  1. On this occasion, I actually think the club are right not to have commented. Until the SFA decision is made, there's no need for us to get involved in the drama. Keep focus on this weekend's match.

  2. I have listened to the post match comments from Billy Dodds. One comment I just cant get my head round is, They, as expected had loads of possession. Queens Park are having a decent season I understand that. Its a Scottish cup game at home against a team in the same league and we are expecting them to have loads of possession. That sums up the shambles we are in at the moment. I really wonder what is getting said to the players before and after games. We have totally lost our identity since we got relegated. This is just not the Caley Thistle I have watched for many years and I fear those days might not return. It is sad to see the way the club is now especially on the playing field and I am not for one minute blaming on the players. A complete change of direction is needed in the summer and we have to put a strong foundation in place to try and build on.

  3. There's nothing motivational in being awarded a 3-0 walkover for a match in where the quality of play would have seen us struggle against the local primary school. If Queens have broken the rules, then they should be punished. If we benefit from that, then we need to show a bit of humility, not got all Billy Big Baws about it.

  4. A simple statement to acknowledge what QP are saying would have sufficed. Maybe they are all out putting up the new roof on the west stand.

  5. To be honest, we don’t deserve to be put through to the fifth round, regardless of the error by Queens Park. We were so poor last night that almost anyone could have beaten us. I’d rather we now focussed on having a good end to the league season, making the play offs and putting things in place for next season.

  6. We can blame Dodds for most of the games we've played this season

  7. We actually went one round further this year: fourth rather than third. May 2015 seems a lifetime ago, as does knocking County out a couple of seasons back. That was as bad a performance as I can remember in a long time. Other than after we weathered the early storm and Henderson hit the post, we were second best all over the park. Doran had a great chance but got his feet in a tangle, although I’m certain he was offside when played through. Other than that, we did nothing. Queens Park passed better, moved better, won all the second balls, created the better chances and could have won more comfortably. They knew how to play us and we had no answer. They pressed us so we couldn’t play out from the back, and when we went long as a result they invariably regained possession. Boateng mopped everything up in midfield and Mckay had no hope against their tall defenders. We needed a Plan B to keep the ball from goal kicks and throw ins but we failed to have one. As for the goals, I’m a fan of Devine but his wayward pass loosely towards Duffy created the first gift, whilst goodness knows how neither him nor Ridgers took control as they jointly gifted the second. We had some hopes that our fortunes had changed in recent weeks, but tonight was very, very poor. We need a reaction on Saturday or our season is well and truly over. 869 of us gave up our time on a miserable Tuesday and got absolutely no reward. We can’t even blame the weather or the officials. Not good at all.

  8. Spiders out despite win on the night *** Breaking News. Queens Park ejected from Scottish Cup for fielding an ineligible player*** Seventeen days after their Championship no scoring draw at the Caledonian Stadium, Queens Park and Inverness battled it out in the 4th round of the Scottish Cup with a tie away to Livingston the unglamorous reward for the victor. This game was originally scheduled for the 21st of January but a serious dump of snow and frost put paid to that. After a day of heavy showers the game would get underway with the threat of strong winds building from around kick-off. Big news before kick-off was that Simon Murray has joined Ross County and will not be in the Queens Park squad. Scott Allardice and Cammy Harper started for Inverness and Queens had new signing Euan Henderson starting in Murray's absence. And that may yet be their downfall. The rules clearly state that a player has to be signed before the date of the original tie. That was 21st of January. Henderson was only signed on the 27th of January and came on as a sub against Dundee in the Championship the following day. In all honesty Queens Park deserved to go through but as they say, thems the rules. Maybe the Spiders will be caught in their own web of deceit. Queens Park started the liveliest and Stephen Eze fired over after fifteen minutes with Sean Welsh replicating a minute later at the other end. Jay Henderson struck the post from just outside the box as Inverness got up to speed and Cammy Harper tested Ferrie in the visitors goal. New signing Euan Henderson broke clear and brought Mark Ridgers into action and the keeper did well to keep the scores level. Queens shoot on site policy meant Ridgers was the busier keeper and he would deny Henderson again as half time approached followed by a save from Tommy Robson and then Dom Thomas as Queens pressed for the opening goal. Louis Longridge was next up to have a go and Ridgers was there once more to ensure it stayed level at the break with Queens having the better of the first 45. HALF TIME: 0-0 Aaron Doran replaced Cameron Harper at the interval and seven minutes later he passed up a good opportunity as he lost his footing when fed through on goal by Billy Mckay. The two Henderson's had efforts shortly after with Ridgers blocking Euan's with his legs when through on goal before Jay shot over. He would shoot over again after 65 minutes. The dangerous (and ineligible) Euan Henderson was replaced with twenty minutes remaining. Thomas saw Ridgers save his effort and Danny Devine headed just wide after a corner. Thomas would not be denied though and he curled Queens Park in front with an excellent strike from outside the box after a loose pass out of defence was intercepted. Minutes later, Scott Williamson was next to be denied after hitting the post with a header as Queens looked to kill the tie off. Billy Mckay latched onto the ball in the box but Callum Ferrie was equal to it. Mckay then scooped a ball from Welsh over the bar as the game slipped away from Inverness. With five minutes remaining it certainly did just that as Williamson swept home number two after outmuscling Devine. A poor night for the hosts defensively who never really got to grips with the pace of the game. FULL TIME: 0-2 Result pending the outcome of enquiry regarding Queens Park fielding Euan Henderson who was ineligible according to the rules. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Spiders were too good for a sluggish Caley Jags even without Simon Murray. Mark Ridgers was the busier keeper throughout and kept the score down. A really disappointing night in the Highlands as the wind started to get up ended with Queens Park heading for Livingston in the next round unless the fielding of Henderson sees them knocked out of the cup. That's life! Back to the drawing board for Inverness who can now concentrate solely on the league table. More match reaction to follow>>> From BBC Sport Euan Henderson joined on loan from Hearts after the tie was postponed on 21 January, but Scottish FA rules state that only those registered before the initial date are permitted to play. It remains unclear what the punishment might be but it could render this victory, earned with goals by Dom Thomas and Scott Williamson, moot. Queen's Park thought they had set up a tie at Livingston but it may be that the top-flight side will welcome Inverness Caledonian Thistle instead next weekend. Inverness CT head coach Billy Dodds: "Queen's Park had a lot of possession and a few chances. But we had really good chances - if we take the lead then it's a different game. "We made two big errors and lost two bad goals and you are never going to win games if you make those type of errors." Queen's Park manager Owen Coyle: "Inverness are a very good team. I think that's three times we've been up now this season and there's not many teams leave unbeaten over the three games. "Our level of performance was excellent tonight. We scored two very good goals. We thoroughly deserved to win and to move into the next round of the cup." As it stands, this is the draw for the fifth round of the Scottish Cup. However, as we all know now, Euan Hendersons participation might change that. <<<Hmmn, we should know on Friday who will face Livi. *** Breaking News. Queens Park ejected from Scottish Cup for fielding an ineligible player*** Official Statement This means that Inverness will play Livingston next Saturday 11th February in the 5th round of the Scottish Cup. From BBC Sport: Queen's Park president David Hunter said: "An error was made regarding the eligibility of a player who featured in Tuesday night's game with Inverness Caledonian Thistle and we have accepted the SFA's decision. "It is a regrettable mistake. One we will learn from. Our team put on a tremendous display on Tuesday to win the tie and obviously today's result is a hugely disappointing outcome. As upsetting as this matter is, it's vital that we put this behind us quickly, move on and focus on our league campaign." Oh well, another few of these errors and the cup is ours once more. 9. The suggestion from the supporters trust just before Christmas in a meeting with the club was that as part of the West Stand improvements was that the area near the half way line was made into a proper raised and covered area for people in wheelchairs. This way they would actually have a decent view and be properly covered. The club apparently accused them of trying to hijack the improvements and that it will be looked at in a 'future phase'. There have been no improvements made to the stadium in all the years I've been going to games and personally it's not a case of this group v that group but little will be done when the club doesn't communicate, doesn't follow through on this things it says it will do and stonewalls folk at every opportunity.

  10. No doubt that Queens Park should face a punishment, rule was broken so due process now needs to be carried out. It’s more than likely they will forfeit the tie but I’d rather they were fined or a replay ordered. The way things are at the moment we’d probably be on the receiving end of a mightily embarrassing humping by Livi, that wouldn’t do anything to help morale and could make things even worse. Once upon a time I’d have loved the chance to dump Livi out of the cup but now I’d much rather have a decent performance and 3 points on Saturday.

  11. Shows how bad we are under Dodds when there seems to be an escape route to stay in the cup and lots of supporters just want Queens Park to stay in it instead ! . Would just be another dismal performance no doubt with the same Old dribble of excuses coming out of his gob . Actually it would be embarrassing to get a pass to the next round by default. Not that this is a big game in the next round with big revenue either. Dodds and his circus out and sooner the better for all concerned.

  12. I think this is the worst part of it all really. I can't make midweek games anymore up at TCS but from those I know who were there it was pretty dreadful stuff and we were played off the park. The BBC stats (pinch of salt etc) certainly seem to agree with that. We used to be a real Scottish Cup team to fear. Now we seem to surrender meekly and it's a sad sight.

  13. I thought the young team had to raise the £25,000 themselves?

  14. Maybe get them all a bus shelter to huddle under....the same as fans in wheelchairs are made to do

  15. That is an extremely fair assessment but we have had little luck this season. We currently would have a free weekend during the next round so game time against a team we caught cold in the League Cup would be no bad thing. In addition being awarded a 3-0 win against Queens would keep our unbeaten run in 2023 intact. All of this would provide significant motivation to play well this Saturday. Owen Coyle has been a manager both here and in England to know selection rules.

  16. Says a lot about us right now that our best chance of winning games is for the opposition to make administrative errors.

  19. Come on now. Look at how much communication has improved. Also I'm certain the the roof on the west stand is getting really close to being built. Remember that it just wasn't possible earlier because of the concerts.

  20. Who cares about the west stand roof? Honestly if the club spend any of their money on that it will be an absolute waste. Fair enough if it gets fundraised but that shouldn’t be a priority.
