  1. Draws would also be of benefit! Anyway, Yesterday once again was refreshing and walking away after the final whistle it was great to see the players being applauded and they did the same! a real feeling of togetherness. There will be slips ahead but the players have a confidence which was not there most of last and the start of this season.

  6. Stay free of main injuries to key players (down the centre line), don’t have Aberdeen pulling back Alfie B (can they do this at anytime?), don’t pick up too many red cards, have luck when we need it; Sixth for me, but more likely seventh. Be delighted if we get into the playoffs and be proved wrong. But if I would pick any position over them all right now I would be happy with Eighth. bc

  7. Another big 3 points. Musa has been incredible for us. I worry Aberdeen will recall Alfie Bavidge with his current scoring prowess

  8. Good entertaining game and certainly worth the trip to Inverness. In comparison with QoS, what we lacked in physical presence we made up for with skill and teamwork. I'm not one to criticise referees, so I won't! Edge of the seat stuff and Remi Savage my MoM, just edging it ahead of Bavidge. Just one thing though, and I hate to sound negative, but what happened to all the home-grown talent we were supposed to be fielding this season?

  9. The other sides view by the manager. I always rated big tel for praising the other side if they beat us. Leave you guys and gals to decide this dudes take on the game. I couldn’t have been at the same game as him yesterday. That’s as polite as I can put it. lump the ball long. Yellow cards for non tackles. our goal was a miss hit, their chance the player hit it too good. Wow. should have stopped the interview when the lights went out.

  10. I absolutely see what you are saying, it was just that I was really hoping that we would have moved out of the relegation zone today. But I can see why we need to keep the teams above us as close as possible too.It was still a great win.

  11. That’s a very important point DD. It becomes more difficult to catch a lot of teams above you because these points have to go somewhere, so it’s a trade off between welcoming Annan and Dumbarton beating teams ICT might still catch and accepting the squeaky bum you get as a result of not pulling away from these two to an extent that gives more complete confidence about avoiding relegation or the playoffs.

  12. Musa must have hands like shovels going by the one handed catch he managed at full stretch today.

  13. Revenge is Sweet Inverness gained revenge for a 3-2 defeat eleven days ago at Palmerston when Alfie Bavidge struck his fourth goal in five games with a neat finish from the left side of the penalty box after being fed through by Paul Allan following good work by the returning Luis Longstaff. It was a tight game against a robust Doonhamers side with on form Adam Brooks looking lively for Queens early on before the game settled down. Good pace and power from Bavidge to get on the end of the ball and slip it past keeper Ross Stewart. A slow burner of a second half with chances at a premium. There was a flurry of activity around Stewart before and after Brydon was sent off for persistent fouling and a second yellow card. Stewart made a couple of super saves late in the game as the hosts threatened to increase their advantage and he was in the right place to deny a slick flick from Longstaff when he met a cross from the right. An ultimately deserved win over a Queens side who adopted a 'they shall not pass at any cost' attitude throughout the game and no surprise they ended up with ten men. Unfortunately for us Annan pulled off a great win at Kelty but Montrose are now a target for the bottom three to aim at. Special mention for Michael Hewitt who managed to get play stopped for a head injury when we had possession but made a miraculous recovery to play a blinder for the remainder of the game.............. starting seconds later. The result was greater than the performance and we dug deep to get this win against an over enthusiastic Queens side who were prepared to use underhand tactics to try and derail our admin train. Great finish from Alfie Bavidge which won the points. Luis Longstaff was a popular choice for MotM after returning from injury. Chances were at a premium throughout the game. Dibaga blocked an early effort from Jordan Allan after twenty minutes before Bavidge struck. In the second half Alfie Stewart had an effort from twenty-five yards clawed away from the top corner and Longstaff was unlucky as he flicked towards goal from a front post ball in by Alfie B. Late in the game keeper Stewart kept out a prod forward from Paul Allan with an outstretched arm after good work down the left flank involving Billy Mckay sending Longstaff down the wing to cross to Allan. Like us eleven days ago, it's a long way home when there's no points in the bag... 14. What the f***k was going on with QOS they were not interested in playing football at all. Tried to intimidate the young guys at every opportunity, with a weak accomplice of a referee. The cart horse no 11 was one or the worst culprits, who was just embarrassingly bad at football. Positives for us, was we stuck at it and never got sucked down to there level All good ,but special mention to Gilmour and Savage who never missed a challenge all day.

  15. Great to see the benefits of having a confident and capable goal scorer in the team. Unfortunately unless we are in the Championship next season it's unlikely he will be back on loan with us.

  16. Great win today. QOS were a pretty physical side but everyone worked hard and supported each other. Longstaff put in a brilliant shift given that he was just returning from injury. We didn't have too many attempts on goal, but at times later in the 2nd half, we played some nice intricate build up play which didn't quite come off. Both defences played well giving opponents little time on the ball. The referee was awful. Great support from the youngsters in section C which the players really appreciated.

  17. That’s fair enough if you’re aiming at 8th place. If you’re aiming higher, Montrose lost on to Gayfield next week…

  18. ‘To be honest, it's difficult to see why anyone would want to buy a small, lowly Scottish league club miles from most places, which can't possibly sustain itself through football income alone’ ‘hasn't Savage talked about him leading a consortium being a way forward?’ Well said snorbens. Your first point is the question that we (the club and the fans), have IMO been tumbling over for the past decade or more as we try to understand the club’s true and real position in the Scottish football whilst dealing with the expectations of the fans, City and region giving the limitations in the arena we / they operate. As has been well documented in CTO and other outlets we have insufficient fan numbers to make the football operation viable. That’s unlikely to change as simply the population in the Highlands is too small to support two teams. Throw in competition from the old firm and other more comfortable alternatives (cinema, gaming), it’s hard to see where the numbers we need would come from. The clubs rise and achievements over the past 30 compete admirably with other comparable provincial teams. But there has also been a slow steady decline with neglect and overspending our reach resulting in where we currently are. As you (and others) rightly point out we need the new owners (being positive they materialise), to look at a different model for financing the operations. To your point 2, Alan Savage has no question about it, saved the club from going under IMO. I question whether ICTFC would have had any proper future if K Mahwana had succeeded in buying the club with SG still around. I do hope AS is part (steers) any consortium or group that takes over for a couple of years. He has the club at heart I’m sure and has invested heavily (1M by the time we’re out of Admin?), to let the club travel down the same error strewn road. It may be there will be some significant changes for the club and fans that we have to accept as part of any new regime. Just wish him good health! bc
