I dont know Ross personally but hearing good things about him. He is a supporter of the club and also a member of the community charity board. I actually think this is a positive appointment personally.
  2. Tyrone Smith from STV has just tweeted that Scott Kellacher is the new assistant manager. Barry Wilson joins as a coach.

LOL = Who remembers "The MOB" ?

If Ross is really an ardent fan of ICT I expect to see him at the Cove Rangers game setting off smoke bombs when our 5th goal goes in.
  5. Second half of last season we were by far the best team in the league if we can start the same this season and maintain that level of consistency then I'd see no reason why we can't push for the title. Why are people so afraid of the so called bigger name clubs in this league like Dundee utd etc? I'll happily give up retaining the irn Bru cup for winning promotion.
  6. It was a statement of my personal opinion. I never named names. But it appears that I am far from being the sole discerner. I have criticised the board as their handling of social media and fan engagement has been dire. As I alluded to they had more pressing tasks to attend to first and hopefully now that will commence. My wish was and is that CJT will provide a strong voice and this will not be a turkey shoot as it has been for some time. My concern is that divisions and personal suspicions may have developed on BOTH sides and there simply has to be more give and take. Nothing wrong with having a pop with a rationale but adding a more positive observation in there as well.
  7. As I have said many times before, the biggest investor we could have would be 1000 extra fans each week but they will just not attend, or regularly at least. In the long term, this makes the task of getting promoted much harder for us than some other teams in this league with greater support. Over to you fellow Invernessians.
  8. At least we won't have to listen to Wilson ripping in to the club on BBC radio now.
  9. Only the hardy few who made it to Keith on Saturday can honestly claim to be "ardent". Everyone else is just playing at it. #ictelite #almondmagnumcrew #kynochparkhardcore #fortgeorgelightweights
  10. Don't spoil it for the mob!
  11. Yeah especially if England get to the Semi's (probably unlikely) ..... ....Although not all ICT supporters are Scottish.
  12. Some mod with editing skills might want to move the discussion developing here regarding crowd figures to it's own thread, in the meantime here are my 2 cents. 80% of fans attending games couldn't name anyone on the board, and couldn't care less about social media or engagement. They just care about what's going on on the pitch. It's just the hardcore fans who have strong views on this stuff IMO. The biggest obstacles preventing Inverness from attracting higher crowds are: 1) The stadium. It's location is picturesque, the architects blueprints looked spectacular, and at the time of it's construction - the area was hyped for future 'high value' developments taking place around it. In reality, it was a total white elephant. Situated on the outskirts of an industrial estate, miles away from residential areas, a 'community hub' it ain't. The facilities in the stadium put most local community centres to shame, but are barely used outside match days - being, as they are, in the middle of nowhere. This is the primary source of lack of 'engagement' with the community IMO. Were TCS located at Telford Street or Kingsmills Park (both disadvantageous for different reasons), I imagine it would be a very different story. 2) Ticket prices. Attending Caley and Thistle games in the 90s was easily affordable for your average working class family. Today it's simply unaffordable for those on lower wages. This might be pie in the sky, but some kind of socialist system for season tickets (take ID and your P60 to the ticket office to prove your wage) might help in this regard, and get the club some positive publicity. To summarize the solutions are: Accessability - A stadium situated within the community, with facilities available, open and easy to book for the community. Affordability - A price structure that allows individuals and families of all income levels to attend matches. You're welcome!
  13. The last Caley player I saw take a penalty was Billy Urqhart. To be fair, as I recall, he struck it well.
  14. The penalty at Keith was stonewall and I have to say very confidently hit. Great to see a Caley player actually putting their foot through the ball rather than trying to be *cough Vigurs* too cute *cough Vigurs* and missing *cough cough VIGURS*. Sorry I think my sore throat is playing up.
  15. ^ having a board that act with a bit of integrity and professionalism delivering on their promises and treating the fans as being important and not as a taken for granted commodity? Be a good starting point at least!!!
  16. I hope someone told jagster he could have brought his own pie as well
  17. Same for me. And also for the manager to continue with a positive and attractive style of play. Where this takes us is anybody's guess. We have a small squad and regardless of how good they are and how well they gel together as a team, all of that can be turned on its head with a bad run of injuries. We have seen before how we have struggled with 4 or 5 regulars missing but also how we can go on decent runs when able to field most of the first choice 11. Our success also depends on the squads and fortunes of the other teams last year. Every year this division finds one or two teams doing better than expected and others less well. One hope (rather than an expectation) is that Aaron Doran gets back to his best. After his horrific injury he has put in a lot of really hard work to get himself back in the side but he has yet to show the same speed and sharpness that he did before. He's still young though and maybe a combination of continued recovery and experience will help him become a really effective player at this level. I think the lad deserves some success and I think the club deserve it too for the support they have given him and the faith shown to give him a new contract. Fingers crossed.
  18. Nobody should expect too much too soon. The organisation has not been functioning properly for a very long time. There is no point in attempting to ascribe blame for that now. The first task of the new board is to get it's domestic house in order and, after so much chaos for so long, we need to cut them some slack and allow them at least a couple of meetings to get their feet under the table before getting on with the more serious business. There is much to do but it's important this time that it's dine properly. If that means waiting for a few months then so be it.
  19. As far as I am concerned I have both praised and criticised the Board. My perception is that it is mainly the CJT names that are making most of the negative criticism and encouraging some others to criticise with no clear rationale or understanding of business. And just look at who has overreacted !! This forum lives on speculation, rumour and personal opinions. Long may it last. I just wish that the vultures would ignore the scraps every now and then and announce that they are not feeding on raw grizzle and advise the flock of seagulls to retreat.
  20. Yeovil would make sense if true, it is close to Bristol where he is from. I just hope he has had a fair settlement and is on a good deal with them. Good luck Gary and thank you for your leadership, commitment, passion and the memories!
  21. Appropriate prices for what is a glorified training session IMO.
  22. The website has been partly corrected: we are now playing Keith in Kieth.
  23. Guess you don't even go to the big games then.
  24. That is a really unfair comment Johndo sorry. You need to remember that this is only one source of fan opinion and I do wonder if you are seeing this from outside Inverness? My main form of fan engagement is twitter and I can assure you a lot of the younger fans are not happy re the lack of decent social media and fan engagement frim the club. However this has all become far too much at the moment and I shall just keep my PERSONAL opinions re anything to do with the club to myself for now. Thank goodness there is football to watch today!!!
