I don't buy into the idea that football should be 3pm on a Saturday "because that's when it's always been played". However, I do think the inconsistency, and often short notice of changes, generates a lot of frustration and hassle for fans. That's part of the reason I think shifting the entire calendar to a Friday night with 8.00pm or later kick-off time would help as it immediately removes the current need to shift them outwith the TV black-out period....it may even encourage more beneficial/profitable deals to be down with broadcasters. I get that it may not suit some of those who currently attend games on a Saturday, but when you start looking at the attendance figures for Friday night games home crowds are generally as good as a Saturday. I'd rather see a policy that promotes a larger home crowd, even if it does mean we have a few less traveling fans. It's those home fans who will buy the merchandise, spend in the bar and do all the other things which help improve a club. We bang on about how we have to compete with other activities at weekends as if we somehow expect those businesses to stop trying to compete with us....and that's never going to happen....so move to a time where there's less competition and more consistency with fixture days/times.
  2. We didn't 'bottle' it. We overcame a very talented and rather highly paid development team of a club with close to twenty five times our income in horrendous weather conditions and in the face of two terrible officiating decisions one of which deprived us of a penalty and a player for a large chunk of the second half and the other of a perfectly valid goal. A little more positively on reaching a national final might not go amiss.

We do not want the game on Friday the 10th April to end too late if we are playing the next day at Hampden on the 11th against Celtic!!!

It was particularly impossible for those of us who had booked flights and an overnight stay expecting the game to be played on a Saturday, before it was re-scheduled for TV
  6. Now I'm disappointed I can't red dot myself 😞

Id say Saturday night better than Friday night for most? Especially for away games? We were at Partick on a Friday with a 0705 ko last season which is impossible for those working a Friday afternoon.
  8. More than half of the current population of the greater Inverness area were either not living there, unborn or less than eight years of age at the time of the merger. There are many and complex reasons why we have been unable to sustain a large and loyal supporter base. The most important of these at the moment is that there is a team twenty minutes away playing more entertaining football with better players in a more pleasant and accessible stadium while we are struggling in the second tier. I appreciate that there are those that are obsessed with and very vocal about battles fought and lost over quarter of a century ago but the merger only had a very limited effect on attendances at the outset of our journey as a combined club and the effect now sits somewhere between negligible and non existent. We are unlikely to ever fill our current ground but crowds of three to four thousand home fans are entirely possible for a team playing attractive football in the mid to higher reaches of the Premierhip especially if improvements are made to such things as facilities, car park management, catering and the general matchday experience.
  9. There were some impressive performances in that Colts side. Don't forget they beat good English National League sides in Solihull Moors and Wrexham to get to the semi. Some of those lads will go on to be stars and rightly so. I just hope it's not at that poor excuse for a football club. One other thing I noticed at the end of the game, those young lads went over to applaud the local plastic Sevco fans but most had already left by then. So another Challenge Cup final, we love it. Raith Rovers will be no push over and it should be a cracker of a game.
  10. Once they leave Ibrox because Sevco have splurged millions of funny money on expensive signings leaving no place for them, I hope some of that Sevcolts team find their way to TCS.
  11. Wonder if the SPFL will be hauling Robbo up again after those comments about the ref? Not because he was wrong, because he was totally spot on about that ref. He gave nearly everything the other way. Especially not blowing for the fowl on Charlie in the first half and then sending Keatings off, when it was obvious even to a blind man that there was plenty of contact.
  12. I’d hazard a well educated guess there are more born and bred Invernessians that follow County than ICT. Think we need to remember that ICT were not formed for the fans they were formed for the ego trippers and the greed of certain local businessmen. Along with the worst possible location in Inverness to put a football stadium our attendances are no surprise to me. Busses leave town to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee and Dingwall every Saturday with Inverness football fans, there is no town or city in the whole of Scotland that has such a diversity of fans that support clubs other than their local team. When you have large swathes of Inverness like Merkinch and Dalneigh who despise us we struggle for identity The Inverness football fraternity was ripped to shreds from the off and it will take a generation or two before the wounds heal over. 13. Wee cup final like this gonna do nothing for the coffers Robbo needs to do what he should've done the 1st season and get us promoted if not he should pack it in and let somebody else have a pop decent thing to do since we plucked him from decade long retirement ! Well chuffed we won but every week now somebody moaning bout poor refs it's swings and roundabouts some u get others u don't our main downfall has been the same for years now can't kill teams of no goalscorers
