr found it difficult to cut through them, although we did have some chances. Happy enough with a point and 1pt away from 7th Time to start building for next season though.

I thought the two levels they were quoting were the two top divisions - ie. MLS Western Division and MLS Eastern Division? NASL has pretty low crowds but I agree, the methodology makes it a bit flawed in some cases ....
  12. I seem to have a different threshold. The game was rubbish and lacking any attacking intent and ambition.

I assume the minute attached to the notification refers to the AGM of 2016 and not of 2015 as actually stated on the minute. That being the case, reading the minute will clarify the reason for an EGM. I also assume that there is a requirement to give not less that 2 weeks notice for an EGM and if so, this notification just meets that requirement. However, if the need for an EGM was agreed back in February and the meeting is not taking place until 9 weeks later, it would have been good to get a little more notice. Short notice always impacts on attendance. It doesn't exactly encourage folk to get involved. No doubt the "mess" that is referred to in the minute is a consequence of one or two folk not really appreciating the importance of adhering to the rules of the organisation even for a small and relatively informal group like CJT. When people give of their valuable time it can often seem unnecessarily time consuming to follow the rules to the letter, but failing to do so clearly does lead to difficulty. Hopefully folk can learn from any mistakes and forgive others for theirs. CJT can then move on in a rather more disciplined way which, in turn, might encourage others to get involved. Discontent amongst fans over one or two issues is evident on other threads and therefore it is important that CJT is functioning on a sound footing in order to act as an effective liaison group between the fans and the club.
  14. Personally I think agents are a real cancer in the modern game. But having said that, there should be nothing to stop the club informing the player that they want to keep him, that an offer has been made and that there is a deadline for the completion of any negotiation over terms. It would then be for the player to instruct his agent to negotiate within those parameters, to keep the player informed of progress and to consult with the player over relevant detail. I appreciate agents will want to drag negotiations out but negotiations will only drag on if both sides allow them to. The club needs players signed up and if a preferred player does not sign then they need to open talks with someone else. The longer "negotiations" continue, the weaker the club's position become as other available players get signed up elsewhere. If the club was to adopt a no nonsense policy of setting deadlines and sticking to them, then that would concentrate the minds of players and their agents. After the deadline, there would be no further negotiation but the offer could remain on the table until an alternative signing has been made, at which time the offer would be withdrawn.
  15. Which makes the one and only appearance when he started against Hibs in he cup even more bizarre, he hasn't featured even for a few mins as a sub since yet played 90 mins that night?
  16. Really unfortunately do not share your optimism after suffering that tonight. Hopefully BW calls it as it was, fecking awful. What is with Hughes that he thinks Danny Williams can play as a lone striker terrible substitution again. Foran on the bench obviously not fit enough to play surely would have been the obvious replacement for Storey.
  17. That was my point, that the injuries this season have exposed an issue that has maybe always been there but in the last few seasons we have been pretty lucky with injuries and so have got away with it. I'm not suggesting we should be spending more cash we don't have but just pointing out that this season in particular the difficulties with remaining competitive in the league have become obvious and to me that is worrying. You want the team you've supported your whole life to be the best that it can be, there is scope for improvement and it's not all about investment in the football playing squads and the product you see on a Saturday afternoon.

One thing from that table- the old firms 'dominance' is second only to whatever happens in uruguayan football. I wonder how the fans of lower-placed uruguayan clubs perceive their big teams compared to here in scotland.
  19. Tues Apr 12 2016 Sam Winnall scored both goals in Barnsley's 2-1 win over Oldham tonight.
  20. No shots on goal at home is not good enough.
  21. I'm not there but based on Twitter it doesn't sound like there is much he can really get excited about.
  22. Caley Jags sums it up for me. It's remarkable that we even came so close to top 6, let alone be alive and kicking despite so many setbacks. Injurie galore and the devastating loss of a significant portion of our best players before our new uniforms had even got dirt on them--what some folks expect from the very experienced John Hughes is unrealistic to say the least. He's not a magician with a magic wand, just a good coach doing what he humanly can with an obviously very restricted budget. He only won us the Scottish cup and finished very high last season which, let's be honest came as a very satisfying surprise to all of us. What we need at this stage is a steady, very experienced hand on the tiller by a man who has already proven his worth when he had the opportunity and playing personnel to do so. To suggest we remove or replace him with another, probably unknown, quantity before he has hardly even had his feet under the table is ridiculous, inexperienced knee-jerkism and fanciful thinking at best. His signings and development of players should be lauded, not easily forgotten. And, when R Christie took off for the bright lights of Glasgow, his loss was not Hughes' fault but surely as much as anything because of his training and guidance for the young man- which shows he still has it up top, football wise. To appoint a person to the Manager's position who has great football talent and energy but without, apparently, any - on - the - job experience in that role would, at this point in the club's development, probably be reckless both for the club and for that person's own onward progression in his chosen career. Assistant manager, possibly, but not to be sent into the lion's den in full charge of the team--all the book learning and reading in the world is no substitute for the real time, on the job experiences of life. To be frank, one needs a few losses and crushing experiences in life to grow, develop and mature and in this particular situation the potential devastation of same could simply not be worth it.
  23. Not sure what the point being made is? These are 2 players St J developed and sold. One went to the 2nd biggest club in Scotland with the 2nd biggest budget although in a lower league, much like Ryan Christie going to the biggest, the other went to an English Championship side like A.Shinnie, B.McKay (who we got a transfer fee for), Watkins did from us. Stevie Mays wages are so high that nobody in the SPFL could afford to take him back on loan last year. Players leave St J, ICT, D Utd and the others every season, but any club is lucky if 1 out of 10 commands a transfer fee - yes, it would be great if we sold Ryan for a higher fee and got money for the Shinnie's, Ross etc, but then how many other clubs all say the same about their talent. Buying clubs can look at what's on offer and if for example Adam Rooney is valued by Aberdeen at £1M, but Billy McKay is only £100k then they may see better value, prospect and opportunity with the cheaper deal - a club like ICT have to avoid pricing themselves out of the market when selling a player and ending up with them leaving for nothing - afterall if the player wants away they just run down the contract, nobody can force them to sign if they don't want, just the same as during the contract we cant sell them unless someone wants to buy them. Maybe this needs to be put into perspective - SPFL players (like ours) can leave for the English lower leagues where the clubs down there can afford the gamble of salaries many times our first team players for a reserve or prospect. Put really simply we have 29p so can buy a tin of Lidl beans in the hope they taste good, of we are lucky we may get some Tesco beans reduced on an offer, but we will never be able to afford Heinz and certainly not high end Harrods (unless out of date and past their best) - unless of course we decide to do without bread - only giving half a meal?
  24. I doubt Doran will be among the 6. JH had him on the bench more often than not, even when he was fully fit - not Hughes' favourite IMO. He's also a high wage. I'm sure Horner will be amongst those with offers and I'm equally convinced that Raven will not. I get the impression that Roberts isn't fancied either. If any of these hunches are right, I'll be hugely disappointed!
  25. I don't know how many people heard BBC Radio Scotland's phone-in this morning, but I think Louse White must have been sitting in the studio with her "The Rangers" top on. The question being asked was "Do you welcome Rangers' return to the Premiership?" White was getting very aggressive with folk who calmly pointed out that Rangers had been liquidated and that "The Rangers" were a new club who will be entering the top flight for the first time. Her stock answer was "Yes, but it's the same club". Well done Willie from Inverness who made the point very well! Will the presence of The Rangers make the top flight stronger next year? Very probably, yes. But that is not the point. The point is that Rangers went into liquidation as a result of years of incompetent and criminal mismanagement leaving many individuals and small businesses with unpaid debts. The appropriate authorities then allowed a new club to be formed and gifted them the assets of the former club. The appropriate authorities then failed to apply their own rules about clubs applying to the SFL to have a minimum of 2 years audited accounts, and allowed "The Rangers" immediate entry into the league structure. The appropriate authorities then decreed that a man who has several convictions for fraud was a fit and proper person to be chairman of The Rangers. The appropriate authorities have since allowed the Rangers to buy success. They have allowed the club to operate with a massive operating loss so that it can borrow large sums of money to pay better players. Finally after all this collusion by various "appropriate authorities" "The Rangers" have finally made it to the top flight. Meanwhile all these various authorities collude with others, including the BBC, to call the new club "Rangers" as if it is exactly the same club and that the whole shameful episode was just a temporary blip in the history of the club. Of, course, the only regard in which the club does not want to be considered one and the same with the old club, is in honouring the debts of the old club. Honest folk who provided services to Rangers are left out of pocket and honest tax payers look on whilst massive tax debts remain unpaid. So, do I welcome the arrival of "The Rangers" to the Premiership? No, It shames Scottish football and it shames those various authorities who have failed to apply relevant legislation and regulations. Today's phone-in also shamed the BBC.
  26. A good result on the whole. I don't like the way we've become so predictable though. It was the exact same line-up and the exact same changes as Saturday, both times for players who are already leaving in the summer anyway. And what has happened to Richie Foran? Surely bringing him on for Storey instead of playing the soon departing Danny Williams out of position up front would make more sense? And where has Jordan Roberts disappeared to? Is he injured? There can't be any other reason for him to totally fall out of the side. I can't help to shake off an ongoing 'end of days' feeling around the club at the moment. I honestly have a feeling Yogi will be saying cheerio at the end of the season, as the manager anyway.
  27. Poor show on the update situation B W negative as usual I'm afraid ----As bad as I've seen all season Quote. He really sells football
