  1. I think we need to shake things up as well. Esson Foran Draper Williams Polworth Shinnie Doran Brill Watkins McKay Warren My thinking is simple. Brill is brilliant (lol) so he should play in the Shinniesta role. Warren is a beast at giving the ball some beef in the air so he should go up front to partner McKay. Esson returns to goal because he seems like a funny guy and Foran and Draper can protect him by smashing anyone that comes near him. Williams and Shinnie will play the wing back roles because they are fast with Polworth protecting the two CBs and you always need to have a young local lad in the team otherwise it's a well known fact that your side is garbage. Doran remains wide right and Watkins should start because he looked amazing against Clach. Makes sense IMVHO.

  2. Not sure why such negativity about Nick Ross. He had an fair enough game. I don't think he actively took a dive as he was impeded although probably not a penalty

  3. Great result and good support today including one ex Caley rebel seen in the North stand with his grandson. It is never to late to come back!

  5. Because it wasn't Ross he wanted to take off! He just called him over to the touchline to give him instructions, but Nick carried on walking thinking it was him being hooked.

  6. A good performance, though I have seen us better this season! While Vincent seemed to be putting in a better shift this week as opposed to the last three games, I did think that we seemed to play better without him, with Ross down the middle and two out and out wingers on the field. Mckay was good once again and on another day could've had four or five, while I thought Ben Greenhalgh (who didn't look up to much the last time I saw him play against Celtic in a reserve match) was outstanding. Pace, distribution, work rate were all very good. Overall, a good win and a hundred times better performance than Tuesday night in Dundee!

  9. It would be good if the draw for the semi-finals was held at Easter Road shortly after that televised BBC game on the Wednesday. I say that in the hope we'll be through - I'd watch the Edinburgh derby with anticipation of the draw to follow! However, if we go out to Dundee United on the Tuesday, my interest in the cup will be nil, I won't watch the Hibs-Hearts game and they can hold the draw whenever the hell they like!

  10. What that tells me is that Brora are becoming a very professional outfit .....but £207 is a bit steep !

  11. It's another draw to decide the semis, bdu98196. That's when they also decide the neutral venues. Like Inverness v. Edinburgh club in...Edinburgh!

  13. 3pm draw on a Thursday afternoon. The SFA love to take the excitement out of these things.

  14. Why do people suggest making sweeping formation and personnel changes to a team that's top of the league? It isn't going to happen! Hopefully Foran and Warren are fit again and we can play the same formation again.

  15. Someone said to me last night, "What on earth happened to Craig Beattie?" Good question. Still in his 20's, he's resorted to playing for Dundee after failing to score for his last club, Barnet. Played for 10 clubs in the last 6 years since leaving Celtic. Yet back in 2007 he was scoring a vital last minute winning goal for Scotland, sparking wild celebrations in the Yngwie household. I remember this because I became a dad 9 months later!

  16. Vincent is a different player from Andy Shinnie, as every one recognises. However it is no coincidence we are defensively stronger this year, as Vincent has far more defensive awareness than Shinnie had, and as a result are not as open as last year. Aberdeen set their stall out yesterday to stop us playing, and it clearly worked. Given Aberdeen are being widely tipped to be second this year, it is testament to how far we have come, when one of the better teams respects us in this way. I agree that Billy was isolated yesterday, and we never looked threatening, but apart from one piece of quality it had 0-0 written all over it. I wish we could develop another way of playing, so we can change it when our playing style is being negated, but we have to remember we do extremely well given our resources, and maybe this is the restricting factor in being able to change the style we play. However, when put into context we have still got 16/21 points, and been to both Celtic Park and Pittodrie, an excellent return. Onwards and upwards

  17. The Caley board are traditionally soft touches in my opinion when it comes to transfer fees and exceptionally naive when it comes to renewing contracts. I could have told you that Andy Shinnie was going to be key last season. A new deal should have been sorted beforehand. 1 year extension. Might have got a bit of dosh for him or kept him a little longer. It just grates me 3 seasons in a row its been Rooney, Hayes, Shinnie and this season?

    • Inverness CT -V- Morton - Preview
Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.

    • Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

    • Inverness CT -V- Raith Rovers - Preview
The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!
