  1. I can not for the life of me work out why Foran is still in a job to be given the title of worst manager in British football why will the Board not sack him? they sacked Brewster when he was not delivering the goods but things are much worse now than they were then so why wont they sack him? I dont believe for a minute theres no money and the money they made with the cup run and sale of Ryan Christie has all gone theres more to this than we know about. Any respect i had for Foran as a player is gone for his arrogance at not quitting when its clear to everyone but him and the chairman its a disaster he will still have his expensive motor and his holiday in the sun when poor staff at the club may loose their jobs. The appointment of Malpas was nothing other than to shut the fans up after Dundee were seeing to be trying to stay in the league and sacked Hartley why if Malpas was brought back to help with much needed coaching was he sat in the stand on friday night? Mistakes were made last year lots of them firstly appointing Foran as manager (the cheap and easy option) secondly getting rid of Deano he was and is a far better goalkeeper the OFW but we know that decision was all about the money the club get from international call ups how OFW does get called up is bemusing thirdly making Warren captain sorry he is a liabilty not a player who leads by example he is a red card in the waiting every game Fourthly giving Vigurs a 2 year contract look how much better he played when he was on a short contract this year he has been lazy and slow nothing to bother for he now has his 2 year deal I could go on with the rest of mistakes there has been plenty of them CC was right the writing was on the wall years ago hence why the likes of Shinnie and Watkins got out quick enough cant say i blame them im sure we will see Tansey back to his best at Aberdeen with good coaching and facilities i for one wish him all the best i cant stand Aberdeen but if i was offered the same job for 3 times the money i would not have to think long about that one. Until Foran is replaced as manager me and my family will not be buying ST because were in for more of the same next year or worse because i bet nothing has been done about signing players for next season until its confirmed where we all know were going to be so you can bet were in for signing some unwanted dross/injury prone players.
  2. I can remember almost every second poster on this forum wanting JH out and RF in, so KC gave them what they wanted, he sacked JH and appointed the cheaper and less demanding option RF and filmed pre season interviews in which we were told that the old boring style of play would be gone and a new exciting brand of play would have the fans off their seats. Of course it was all nonsense, I said so at the time and whilst KC didn't expect RF to win anything I doubt he expected the whole thing to blow up quite so spectacularly. That the ICT support could call for the sacking of the man who brought us the SC, a third place finish in the league and European football for the first time is beyond understanding. As Charlie Christie said last Friday "they should have erected a statue in his honour", yet some people will still not give JH the praise he deserves and still hoped against hope that their hero RF could turn things around when it was painfully obvious he was completely out of his depth with less than half the season gone. A famous financial commentator once said (I think it was Melken) that "the people deserve what they get and they deserve to get it good and hard" Pride comes before a fall right enough, perhaps those same supporters ludicrous expectations might cool down in the championship. For my own part, I have set my expectations quite low, I expect another relegation should the current board and RF remain in charge.
  3. John Hughes is hardly setting the heather of fire at Raith. If he didn't like our budget previously I'm pretty sure he won't like next season's! Move on. His arrogance and greed screwed himself and the club.
  4. Don't forget loss of TV money, potential loss of sponsorship, hospitality income etc. Relegation, financially, as an utterly horrendous issue for the club to have to deal with. There's talk of a significantly improved TV deal from BT in the very near future as well which we stand to miss out on if we don't get back up at the first time of asking. We're going to find it harder to recruit players and there is almost zero coverage of the Championship now that Rangers are in the Premiership (we've all seen how quickly BBC, BT and Sky dropped any kind of live games or highlights). As much as I love Foran there is absolutely no way that he should have been allowed to continue to oversee this shocking decline in the clubs fortunes. We absolutely had to stay in the Premiership and it shouldn't have mattered who was in charge we simply could not afford to allow relegation to happen. He should have walked after the 3 - 0 defeat to Accies instead we stuck whilst others twisted and we look set to pay a very heavy price.
  5. forget about past managers. Why anybody thinks they are a viable option, wanted by anybody, or they have any desire to do it is beyond me. Back to the past is not an option.
  6. Sad thing is County have also had an absolutely dreadful season and their fans have also being shouting for their manager duo to be sacked up until the last few weeks To get humped so badly in a derby with no fight no passion and no bad tackles tell me our players have already given up the ghost and knew relegation was already on the horizon Draper and McKay should have been the first two names on the starting line up, the dressing room is obviously in turmoil Also the so called young team, how many times do they need to be told to not let off smoke bombs? Whoever the moron was that threw one on when we were about to take the corner should be banned from ICT games for life let's be honest they have become an absolute embarrassment to this club the fact that some defend them because they create an atmosphere no longer cuts it with me If we do indeed go down let's hope they go and follow either sides of the old firm where their antics will be more welcome Dougal
  7. He has indeed been a terrible signing, and he won't be cheap either. McKay has turned out to be a huge waste of money too, not because of any lack of ability or effort, but because the way Foran has us playing makes little use of his attributes. Interesting that this pair of international strikers are being relegated from this league 2 seasons in a row. I look forward to County panic-signing them next January.
  8. 11 Alex Fishers
  9. Pulling the threads together here, if we have another financial year in the Championship like last time (£900k loss), then our balance sheet asset surplus could well be gone and we could be "balance sheet insolvent" before the first season is out. Apart from the fact that shares could then be worth nothing technically, Richie might not need the whole 4 years to bring us to the bottom of Scottish football's pyramid.
  10. I agree with much of what you say in terms of likely burdens and responsibilities for fan ownership. However, although there are more than 3 million £1 shares in issue, the balance sheet value of them is effectively less than £600k at the last balance sheet date (31 May 2016) because of accumulated losses of over £3m. I.e. if you added all the profits or losses together from the birth of the legal entity in February 1994 then it is a total loss to the tune of well over £3.4m. These latest accounts to 31 May last year are available for anyone to see at https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/SC149117/filing-history The club is a small company that doesn't need to publicly file a detailed profit and loss account. However the informed reader of even abbreviated versions can readily see that those who invested in these shares did it as a labour of love given they are highly unlikely to ever see a full return. Charlie Christie spoke on the radio of a day of reckoning / dark days ahead iirc ... It is a minor miracle that we've come as far as we have. It seems that big one-off pay days like McKay, Christie, Scottish Cup merely help to keep us going a bit longer because the true, harsh reality is we run at a significant deficit year in, year out.
  11. Why would CaleyD have anymore idea than the next punter? Like Caleyjagsforever he seems to disappear from CTO when there's no topics available to happy clap on Dougal
  12. MrMantis I agree with you Problem with Charlie is he could never cope with criticism either as a player or a manager and walking into this sort of situation, well the pressure and scrutiny he would be under would be intense and I doubt he could handle it I personally don't think his outburst to the press is touting for the managers job but more with what's going on financially behind the scenes Dougal
  13. It doesn't work like that! But he would be a great candidate in the unlikely event that he wanted the job on the terms we can offer.
  14. Only one man to blame and he knows it. KENNY CAMERON
  15. Fon Williams Raven Warren Mckay McNaughton Cole Draper Tansey Mulraney Fisher Billy Mckay
  16. Ah but did the 3 goals all cross the line
  17. Really? Let's take a look at what you said just before Hughes left and Foran came in. Hmm, so far it looks like you're pretty non plussed about Hughes leaving recognising that his style of play has it's limitations. Nothing obviously at this stage of anything suggesting that you had called out the new exciting brand of football as nonsense. Some pretty fair comments here, reservations about the lack of experience which was echoed by a number of ICT fans on here at the time and, with hindsight, a very accurate comment about needing an experienced number two. Still nothing about calling out the style of play as rubbish. Again, repeating the reservations concerning lack of experience but again nothing about calling out the new style of football as you claim. More doubts but ultimately comments hoping that Foran does well. I sense a pattern here. This is the last post of yours I could find close enough to the time of Forans appointment which talked about your thoughts on him taking charge. Yet again, no comments whatsoever about the style of play and indeed you thought we might even get into the top six! That's definitely setting your expectations quite low especially given your concerns about his lack of experience... You almost seem pleased that Foran has failed so you can tell everyone "I told you so!" yet it's also clear that some of the bold claims you are making now about being some kind of prophecy regarding calling out the style of football that was going to be on show are a load of bollocks.
  18. On the Fans ownership thread elsewhere I posted about the club's annual accounts. In that post It's clear that they are easy to find/download. We've accumulated well over £3m of losses since 1994 and the people who have invested almost £4m in shares are unlikely to see any of their £ again, not because they don't want the money back but because the vast majority of the money has gone over the years in keeping the club alive. It relies on windfalls like Christie. I'm not an insider, I'm just reading the publicly available accounts. Given we made a £1m loss in the year following the last relegation, we could be staring down the barrel of an insolvency event (and all that that entails) in the next one/two years unless the board are ruthless with spend or we get a significant benefactor ... and that's even if we keep fans / ST-holders coming along. Goodness knows it's hard viewing just now but, plain and straight, I truly believe that our decisions as supporters over the next few months will come down to whether we want to see our club die or not.
  19. The contract clauses shall be interesting. It would be in the interest of both player and club to have the highest earners - Warren, draper and Fon I presume - on release clauses for relegation, or at the very least a big Percentage paycut . Whilst their experience could be valuable their wages could cripple us i suspect. The loss of away fans, before even considering the potential loss of some home fans will drastically reduce our average attendance. It's just hitting home to me now how bad the situation is. Big cloth cutting incoming. Still, looking forward to fresh feel of a new division.
  20. Fisher deserves a contract for all the hard work he's put in this season. Feel he's been massively overlooked. Crying out for players with heart all season long then lo and behold we've had one on the bench all season. Gigantic oversight from Foran to only realise this with 6 games left. The man always gives 110% and he's a fantastic addition to the squad. A definite fans favourite too, I really admire the way he's always the last to leave the field after clapping the fans, and of course giving his shirt to fans after Motherwell. Hardly a Scott Sinclair but definitely not a bad player to have at all. I'm a massive admirer of his.
  21. Disappointed that Mulraney who seems to have little other than pace and Doran who I see as a high wage injury liability are signed on. MacNaughton should not be offered a contract we have enough experience in the team already with Raven, Warren, Draper and pretty sure Tremarco is signed up another year - with Doran on the books last thing we need is another high paid wage wasted. Laing & Brad should be offered deals, I think both can perform well at Championship level and use any money we can to try tie up Fisher - the Championship relies on having a goal scorer on your books. If we could, I'd consider selling OFW and Polly if decent offers come in, additionally I wouldn't be shocked to see Hearts, Aberdeen or Hibs come calling for Draper - he adds steel and fight to any midfield - everyone knows this and any fan I speak to from other teams would take him. Rebuilding is required but paying loan fees, paying high loan wages or signing 30 odd year olds with injury problems or non-league players is not the way. We need guys who have been released or struggled at parent clubs - in the early to mid 20's with experience of Scottish football with the desire and drive to prove themselves and move on individually and with the club. If we cant find that then blood our own youngsters but stop filling the team with journeymen or huge gambles with limited drive and ability.
  22. Without going totally off topic, McNaughton should not be kept - high wage, injury liability, with the experience of Warren, Tremarco, Draper Raven all still around his wage would be better spent on younger players we could try build around for the future.
  23. The starting 11 moving forward now needs to be those that are here next season and we have a future with, out of contract and loan players need dropped. Its time to look at building going forwards. Most have failed to deliver this season but the likes of Tansey & Billy deserve a few mins to see the fans off between now and the end of the campaign but others like Cole, King, Mulraney etc its bye bye. Might also be worth RF letting the team decide what formation and positions to play - he clearly isn't able to get it right. Otherwise I expect the usual lottery draw of formation and line up.
  24. Foran ain't going anywhere, say what you want about Richie but he ain't no quitter I reckon he's already been told that he will be leading the team in the championship next season and that he probably knew before taking this job that relegation was a distinct possibility at the start of this campaign A lot of folk were seething about the way Hughes left but I think Yogi had a good idea what was coming Dougal
  25. One thing that puzzles me when I consider our predicament- how the hell did we beat Rangers?! Basically we are a shambles of a team that is without a league win in 6 months or 23 games, apart from this absolute aberration in the middle of it. How did it happen, beating one of the better teams in the league, and why couldn't we win before or since?
  26. In my dreams he gets lured by County and works his magic over there instead.
  27. I'm astonished at the number of fans saying this recently. We were all delighted when those potential moves were knocked back, we are all sick of our biggest assets being pinched on the cheap by rival clubs. We'd all have been raging if we'd lost those 2 at those times.
  28. Can't believe someone gave 5 points to Polworth. Cost his team a goal, got sent off and his dive in the first half when there was a great chance to score was an embarrassment.
  29. With all of Charlie's knowledge, passion and skills why is he not more instrumental inside the club in moving us forward? He is the only one i have heard who talks sense, has a vision and understands the game - in a way no director has ever uttered. Put him on the board, or make him director of football, or whatever title you want, but give him some clout inside the club, especially when it comes to choosing the next manager this summer, and building a new squad. otherwise we are only going one way - further down the divisions.
  30. Let's get somebody in charge with some footballing sense. What pisses me off is that everybody is having a go at Foran NOW whereas most punters saw this coming at Xmas. The backers of Foran - our Board - are to blame. Foran has been the sacrificial cheap joint of lamb but the Board have to admit that ultimately 1 star is not enuff. if Foran goes so should Cameron
  31. Foran shouldn't be made the scapegoat. The hierarchy must take responsibility for their actions or, more appropriately, inactions !!
  32. Can we now banish the 'Pride of the Highlands' logo now please it's just adding to the embarrassment? Thank you.
  33. Hats off to any of our fans staying in the stadium to the bitter end, it must be excruciating being there!
  34. What connects the delayed kick off and that performance? An effing car crash!
  35. OUT? Should never have been appointed. Board went for cheap option and why pay for another coach now. They did not invest when they should have on back of cup run and good league runs. Always scared of going down and they are now paying the price now. Are the two stands still rented as was cheap option
  36. Agreed, it is also strong evidence that our own youth system need a serious overhaul of attitude and personnel if we are ever going to be able to develop players for the senior squad on anything like a regular basis. One of the many things that needs to be looked at once this season is over.
  37. With the benefit of hindsight, the board's first mistake was in not letting Hughes speak to united, and that was compounded by not taking the money for Tansey. So when it all went wrong with Hughes, the cheap option of Foran was probably the only way.
