  1. This is a much needed dose of reality. Even by the less than scientific method of "my gut feeling" I would predict us reeling in Annan and probably Montrose, in the (only) 13 games that are left. Anything else is a bonus. We're inclined to get carried away after a couple of good results anyway, then get brought down to earth. Arbroath have made some quality signings and Saturday will be a stiff test that'll show how far we've come. (Against that, Stenny are top and yet we murdered them the other week. We also have 10 wins which only the top 3 have matched)

  2. I think this is a great post. We might be in great form and that could continue, but we would be expecting a lot of teams to just fall apart. I think we need to concentrate on just catching what’s in front of us. I would take 8th this season. Anything higher will be a very pleasant surprise after what we have went through.

  3. It’s not impossible but would require our form to improve and/or several teams above us to all get worse. This is pretty simplistic I know but if every team keeps racking up the same points per game as they have done so far, you end up with Kelty, Queens and Alloa bunched together for 4th, 5th and 6th on 51, 50 and 50 points. We would be some way back but safely in 7th place on 43. If I refine this by factoring in our improvement since Kellacher took over and assume we continue with Kellacher’s 1.92 points per game rather than our season to date average of 1.6, we still only get to 47 points, so still 7th and 4 points off 4th spot. If however we win all our remaining games, we get to 61 points which will not just get us into the playoffs but could actually be enough to win the league!

  4. "I think I was really unfortunate I lost my job through administration" Really? I think you were lucky you lost it that way ... at least you don't have a performance related sacking on your record which you would undoubtedly have had, or should have had, had you not been let go in the first 5 minutes of administration. SK has shown what can be done with the bare bones of the same squad when tactics and training are applied by an actual manager.

  6. The Supporters Trust is delighted to announce that, starting from the Cove game on 28 December, additional bus journeys will be operating to and from the stadium on matchdays, following positive discussions between the Supporters Trust, Stagecoach and the club. Full details are in the statement below, but the additional journeys will enable fans to spend time in Bar 94 before and after the game. For 3 pm kick offs, journeys will leave the Bus Station at 1 pm and 2.15 pm, returning from the ground 10 minutes after the final whistle and then at 6 pm. The additional journeys will also be ideal for anyone attending hospitality. Stagecoach will also be donating fares revenue from the matchday service on 28 December to the Supporters Trust, and we are very grateful to them for the new journeys and the kind donation. We hope that the matchday journeys will be useful to many fans. You can read the full statement here: https://www.ictsupporterstrust.org/post/improved-matchday-bus-service

  7. In many respects we got off lightly, retaining the strongest available core for the rest of the season. I can't see Bray doing anything other than his best over the next months with his future assured. Obvs at some stage Davidson will also be back....is it me or has the unfortunate Charlie Reilly quietly left th club [he is no longer on the clubs squad page...loan finished?]. 4 challenges over the next 6 months Avoid relegation, possibly get into play-offs, exit administration, have a decent squad for next season...simples

  8. With the Stenhousemuir game on 15 February being an early kick off at 2 pm, the matchday buses will also operate an hour earlier: Leave Bus Station: 12 noon and 1 15 pm. Leave Stadium: 10 minutes after the full time whistle and 5 pm.

  9. Dunfermline won’t see themselves as a bottom half championship side, as we don’t see ourselves as a league 1 team, hence the sacking of mcpake on 23rd December and putting tidser from kelty in charge 17th January. He has obviously come across bray a couple of times this season, likes what he has seen, but not enough to make him a squad player just now, hence we keep him to the end of the season. interested to hear kellacher take on the move, some managers are not keen on playing players who have signed pre contracts to leave for another club. i know this isn’t pre contract but the player is in the same situation, seeing out the season. anyway hope it works out well for the lad.

  10. Well said @Scotty IMHO he should never have been appointed in the first place. His shocking record at ICT should definitely be on his record / CV. As for his lad, I never saw him play, but maybe he'll find in feet in Wales. Not doubt we'll soon find out. His scoring record doesn't set the world on fire that's for sure.

  11. A reality check! Any money or offers will be considered. Gutted but just illustrates where we are at moment.

  12. Bottom line is we should be aiming for 4th and, injuries permitting, I think we have a fair chance of achieving this objective. On a separate note it was my first post-match visit to Bar 94 on Saturday as my 6 year old nephew was after autographs and photos with the players. To a man they were accommodating, enthusiastic and very pleasant towards both myself and the little fella. It's a great initiative and a huge thank you to all the players for their time on Saturday.

  13. Interesting interviews from the 2 managers. I don't know what game Murphy was watching but his interview was sh*te from start to finish. It is pretty disrespectful too, but it is such nonsense that instead of feeling annoyed or angry, one can't help laughing. Scott has it absolutely spot on though. A very honest, objective and intelligent take on the game.

  14. It’s good to see Ferguson junior land a team. Hopefully without the pressure of being with a team managed by his father lets him find his way in life and the game.

  17. I’ve seen a message that Cameron Ferguson has been made redundant, which is not a surprise. He should never have been brought into the club in the first place, given his father was Manager. If it’s true, he goes with my best wishes and I hope he can establish himself through getting a fresh start somewhere.
