If a colts team in the Highland league benefits Caley/Thistle develop a few future first team players then I hope they are successful with their attempts to join. It also means we have a home game in Sneck every Saturday and a local derby with Clach.2 points

That was why we were refused last time. The HL rightly felt it devalued their league2 points

Caleyboy's post above went up while I was typing my last one and this, although stated somewhat less generously, is entirely consistent with my understanding.1 point

The world has gone mad. I'm really glad I'm a Caley Thistle fan and not a fan of one if the mega bucks elite! Obscene indeed is an understatement!1 point

Just to put it into perspective, what Neymar will be paid every two weeks at PSG will be more that the vast majority of people in this country earn in a 45 year working life. Obscene does not begin to describe it!1 point

Sadly TV money & UEFA have killed the game. The closed shop of the Champions League and vast TV money is creating this market and as said if the consumer stops paying then where will it all go, people are turning off in droves as the CL becomes predictable and boring with the same teams playing year on year - how many times over the last 10 years have Arsenal played Barca or Bayern for arguments sake. PSG have an average crowd of around 45k per year, that's less than even Rangers or Celtic where 20 years ago top players moved for money that even these clubs can afford (ignoring EBT's) to compete for - Cadete, van Hooidonk, di Canio, van Bronkhorst, Gazza etc etc - now the top countries with the TV money are spending like crazy and those on the outside are scraping around to survive. Teams like Rosenberg, Copenhage, Ajax, Porto who are teams that have history in the CL and won their leagues are now punted in favour of a 4th place from Spain, Germany, England or Italy - its a corrupt monopoly that's killing the game slowly.1 point

The Neymar transfer probably has more to do with the Qataris making a political statement than the general financing of football. But, yes, it is disgusting. Of course, the more general trend in football financing is driven in a large part by the consumers. If consumers didn't pay Sky and BT large amounts of money to watch these players and if the consumers weren't sucked into buying the vastly over-priced and over hyped "must have" branded products which are advertised by these broadcasters then there wouldn't be that sort of money around to pay the top players such obscene amounts. If instead, people supported their local sides, they may not see as much quality play but they would get something far more worthwhile with the emotional engagement with the club and the community around it. With money distributed more evenly, then far more hard working professional players would be able to make a living from the game. By our own consumer choice we create the very inequalities we so deplore.1 point

Gentlemen, how do you know that R F was sacked? Maybe he left voluntarily having negotiated a fair exit package.. The club seems to have been amazingly quiet on that situation. Depends on his contract terms doesn't it really?1 point

Maybe we could make it look more legit by having it in Latin : Latin translation of Pride of the Highlands is altitudo montis which literally translated means 'height of the mountains' or if entering it word by word it would be superbia de montanis universisque Only joking .... happy with our proper badge1 point

I wasnt actually being sarcastic ... and if you search back the forums, you will see my views on the crest match yours.1 point

No need for the sarcasm Scotty. I don't think I'm on my own with my views on that hideous club crest appearing on official club stationery. That is NOT our official club badge/crest and well you know it.1 point

I agree. This appointment lacks imagination and is a wasted opportunity. Danny MacDonald is a football man who has had mixed success previously at the club. The fact is that, the last couple of seasons apart, we have been pretty good at the football side of things given our resources and, in the likes of Robbo, Charlie Christie and Brian Rice, there are a number at the club with a footballing background, football connections and football knowledge. Where we have been very very poor ever since entering the league is on the marketing and commercial side whether that be in selling tickets and enthusing and engaging the Inverness public or in shifting merchandise and raising the profile of the club in a manner that generates income. There was an opportunity in creating the new post of general manager to bring in a fresh face with fresh ideas from a marketing and commercial background and try something new. Instead we appoint a familiar face who brings nothing new to the club. Very disappointing but not in the least surprising.0 points

Jack Leitch has signed for Peterhead. I'd say they're about his level from what we saw of him.0 points

Aaron Doran - Club Legend
tm4tj posted an article in News 2024-25,
Shameful: Thanks to Shane Sutherland, the generosity of friends, fans, former colleagues and opponents, Aaron has now had his operation. However it has emerged that he had posted on Instagram regarding his sad dismissal and treatment from the Board of Inverness CT who have treated Aaron in a similar way to which they have been treating the fans. Let's not forget that Aaron was due to have a testimonial for his service to the club.-

Administration pending unless...

Administration pending, unless... How can we go from SupercaleygoballisticCelticareatrocious in the year 2000, to Scottish Cup Winners in 2015, playing in Europe and just 9 years after lifting the Cup; Administration. Mismanagement and our demise was hastened by the appointment of Scot Gardiner. Ever since then, ludicrous decision making has seen our stock plummet whilst 'shady' dealings were investigated. The failed Concert Company, the Battery Storage, the Statkraft contract have all ended badly leaving the club facing insolvency.
That's another fine mess you've got us into.-

New Chairman Wanted, Apply Within
tm4tj posted an article in News 2023-24,
Chairman Ross Morrison resigns
Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June. More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.
Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”
Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.
“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.
“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”-
