  1. In all fairness, despite the loss, it was still enjoyable, and will go down in the club's history. Back on that cold night in November at Ainslie Park, I can firmly and confidently say that not a single soul who was there, had the word "Hampden" on their minds. We far exceeded ourselves, and on the bright side, we can focus on our play off attempt, and return back to the top.
  2. We have missed coll in defence today but chalmers so unlucky with his free kick strike. Unfortunately hearts have neutralized polworth in midfield and it shows how much he has created for us through midfield over the season.
  3. It would be easy to be disappointed today but this was the diddy team mixing it with Celtic, Aberdeen and Hearts. Amazing really when you consider Owain Fon Williams , Col Donaldson and Sean Welsh were out of the squad. We've lost Angus Beith from the squad. We probably had to sell George Oakley in January. Daniel Mackay has had an injury packed season. Carl was injured quite early on in today's game. We had three youngsters on the bench today. So all things taken into account, quite a remarkable achievement. The cup experience this year might prove very useful in the potential games against Ayr assuming we make the play offs. With us having a superior goal difference and 8 point advantage, I cannot see Dunfermline winning all three of their remaining games and us losing all four of ours although nothing can be taken for granted. Tuesday game at Morton is now a big game - we move on.
  4. Following Ayr's game last night their form is now 7 points out of the last 24 available. If it's them we'll face in the playoffs (looking likely) let's hope they keep up that form!
  5. Whilst Hearts are rightly hot favourites, we are unbeaten in our last 3 trips to Hampden and not many clubs can say that!
  6. All things considered it wasn't our day today. Hearts on the day had a bit too much for us and we didn't get any breaks. However I am sure the team will all be very disappointed as are the rest of us. The support at the game was superb and it would be good for that to continue into the coming games. The ship sails on...
  7. What a ridiculous post. The second half was a bit disappointing and we defended poorly but there is nothing new there. Folk seem to be overlooking the fact that Hearts have a player budget almost six times ours.
  8. Rooney is having a howler. Second goal down to Rooney not putting that out for a throw.

This all day long. Yogi, great coach, good at improving players. Yogi awful recruiter of talent. Don't be naive, Yogi played his part in relegation, he wanted to push the club forward for his own ego, raising budgets and then wasting it on players. He has a very high opinion of himself. Financially we are still recovering from this. The warning signs for our relegation season with Foran were starting to appear under Hughes.
  10. Early on in the season if someone had said to me we will make the semi-final in the Scottish Cup I would have laughed After today's effort I will now settle for the play off final if we can get behind the team and make it
  11. Hard ask today hearts came out 2nd half looking to force us into errors they've managed to bully us then went 1 up but we were so unlucky with the free kick and mcart goal no disgrace today we have improved greatly from the poor start of the season play offs now is our target if we can pinch 3rd place all the better let's get right behind the boys
  12. Austin is terrible, he offers nothing and needs punted
  13. Josh Meekings and Ross Tokely
  14. Once playoffs are confirmed we must rest players...we don't have the depth that Dundee Utd have. Good chance for the young lads to prove themselves in senior games.
  15. A point on Tuesday confirms the play off place ?.
  16. Shaun Rooney was absolutely abysmal
  17. I've heard we've sold around 3,000 tickets. It's disappointing it's not more, but it would appear to be a good few more than come to watch home games in the league. Hopefully a good performance will persuade a few folk to come along and support the lads in the bread and butter games as well.

Watkins, Shinnie and Christie were all signed up by the club when the budget for signing players was far less than Hughes had at its disposal. What successive managers have been good at is identifying young players with promise or perhaps some not so young who appear to be under-performing at the clubs they are at, and realising that potential. Esson, Warren, Raven, Tremarco, Draper, Tansey, Mckay, Doran are all examples of that and there are many others. But that stopped with Hughes. He had the biggest player budget any manager of this club has ever had, but just who are the signings he made who have gone on to give the type of impact at the club that the players I have listed have done?
  19. As you say, without being complacent, there is every ground for optimism. Assuming we fend off Dunfermline for at least fourth spot we have no need to fear either Ayr or United over two legs and whichever Championship side reaches the final stands a sporting chance against the second worse team in a pretty mediocre Premiership. Add the excitement of tomorrow's semi final and it's the best time to be an ICT fan in at least three years. Robbo doesn't get enough credit for what he has achieved with limited resources and a sometimes inept board of directors.
  20. I’ve a nightmare.... pre booked holiday in Cyprus (ok, not that bad) but our flight to Gatwick is 5 minutes after kick off. I won’t know the result until we land at 1715. It will then be a happy or dismal period before our Inverness flight at 2030. And I’ve to drive home.... I was at the semi in 2015 and hope you all have as great a day as I had then. Come on Caley Thistle, make this a great season that we will all remember!!
  21. There sure is. Alloa's 3 wins in a row have certainly made things interesting. Our promotion play off place is far from guaranteed and if Dunfermline make up a bit of ground on Ayr and us we might go into the final round of games with no club definitely staying in the championship next season. The play offs certainly keep the interest going. Mind you, in the English league one relegation battle where there are no play-offs with only 5 games to go only 6 points separate 13th from 23rd with 3 of those sides going down.

Thank you Scotty. I feel like I've made a similar post half a dozen times.
  23. Who else could replace White!? Is Austin not our only other striker plus what can he do when he is not on the pitch long enough to make an impact!!?
  24. I totally expected us to win we rolled over to hearts let them bully us! Hearts are no great shakes remind me of the old Wimbledon team I'm gutted bout the loss and 2nd half performance not 2 mention the £20 on 2-1 with Doran as 1st scorer at 100-1!!!

Unless we've secretly drafted in our 2015 squad, we're scuppered
  26. Ffs out with a shameful whimper fckin brutal performance looking like a pub team this 2nd half! Raging watching this
