As a Killie fan please accept my deepest sympathy to the Caley fan who sadly passed away at Rugby Park today, the game and result are irrelevant when things like this happen12 points

Not quite sure what I need to elaborate on? We (ICTFC) are an absolute joke (not very good at football). It's pretty self-explanitory. On a side note, not only are we an absolute joke on the field but we are a joke off it as well. The management team is a joke, the "coaching" is a joke, the Board of Directors are a joke. Just cause we get beat, everyone in the club is a joke. Can't see the logic behind that one. On a side note, not only are we an absolute joke on the field but we are a joke off it as well. The management team is a joke, the "coaching" is a joke, the Board of Directors are a joke.] No Jay, you are the joke. It's no disgrace to lose 4-3 to a side who are pretty much on a par with us, and who have won a cup this year against the runaway league leaders. To have run it close when we are down to 10 men isn't a joke either. You are entitled to your (as far as I can see) jaundiced view about the management team, but I fail to see how you can rubbish the Board in the same sentence (the same board who are trying to get funding to improve this side) Face facts here; we are probably about the tenth best supported side in Scotland. We live in an area that finds it difficult to attract talent and we have probably the smallest budget in the SPL. Our local patch for finding football talent is limited to say the least. And yet, for failing to live up to your unstated expectations, we are a joke. Were you at the game today? Were you shouting your head off about what you see wrong with this club to those that you blame? Were you going ballistic when we scored? Thought not. Tell you what, get off your arse and support this team on wednesday and next week, and bring Smee and the rest of these never pleased/ never will be pleased moaners with you. No excuses, no whining, just do it. Then I might just have some respect for your point of view, however condescending, twattish and juvenile you might seem when you put it across. And if you can't, you lost whatever moral authority you might have deluded yourself that you have and you can look forward to choruses of telling you to quite simply shut it. And, for what it's worth, I hate when we lose.4 points

Best, beating Clyde the week before winning the 1st div cup, I felt a real sense of belonging and togetherness, as so many fans had turned up at Broadwood to egg on their team and it worked. Worst day had to be getting relegated.2 points

A really sad and tragic end to a lovely afternoon in Ayrshire which started being all about a football match. Very distressing. I had an awful feeling before the stewards moved us to the lower section that things were not looking good for the gentleman. Deepest and heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.1 point

Just back into Aberdeen but I don't care enough about the game to post anything about it just now. What happened today was an absolute tragedy. As soon as we saw the lad go over we started screaming for help as it was clear something bad had happened. Sadly the help he received wasn't enough. Completely heart breaking to watch it all unfold before your eyes and of course it will only be worse for his, I assume partner, who was at the game with him. Thoughts are with family and friends at this difficult time.1 point

My condolences and thoughts go to the mans family. I was at the game and feared the worst at the time but didn't want to post anything on here in case the family hadn't been informed. I had really enjoyed the match today but the game and result pales into insignificance and makes you appreciate the important things in life.1 point

Shame to hear about the collapse at the game today, best wishes and thoughts to those involved. Regarding the game, is anyone surprised with todays result? Is anyone surprised with the strange tactics? Does anyone now see that Butcher is useless?1 point

Good. I really can't tell if this is a serious post or not? If you genuinely think that I've posted that because some no-mark backwater pish from down south have beaten us then you are very much mistaken.1 point

No question for whatsoever for me that the famous night of ballisticism was the greatest moment for ICT, because unlike other great highlights mentioned, it was so unexpected and it rocked Scottish football. Arguably the greatest moment of my life too, but don't tell the missus I said that. Worst moment was again in the cup v Celtic, when just a few minutes away from knocking them out for the 3rd time in a few years, it all fell apart horribly. Me and Mantis just sat in stunned silence for the journey back down the A9.1 point

I pity the fools respect the brave souls who are travelling so far to cheer the team at a time when the team is giving us so little to cheer about. Hopefully the journey long home will eased by confirmation that relegation has officially been avoided. Nae wonder people don't bother. as my mum used to say "if you've nothing good to say, it's good to say nothing" In your case, rather more than good.1 point

I'm gonna go with Doofer. Worst - Full time whistle against Falkirk was the most heart wrenching moment of my young life as a footy fan. Best - I loved getting promoted in 2004 but the way we got back up in 2010 was simply brilliant and for me is an achievment that will struggle to be matched by anyone for years to come.1 point

That's my best moment too. 1 on 1 with Hutchison about 20 - 25 yards from goaI and instead of the usual trying to round the keeper he just chips the ball about 20 feet over his outstretched arms straight in to the back of the net. I had that goal on VHS and will look to see if I still have it. If so it'll be appearing on YouTube in the near future along with some other forgotten gems!1 point

BEST = Winning the 3rd Division. First league title and a fantastic season. Four wins over County. Great players such as Barry Wilson, Ian Stewart, Jim Calder, Paul Cherry. Moved to the Caldeonian Stadium in the same season. There was real excitement and optmism. So my best moment was probably from that season. The goal Ian Stewart scored to clinch the 2-0 home game against County. Wilson collected the ball deep into own half, ran a good 40 yards, crossed across field to Stewart who chipped Steve Hutchison from outside the box. Perfect. WORST = Steve Paterson leaving the club.1 point

My worry would be that some potentially good local/Scottish players are not getting the chance with instead, mediocre foreigners are taking their places.1 point

Absolutely nothing to lose here. Give youth and those committed to next season a chance to flourish. Nothing to gain by providing any sort of platform for those departing. If TB does this he has my full support irrespective of the result. Oh..........a Scotsman would be nice.1 point

Inverness CT 1-0 Montrose Play-Off Second Leg (0-0)
tm4tj posted an article in Reports 2023-24,
Little Consolation: Inverness will face Hamilton Accies in the Play-Off final after nervously scraping past part-time Montrose who were eventually reduced to ten men when Blair Lyons was sent off after an off the ball incident in the 84th minute involving Morgan Boyes. Inverness had dominated throughout, but failed to capitalise on their possession, and as per the entire season failed to create much of note. The first half was livlier than the first leg, but the same problems showed up our lack of quality. We started with no wingers and Billy Mckay as usual in a withdrawn role. It's not worked all season, so why should it suddenly work now. A woeful first half ended goalless and it was on the hour and out of the blue when Billy Mckay prodded in from three yards to score the only goal of the game following a corner-

Inverness CT -V- Montrose - Second Leg (0-0)
tm4tj posted an article in Previews 2023-24,
As much as we have criticised the Caley Jags performance on Tuesday night, let's not lose sight of the fact that Montrose are a decent League 1 side with a good blend of experience and talented prospects. For our part, let's keep them as a good League 1 side and that means no room for faffing about. Time has run out now, there's no hiding places and no room for shirkers. Ditch the sideways passing or put goal posts in front of the Main Stand and tuck shops.-

Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
tm4tj posted an article in Reports 2023-24,
FULL TIME: 0-0
All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...
However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.
Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.
Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.

Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
tm4tj posted an article in Reports 2023-24,
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

Inverness CT -V- Morton - Preview
tm4tj posted an article in Previews 2023-24,
Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L W W L D
