  1. Oh dear god, it's hard to think of how that could have been more excruciating. We were hopeless - chalk and cheese from Tannadice They were hopeless - after Imrie's wonder goal Hamilton basically bullied us out of it - and, as always, time-wasted to death I've seen paint dry in less time than it takes them to take a goal kick. The ref was hopeless - every time the ball was in the air, there centre-halfs gave Rooney and co a shove in the back. And how he missed someone tugging Munro's shorts down in the box is beyond me - we could see it at the halfway line. He gave Cerny a talking-yo about time wasting with 20 minutes left...and then let him take an age over a further EIGHT goal kicks. And it was a terrible, terrible game, a midfield scrap which we lost. Just not enough muscle in the midfield - Cox and Duncan were overrun and poor Nick Ross kept bouncing off "bigger boys", like a 9 year old playing against a bunch of teenagers. Rooney had zero service for most of the game. And what the heck was going on at the back? The number of times Munro got beaten in the air (mainly by misjudging its flight) was appalling - particularly as he had a height advantage on their forwards. Proctor also had a total mare after going to right back - his touch and passing were simply woeful. I hate Hamilton and that prat Reid so, so much. Which makes today's lousy performance and result really hard to take.

  2. However he is no longer in an ICT shirt, and didn't show us any respect so don't see why he should get shown any. Hate him with a passion.

  3. At times I've seen him and he was quite good. Today though he was not good enough, and I wouldn't start him next time.

  4. MoM was a very strange selection today. It must have been Rooney's father, mother or brother who paid fot the dubious honour of making such a mistake in selecting MoM! Poor Rooney was not able to win one ball in the air in the first half and really did not improve much in the second half. He was not alone in his poor play and only Ross stood out amongst the forwards as trying and having some success. Having won five corners on the trot within 15 minutes he was substituted - a very strange decision unless he was injured. Grant Munro grafted at the back but we lost the whole game in the first minute! neksor

  5. I couldnt believe how long he lasted he should have been hooked at half time. I'm sorry he can either go to the gym and bulk up or he can **** off cos he will not make at a high level if he gets outmuscled as easily as he does currently. I for one would give Shinnie (a natural left sided player) who has more pace and is stronger should be given chance.

  7. Yes Accies time wasted, yes they feigned injury but the biggest disappointment was ICT. We were toothless. Absolutely toothless. Monstrous goal from Imrie after about 40 seconds. No keeper was saving that although I would like to have seen him closed down before getting the shot away. He was given too much time and space. After that Accies defended and defended in numbers as you would expect and we couldn't open them up. We appeared to run out of ideas pretty quickly and I can't think of a clear cut chance that we created in the first half. In the second we threw everything at Hamilton but again failed to carve out a real goal scoring opportunity. Rooney placed a shot wide after turning his man (he was given as offside but I really don't think he was not that it made much difference) and Nick Ross fizzed a ball across goal with no one racing in to put it away. And that was as close as we got. Rooney looked to have a good claim for a penalty waved away. Hamilton looked dangerous on the break and Hasslebank could trouble defences with his pace. A few players looked well off the pace. Proctor looked ridiculously shaky at RB and Rooney got no change out of Mensing. We all saw from the first 5 minutes that he (Mensing) was winning all the headers against Rooney so why not try and change things around? It all seemed a bit odd. Both Tokely and Munro were troubled by Hasslebanks pace and my heart was in my mouth when he went to ground in a tangle with Tokely. I had flashbacks to the game against Falkirk. Just a bad day at the office for everyone really. No one seemed to be on the same wavelength. A hugely frustrating afternoon. Hamilton seem to have the "Aberdeen Voodoo Sign" over us these days. These are the games we should be looking at winning and given the build up to the game with Accies injury issues you had to think that it would be our time to finally beat Hamilton in the SPL but ICT never seem to do well when they are favourites and today continued that trend.

  8. What an absolutely ridiculous post. Did you read that before you hit the post button?

  9. I think Imrie has a lot of affection for the players and backroom staff at ICT but not for the handful of our so called support who abused him. Personally, I was sad to see him go although some of his behaviour clearly leaves a lot to be desired. But if you don't like a particular player for some reason don't boo him when he's on the ball. By all means jeer and laugh when he makes errors but we all know that booing only serves to motivate players to silence the boo boys. Just because you may think Imrie's a wee nerd doesn't mean you have to behave like a nerd yourself. When Imrie got the ball in midfield in the first minute he was going nowhere. Then a small number of morons boo'd him. Immediatelty you could see the anger and determination in him as if to say "I'll ****ing show you". He did - and how! The goal gave huge encouragement to Hamilton and drained the confidence of our players. Would he have scored had he not been boo'd? Maybe, maybe not - but what I am sure of is that booing him made it more likely he would shoot - and shoot with venom. I hope those who boo'd him are proud of their contribution to our defeat today.

  10. Aye, take a bow Dougie, fantastic goal today. It is annoying but shit happens...............................still what a way to shut the boo boys up.

  11. I see the debate about Nick Ross as two fold. Firstly......as it stands...i would agree...he isnt up to the job atm. He is too easily put off the ball etc etc On the other hand....he is only young and has got time in his favour to develop, hopefully into a good player. Butchers hand has been forced and he needs to play him, due to the lack of cover in the squad. So, we are just going to need to muddle thro with him until things improve.

  12. i thought he was one of our better players today however the OP raises a very good point. He is far too lightweight and seriously needs to strengthen up to be able to compete against SPL full backs.

  13. Dougie was in the paper today talking about the game and had nothing but praise for us, He also said that he was planning to stay over after the game with Johnny Hayes unfortunately johnny is going to WESTLIFE and he doesn't fancy it. Like others whenever I met him he was polite and friendly even when i met him in The Yard a couple of times - No booing from me

  16. Imrie made a positive contribution to ICT in his 73 appearances for us and had at least a small part in last season's success. Regardless of what you think of him personally, or of any of his alleged off the field antics, you have to respect that. Having said that, in my eyes, he does not fall into the same category as players I will always revere even though they went elsewhere (and in some cases came back later) like Wyness, Mann, Wilson, Dods, Black, Brown etc. so I would not be rushing to give him a super warm welcome !

  17. Is it just me and a very select few on CTO who think nick ross is utter p***? He was horrible today, he is too slow and weak for this league i think he should hit the gym a lot more. I think if foran doesn't return i would like to see either shinnie or mcbain to be given a run.

  19. esson - not too sure if the goal was his fault other than that did fine 5/10 mccann - didnt do much when he was on 3/10 proc - headers were quite poor thought he was better at centre back4/10 munro - did better than proc but stil only 5/10 gillet - best defender today 6/10 cox - pretty awful i think he only won 2 tackles 3/10 pedz - he was bad but better than cox 4/10 hayes - he was probably the best on the park... for us 6.5/10 eric - he and hayes were the 2 main contenders for MOM 6.5/10 ross - was the worst on the park i cant wait till foran is back ross was ******* **** rooney - didnt get much of the ball and was alright when he did 5/10 subs: rossco - was better than proc did well up front 5/10 Sutherland - he was very good unlucky not to get a penalty (if foran isnt back for the next game i hope he starts in his position) 5/10 ps - i couldnt give a **** if you dont agree with me at all im am totally pissed off right now

  22. I know it's a bit late for this thread, but I only just noticed the reason that we won at less than a canter. Look at the back page of this weeks highland news if you will, and the large photo's caption states that Adam Rooney (it is he) is in the act of scoring. Past Gary Kenneth. That's not Garry Kenneth, that's PHIL MITCHELL! We all know he can't play football at all. But then neither can Gary Kenneth, now which one's the crack head? We should be told.

  25. And get a suspension for a few games - that would be clever. How Dougie will laugh if he logs on and reads such stupid comments. As if he hasn't got enough to laugh about already.

  26. As it may be the case that Foran, McCann, Proctor, Tokely, Blumenshtein, Sanchez and Innes are out, I'd go with - Esson Cox Munro Gillet Golabek Odhiambo Morrison Duncan Hayes Rooney Sutherland Subs - Tuffey, McBain, , Ross, Shinnie Couldn't name seven subs!

  27. Totally agree.... In fact I'd go as far as to suggest Ross was our best player today. Hayes looked completely fecked by about halfway through the second half. I couldn't believe the substitution. AS you can expect i was ever grateful for the sub and i thought shane was very good when he came on and he should have been awarded a penalty

    • Inverness CT 2-3 (3-5) Hamilton - Play off final (relegation)
RELEGATED: Despite Inverness needing to get off the mark quickly, it was Accies that killed the tie inside the first fifteen minutes with strikes from Kevin O'Hara and Lewis Smith. Cammy Kerr reduced the leeway with a good strike from distance, but O'Hara struck again with a penalty before the break to diffuse the revival. We struggled to create anything of note and this reporter could not stomach any more and left the stadium. I'm told Alex Samuel pulled a goal back in stoppage time, but like the rest of the season it was too little too late.

    • Hamilton 2-1 Inverness CT - Play off final 1st Leg
A better showing from Inverness in the second half, especially with Lawal and Pepple on the park but it's Hamilton that take a one goal advantage up the A9 on Saturday. Lawal has been the standout performer in our last few games and surely he must start on Saturday. Pepple also did well, scored the goal, had an effort saved and got in a few balls across the box from tight positions.

Still, a shocker of a first half and we must be up for it from the start on Saturday.

    • Inverness CT (1-2) Hamilton - Play off Final 2nd Leg - Preview
The hurt, the pain, the reluctance and pig-headedness to listen to the fans asking what is going on, the lack of communication, the lack of ambition, the stench of mismanagement, the concert company, the battery farm, the demise since winning the Scottish Cup in 2015, the lack of passion, the lack of commitment, the dwindling fanbase, the lack of leadership. It has left the fans comfortably numb

    • Hamilton -V- Inverness CT - Play off Final 1st Leg - Preview
However all is not well and we just kept our heads above water thanks to Arbroath being rubbish. Onto the play offs and an insipid performance at Links Park left us all wondering if our time has come to drop into oblivion. Our performance certainly would not look out of place in the lower leagues. We clung on for a 0-0 draw away from home and scraped a 1-0 win at Inverness with Billy Mckay saving our blushes. Everything about the club has negative undertones at the moment.

    • Inverness CT 1-0 Montrose Play-Off Second Leg (0-0)
Little Consolation: Inverness will face Hamilton Accies in the Play-Off final after nervously scraping past part-time Montrose who were eventually reduced to ten men when Blair Lyons was sent off after an off the ball incident in the 84th minute involving Morgan Boyes. Inverness had dominated throughout, but failed to capitalise on their possession, and as per the entire season failed to create much of note. The first half was livlier than the first leg, but the same problems showed up our lack of quality. We started with no wingers and Billy Mckay as usual in a withdrawn role. It's not worked all season, so why should it suddenly work now. A woeful first half ended goalless and it was on the hour and out of the blue when Billy Mckay prodded in from three yards to score the only goal of the game following a corner
