  1. To the person's who boo'd ICT player today you should be ashamed of yourselves ! A total disgrace & uncalled for ! What do you think that will do for a,players confidence ? ... Well done to the TRUE FANS who stood up & shut them down ,

  2. When Terry was asked in an interview how to pronounce the name of his new signing, he replied "Jonesy".

  3. Thought it was poor from the boy who booed Roberts, obviously felt he knew more about Roberts footballing ability than Arsène Wenger, Terry Butcher and me! three recognised expert in that field. Roberts is only 18 I think and I'm guessing from way south of the border, Inverness must have seemed like the other side of the world, How many of us would have settled quickly in London at 18 and been successful immediately. I know booing can be part of football, but surely not booing you're own without very good reason. It smacked to me of bullying on Saturday verbally attacking Roberts when he had no comeback. I was incensed by the action of that paying customer and immediately got to my feet to tell him to get up the other end with the away support and he did seem a bit taken aback at the reaction of me and other fans to his stupidity. But please when discussing this gentleman refrain from describing him as fat, overweight, chubby, obese, bit of a porker, lard a**, tubby, big boned, or bunteresqe as these terms could also be construed as verbal bullying. He was also a bit of a ginger (like me) glad no-one mentioned that., I could also do with loosing a few pounds. Any way onwards and upwards 2nd spot is fantastic this could be our best season ever. Get behind the team and lets get behind Roberts

  4. The questions you pose are all valid in their own right to a certain extent I will concede that.Do remember though we are virtually the poor relation in the league. We do not have the luxory of having game changing players available to switch tactics so easily as some. We are predictable yes but it is a system where all our players can adapt to and fit in to the scheme of things. As I said before we still get in to the scoring positions ripping defences apart with this system all we need are strikers that are brim full of confidence to put these chances away. Yes I was surprised at first at the choice of your little Rastamouse coming on but on reflection I thought about the mess he made of Celtic in the last match so imo it was a very fair gamble. We haven't seen Pepper for some time T& M have so I go by their judgement rather than my own. What I do bow down to is the matter of Shane I do grant you that wholeheartedly. Incidentally my frustrations arise at negative attitudes and booing not the team performance. Love your last line, thumbs up to that. I go for two wins in a row. Raise you five, your call.

  5. where do you sit, i am in the north stand and not for the 1st time could not understand a word the announcer says. two mates with me yesterday asked me "what is that guy saying " when he was reading out the teams, " WHO scored that ?" when announcing the cellic goals. part of the match day experience !!!!!!!!! must be where i sit ???? I also sit in the north stand. Don't think you can blame the announcer for the PA system. I believe they are Lookimg for folk to give announcing a try so why not volunteer. i know my limitations so would not entertain it. why would i, even if i thought i could, if as you say the PA system is at fault.

  7. Ok, time to calm doon a wee bit. Just as we shouldn't have gone ott when we were winning or drawing most games, we shouldn't get too stressed when we hit our bad patch. I don't think the defeats lately were down to tactics but individual errors. I hear Terry and Mo shouting at players every week to do the basics and this causes us to lose goals at times but that's nothing new. Our squad is at a certain level (bottom 4) but our first 11 are a potential top 6 team. How you can change things depends on the players you have available. Let's enjoy the ride guys, think back to 3 games in this season and what you would have been happy with and be realistic in your expectations. Finishing top 8 would be incredible given our squad. I am loving this season and although we have 9 games to go others have less. No Celtic to play, no cups to play in we can do it but, quite frankly, would be an over achievement if we did so.

  9. I disagree that Celtic team yesterday was guff and we all know it - Stokes, Miku, Rogic, Gershon they are all poor compared to Hooper, Wanyama, Brown, Forrest etc - as I posted elsewhere I'm glad NL never started with Watt. As for the boo's, I never noticed tham but suspect the player that they were directed at. Now I disagree with the boo'ing of a player but the lack of effort IMO when on the pitch was worthy of it, if he was boo'd entering the picth based on the cup history then thats unacceptable. When you see a team of players bursting to get back in a game, the last thing you expect is a player to be casually strolling around the park expecting the ball to be played to him compared to other forward players who on several occaions were defending open play back at the 18 yard line.

  10. Funnily enough I was going to start a thread on this! As the way it is written is nothing like how it's pronunciation. The correct pronunciation is O-Ine Tid-Ear Jones, with an emphasis on the "Ear" part. I've had a Welsh person teach me to say it!

  11. You only get clinical finishing when you get a final ball of quality - there is no use in looking pretty but not scoring. The system worked fer 15 minutes and then Lennon changed the shape and approach of his team. He changed the Cellic system 3 or 4 times during the game. That is what I am going on about - we dont have a Plan B far less a Plan C or D. We have become wholly predictable. And I have watched three of the last 4 games and in all three the opposition have changed their systems to combat ours and we have not done likewise. Are you telling me that you were not surprised that we stuck to the same system during the game - are you telling me that you were not surprised that we sat deeper after we scored - are you telling me that you were not surprised that Roberts was the first choice substitute and put in a wide role - are you telling me that you were not surprised that we didnt put another sub on until the last few minutes and that it would be Shane being put in to a wide position ? I admire yer confidence though and I again agree that we have the players and both the attack and the defence issues could be resolved but I am not sure if T&M have the nonce to do that. As fer poker - we are holding a good hand and we are still got more chips than many of the others. But that is when you "bluff" or you suss what the others are holding. I am worried that it has become clear to the other players what we are holding. And there again - a win versus Killie, a draw at muvversmell and a win down the Gorgie Road - and who knows. We have the technology but will we use it ?

  12. Surprised you say that as I thought Doran was terrific today. Shattered at the end but he plays like a winger, trying to get the ball down and into the corner for a cross. Hayes is much more direct, which is probably why we were more long ball last year.

  13. Some people need reminding that ICT have been a revelation this season, they have played magnificently and so has the management. Still second in the league they have made a lot of people sit up and take notice. Rome wasn't built in a day neither is a football team, this side have been and still are on a learning curve that was obvious today by the nervousness in the front line and the many chances missed. They out played Celtic in many spells in the game and only apprehension stopped them from giving Celtic a real hiding, this can and will be overcome as the season progresses I feel certain of that. Just take a long look at the excellent football they were playing, it has got better and better each match. I for one was proud of the whole team, management again included. So we don't have our local lads playing all the time but come on, we are very much a premier league side striving for the top six and even the chance of playing in Europe so we need to fit the right blend into the side, not at all an easy task but one that is being undertaken by TB in a very professional and yes successfull way. We have lost some very important games, yes, disappointing yes but the rest of the season is equally important and ICT can recover from the results of these last few games and get back the winning form of the first half of the season. As for the boo boys all I can say is they haven't got the inteligence of brain damaged rats and know little about football. An angry bughtmaster

  14. Like many dissapointed not to have taken a result today. For large chunks of the game we dominated posession but just couldnt turn into goals, Celtic on the other hand were clinical with their chances, apart from picking the ball out of his net Esson didnt really have a great deal to do. Foran was missed today. Aerially, defensively and as a team leader. Doran and Raven got some great crosses into the area but there was no one at the back post and they were easily dealt with, same problem with set pieces. Cant help but think McGeouch would have been marked tighter by Foran as well, he was given too much time on the ball and i think just as an overall presence on the pitch he was missed. There were some positives from the game. Thought Doran was acceptional and he certainly gave his best as did both Shinnies (even though Andy was about 30% fit) and Nick Ross who im glad to see back. Took his goal well and showed one or two moments of promise. Back to back defeats is a bit of a concern but we havent looked bad in the games we have played. Just need to get back to our clinical ways. Hopefully starting next Wednesday. Also agree with the criticism on Thomson. Some of his decisions were baffling today. Blatant bookings ignored, penalty shouts ignored and stopping play for Beram Kayal was ridiculous. There was nothing wrong with him.

  15. Agree with the above about the Ref. Craig Thomson was abysmal. Definitely missed Foran today but i thought Draper and Doran were excellent.

  16. Unfortunately the said player would maybe have heard the boos but not the folk that supported him. I know you pay your money and all that but I would never boo one of our own personally. Team confidence needs building after the last few games and this will definately not help at all.

  17. It's always going to be hard to play against 12 men. I thought Craig Thomson's performance was flabbergasting; it was like different rules for each team. Their defenders were all over McKay and Shinnie without punishment, yet Celtic players were awarded fouls whenever one of our guys so much as breathed on them. From the moment Doran got blatantly tugged back on a counter-attack and he wouldn't even give a free-kick, let alone a yellow card, I knew there was no hope for us today. He was five yards away from Fraser's blatant handball and refused to give the penalty, and 90 seconds later Celtic scored. His decision to stop play for a Kayal 'injury' when we had an attack on was nothing short of scandalous - he signalled to everyone that there was a head knock, yet Kayal got up instantly when play stopped and had a knock to his thigh. In most countries, people like Thomson aren't even trusted to hold a pair of scissors - in Scotland we make them referees. I didn't think it was a poor performance from us today at all. Draper and Doran particularly stood out for me with excellent shifts, and our full backs both played very well. I don't know why Esson got the nod over Reguero; he looked a bit uncertain at times though I don't think he was at blame for any of the goals. The only big disappointment was Celtic's second, where we switched off after a corner was initially cleared and Gershon was virtually unchallenged as he headed home. I don't think it's unreasonable to claim that we have played well enough in the last four games to take something from each, and I just hope the players keep their heads held high because we will win plenty of games when we are playing as well as that.

  18. Yeah, but still in second place, which means we're doing better than every other team in the league bar the millionaires. That's better than teams that are spending massively more than us. We lost to Celtic - a team that cost millions to assemble, a team in which probably every single player has more talent that his opposite number - and I'm taking into account the reserve nature. Our nearest rivals are losing 2-0 to Kilmarnock. Still reasons to be optimistic here.

Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.
