Agree. You put the best team you can on the park in every game. Don't risk anyone who is injured or not fully fit but put out the best team you can from those available and only put the youngsters in where you have no option or where you feel they are good enough. Bigger worry is why we have so many injured? Is it the training regime? lack of recovery plans? putting players in too early after injury? Poor medical routines? I don't recall us ever having things quite so bad. ever.

I’m sorry, I disagree with the club on this. We certainly should not risk anyone carrying a knock, but we should play those who are fit and use Saturday to try and build confidence in a game where league points are not at stake. Fans like a cup run and we should be aiming to have one in this, particularly as our promotion hopes are fading so quickly. This season could effectively peter out which is in nobody’s interests.

These young guys are playing for our club, they deserve all our support. It is a shame they are put in this position, so let's get right behind them.

The club will no doubt argue that this is exactly what is happening. the wording of the statement is literally a 'don't travel' notification with a pretty passive aggressive dig at the SPFL. "because of our continued unprecedented injury situation and the lack of assistance we applied for via the proper channels at the SPFL, the club will have no choice but to play a team in this tie which will not include many of our current 1st team squad." If there is blowback, they will argue they asked for assistance, were given none and simply played the strongest team they could. It would be hard to argue that given recent team lines.

But we were meant to get financial stability and growth through a side hustle of concerts and promotions. Now there's the battery storage facility........ All a bit 'This time next year Rodney we'll be millionaires........'

The youngsters can't do any worse than the supposedly first team. Good luck to them and I'm sure they'll give 100% throughout

Diddy cup. Simple. Great run out for the next crop of youngsters, in a no pressure situation. Let's face it. On our current trajectory this game is a direct pathway to the 1st team squad in the not too distant future.

Deciding to effectively forfeit a cup tie is not a decision that the club would take lightly, but I can see the rationale, we just can’t take the unnecessary risk of more first teamers getting injured, in what is a pretty insignificant tournament in both financial and footballing terms. I was surprised by the announcement but probably shouldn’t have been, given what Gardner said recently about the team not training fully during this crisis, to reduce scope for further impact injuries to arise.

Feelings are understandably running high, but I can’t see a change before the end of the season and then only if Dodds is out of contract. Our tactics are strange at times, particularly high balls to the likes of Mckay, Boyd and Doran. We are best when we play it fast and keep it on the ground, but we don’t see that often now, possibly as the players covering the injuries are not comfortable playing that way. We are also shy about shooting, opting for an extra pass far too often. How much if that is down to the Head Coach, we can only guess. However, the injury run must be having an impact. We have had up to 9 missing for weeks, and there could be something in the training regime contributing to that: we can only guess again. We don’t even know, unless I have missed it, what the outlook in the near future is for Delaney, Allardice, Welsh, MacGregor, Samuels or Mckay. I just wonder how recent games would have gone if our starting 11 had been: Ridgers Carson Devine Deas Delaney Allardice Welsh Samuels MacGregor Mackay Mckay That is 8 changes from Saturday and I do feel we’d have got a better outcome. I think we all need to accept nothing will happen until the end of the season.

OK. I accept that. Pleasantly surprised actually.

The match day experience for the majority of us not fortunate to even be offered or afford hospitality has been pretty grim for years. This is not appealing to many and they have rightly given priority to other things like shopping or just staying at home. Yesterday the atmosphere was dire and almost lifeless. The Centenary Club also used to offer much better prizes and events than it does now. The Christmas draw is a huge disappointment and whatever happened to the kids cinema events and parties? I think these had stopped long before Covid. On the playing front if we don't start winning soon we can forget the promotion play offs and try to avoid being sucked into the relegation ones. Personally, I don't think our highly paid CEO, Sporting Director or Head Coach give me the impression or confidence that they will get the club out of the current spiral of decline.

There comes a time to stop digging when you are in a hole. ICT are not quite at the bottom yet (that’s relegation which is a distinct possibility), but the signs are clearly there! I stopped supporting Scotland when Craig Broon got the reigns and filled the team with 10 centre halfs. We’re still suffering from that legacy! Feel that ICT haven’t got over the Ritchie Foran experiment (due to an inept and visionless board)) and like Scotland are still suffering from small thinking boardrooms. Dodds is a product of this board and with the current philosophy things won’t change. We need a complete new structure and vision (5 year) fir the club. I am sure A Savage’s door has been knocked on a few times, so that boat has sailed. The recent podcast was a big improvement in the abismal communication with the fans, so their is some light. Best we can hope for is not coming bottom of the league this year. Part time team is a reality!! bc

Over the years, so many things have been suggested to the club, most are small and quite doable, the club have made the right sounds, but very few are executed. We were told that they'd have a steward directing the whackie exit races while trying to leave the home car park, it's survival of the bravest. The ludicrous disabled parking bays, if they want you to park in them the way they've set them out, you're trapped in there, it doesn't take a genius to work that out. Have team sheets available at all food outlets, have a table set up after you enter the stadium to sell raffle tickets, trust me, they'd sell double if they did this. Have to tv on in the concourse, if there's no live game, show old ICT games, try and create an atmosphere. Display all team photos since 94 on the walls, it would give the supporters something to talk about, it's such a soulless space. What happened to the quiz nights? It certainly helped with the player/supporter bonding, and makes the club tighter. There is so much wrong with the club now, no joy in watching or coming to games, it's the worst I can remember.

Time for Billy to go and take the backroom staff with him. We need to have a fresh team at the club with new ideas.

Never been convinced BD was the right choice and he's done nothing over the last 18 months to change that. It was clear from the outset nepotism was at play and all we have seen just reinforces the fact that capability is secondary to relationships. Moving JR into a DoF role looks a cost burden we cannot afford and its not clear what return is provided. There is a network of 'jobs for the boys' at the club so it's not just BD but a full clear out that's needed. This is the SG effect that was seen at hearts and Dundee now coming through......perhaps covid slowed this down and hid the effects but throw in the farce of concert companies and money losses its only going to get worse. As for injuries, it's an overdone excuse. While limitations in players does affect the strength of team, the tepid play and lack of coherent shape, style or entertainment has been going on for many months. Last year play-offs papered over the cracks but we probably have one of the best squads (not just starting 11 when fit) in the league yet are in danger of being mid to lower table. Last year StJ showed how big the gap to Premiership is now, therefore promotion has to come from winning the league - which again like last year is full of bang average to crap teams and lowest level standard its been in our existence as a club. Right now there is zero chance of winning the league this year so we are already looking at yet another season of Championship football next year with reduced budgets and falling fan interest.

Presumably the Diddy Cup has no rules about that? There have certainly been recent disputes about that in the Football League, which had - maybe still has - requirements for you to play as strong a team as you can.
