  1. The first misplaced pass yesterday was met with a chorus of groans, whistles and boos. There wasn't a single effort to get behind the team at all yesterday from the home support. Granted there wasn't much to get excited about but away from home the supporters are lifting the players from kick off and it helps them a lot.
  2. 7 games in and in a healthy position.......BUT the home crowd expects easy wins every match......this is not realistic even with actual Support and Realism..................our aim surely is to be close to the top come 28th February 2019 ready for a good finish. Patience is a virtue providing things are ticking over. Is it too much to ask everyone to get behind the team next Saturday in yet another difficult game? Or will we assume that we have an easy win after Ayr beat them 5-1? Next week's game will be difficult - let us support all the players, and management.
  3. To be fair that did them no favours last weekend. Barely heard a peep from their fans during the game. Home supports are simply quieter in general compared to away fans.
  4. Absolutely. I understand the frustration from the fans and I share it but I've never understood what people hope to achieve by whining at and booing their own players.
  5. I must watch a different game with White getting all the blame lol , the reason we didn’t get the goals yesterday was that Queens sat in and cut of the runners from the three behind White not allowing them to perform as well as they have done and hardly any chances were created. White as a target man is decent and yesterday he still led the line well ,we have 3 good strikers unfortunately Oakley is injured and Young Daniel is there for backup . let’s be honest the team have done well over the season. Maybe we need to go with 442 in next game with Austin and White up top but then I would start Calder and Walsh wide with Polwarth in centre mid , the big choice would then be one out of three for remaining central midfield slot in Welsh , Chalmers or Doran Who would be a Manager lol Thats why we need to leave it to Robbo and IMO he has done not too bad this season in his management. Why don’t we try and see the positives and get behind the team at home like we do away , funny that we have won away at Falkirk Dunfermline and did well at County. You would think we were at a funeral at home so maybe us fans have to take a bit of the blame too and make some noise instead of coming on here and talking about being bored and nit picking at players performance, we are playing in the Scottish Championship , not la liga or The Premier League in England , and we are the only unbeaten team in the league. Onwards to next weeks game and let’s see what the managers team selection will be.
  6. I think OCG was suggesting that if we try to improve the supply to the strikers then perhaps they might score more goals. We didn't really create any chances of note yesterday compared to recent weeks and the introduction of Calder seemed to give us a bit more of a threat in the wide areas in the second half.
  7. Not our best day at the office although Donaldson was outstanding.
  8. Well, a bit of a long day for me. up at 5am for the long hike up and back down South again at 1am in the morning. Arguably the game didn't justify the effort, but any opportunity to see Caley live, is one I enjoy! The weather made the whole game a bit of a lottery, and I don't think some of the people around me appreciated that! But other than the free kick we kept Dobbie quiet and hence ensured the clean sheet. At the other end though we didn't really threaten, although we dominated the game for much of the first half. Second half QoS came into it more, maybe the wind was in their favour, but we eventually got more control. Of the new guys Welsh impressed me a fair bit, and Walsh looks like a more consistent version of Mulraney. Watching Rooney, the word that comes to mind is 'solid' ....not necessarily in a good way! He seems dangerous rampaging forward in a straight line, but anything that involves a change in direction, or quick reactions seems beyond him, and watching him try to shimmy past a defender, well his brain might be telling him he can do it, but his talent doesn't extend that far! Not convinced he is an upgrade on Seedorf or better long term propect, but hey we got a clean sheet against Ayr and he's scored two goals so what do I know. The rest of the defence did a fine job with what they were facing. First time I've seen White, and he looks OK as a target man, winning the ball and laying it off a few times, but doesn't look like the man to score many goals, not without a second foward next to him. The last time I saw Austin was in the late season game against Dunfermline, when he was brilliant, then got injured and we lost our momentum....so it was good to see him back, and he had a few moments that were encouraging, along with Mackay and Calder, which was good to see, as it feels like there were options on the bench. Doran was possibly a contender for MoTM for us, much of the good stuff came from him, and to think of all those months when he was never fit, it's great to see. Polly was busy but quiet at the same time, whereas Chalmers looked like he is a decent footballer, but his touch was off....to progress this season we need to move away from two deep lying midfielders to one with the other much closer to the front man. Which brings me to Angus Beith...what the hell has happened to this guy? No appearances, no subs bench, is he injured or what? I was hoping he was the new messiah to replace Vigurs. So not quite firing on all cylinders, not a match to linger long in the memory, but at this early stage of the season we are well in contention, so still happy.
  9. The only highlight I can remember was laughing at the sprinkler at HT blowing back into the main stand and giving everyone behind it a shower..... Apart from that, emm the drive home?
  10. I've tended to disagree with you on this one Gregor, here's the report............... Footage to follow when available.
  11. Football stewards and the excercise of common sense is not a combination often seen.
  12. Well that was hard going, and the weather didn't help. I think we could have played till midnight and not scored. We really do have problems in the striking department. White doesn't seem able to jump to win a ball and his close control is non existent. We improved a little when Mackay and Austin came on but too little too late. The longer the game went on, the narrower we became. We need to stretch a rigid back four and that starts with wingers. Calder must deserve a chance to start and give us the width on the left, and the day Chalmers plays a forward pass can't come too soon. It's a point, but we need to get three at home.
  13. When we had a similar situation a while back I wrote to the SFA about the situation. I said I wanted to be a responsible supporter and follow the police advice and make my way straight to Hampden after getting off the train. I informed them that the last train before kick off got in the night before kick off and I therefore expected to arrive at Hampden some time before 11pm. Given that it seemed unreasonable to expect me to hang around outside the stadium all night I asked if I could be let in and pitch a tent on the pitch. Funnily enough, I never got a reply!
  14. Calders not a striker. Given our distinct lack of options RE strikers, White is proving to be pretty static... Oakley is out for the foreseeable and Daniel is too young and unlikely to start or last 90 mins. So again it begs the question, if not Austin... Who do we use?
  15. This!! I was beginning to think it was just me? I would like to see Calder given a chance.
  16. Robbo's quote from the BBC Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager John Robertson: "We definitely wanted to win it but Queen of the South came out with a really rigid formation for us to play through - we couldn't do it. "We're seven games undefeated this season and we want to win our home games. We need to be better than that if we want to challenge for the title and the top places." He is right with the last sentence!
  17. I had thought he was starting to show promise but today he was utter pump, I'd far rather see Austin start as sole striker with Daniel coming on a lot sooner than he seems to
  18. I have my doubts we'll ever see him on the pitch, he's probably not even contracted to us and was just a rouse to make the mulraney move look better, pretty sure I seen a life-size cardboard cut out of him in the shop.
  19. Highlight of the game for me was going to the toilet.
  20. You could see the difference when Austin & Calder came on, more width and pace with some good crosses in. The addition of Mckay always produces an increase in tempo and chances. I wonder why we leave the substitutions so late in the game? If players are brought on to make a difference or have an effect, surely they need some time to do so !!!!
  21. One word for that.... Abysmal
