  1. That's actually better than I've seen us play for a while. Getting Devine and Welsh back at least allows round pegs in round holes. Squad is still way too light. Thought Doran had his best game in ages really unlucky with the shot that hit the crossbar, Shaw his best game for us. Chalmers transformed the game for them when he came on. I'll personally take that point with another weeks recovery time.

  2. With the exception of the Hamilton game, and I'm only talking about home games as those are the only ones I attend, we have played some decent stuff this season. A bit mystified why some posters think this is the worst ever team, it isn't by a long chalk, and when you consider the injuries we have, that's not a bad achievement. Against Arbroath and Ayr, we have played some good football despite what some on hear state, but mistakes have cost us dearly in both games. With just a small bit of luck, we would have had 6 points. We are not playing too badly in the games I have attended but really need a bit of luck to go for us.

  3. Well said Robert. I wonder if the perpetual moaners on this forum actually go to some of the games as their comments are well out of order and they would be better supporting the team and management rather than criticising every move.

  4. There's definitely been a shift in mood over the last few weeks. It's weird to think that so many people are unhappy given that we aren't that far off a play off position (at least). For me though I am very concerned about the performances of late and issues off the pitch. You could argue Dodds has some kind of get out with recent injuries but I feel we've been playing really poorly for a long time now even before we started losing players to injury. It's been a tough watch even with results being not too bad a month or so ago. But it's a hard push to say what we've seen is entertaining which is why a lot of people like to go to a game. Off the pitch rumours swirl about altercations in the dressing room, players wanting to leave, jobs for the boys, the concert fiasco...it's all a bit grim really.

  5. Two mistakes led to both Ayr goals so we were slightly unfortunate not to take 3 points. A better performance and two well taken goals from Shaw. Ayr full strength couldn't get a win. Agree Chalmers caused problems for us. Early signs we may be turning a corner...need to get round it and up the road a bit..

  6. Watching ICT so far this season, has been one devoid of any excitement. There have been previous seasons where we have been beaten, but put up a hell of a performance in the process, and I remember in one game, playing Hearts off the park and coming away with a point. But I can't think of one performance this season that has got me off my seat. We go to the matches now saying things like 'I'll take a point now', and that's what I feel for tomorrow's game, and I'm sure most supporters would think the same. When the chips are down, and our backs are against the wall, we have to set up to be hard to beat, be compact and not be so open. If we do manage to get ahead in this match, our game management must be so much better than it has been in previous games, because if they score first, there is no way we are scoring more than one going by our average goals per game ratio. So, I really really hope for a win, but I will take a point right now.

  9. I think we all approach it in hope rather than expectation, but it is time to show full support and encouragement to the 11 starters and whoever are on our bench (if anyone!).

  10. Not looking forward to it but going along to give my support to the team and hoping for a lot of luck, anything will be a bonus for us just now!

  11. I say, I'll take my Adidas Predators and tin of deep heat tomorrow and chip in if needed. No Shin Guards though. Eh what?

  12. How can people still support dodds... 3 points out of 18 is not good enough. He's keeps out of the lime light when we lose then shows his face when we draw. He's not playing our number 1 keeper and where is Austin Samuel's. Is it because they said things he doesn't want to hear? I for one have given up on him.

  13. A much better game against a cynical Ayr team. Fair result and pretty obvious that Carson is a more dynamic central midfielder than flying fullback. Gives us bite and tenacity that has been missing in recent weeks. Need to secure a win soon cannot afford a carbon copy of the winter run of last year

  14. Thought that was much better than last few weeks, but accept that would not be hard. Thought we had drive and desire today.Having Devine and Welsh back and playing Carson in midfield made all the difference.Doran was good and hit bar with a shot.Shaw looks a good buy.Their number 9 is known to be dangerous,he only needed a couple of mistakes and he made us pay.Imagine having a 6 foot number 9.Billy does a lot of running and works hard but he never wins these high balls when he is against any defender with height. We need to learn to pass the ball on the ground to him

  16. Ayr weren't great in their last game but they can score goals without playing well; a good skill for a team. So with that in mind if we defend well and take any chances we get then it could be closer than everyone is anticipating. Go forth and multiply...

  18. With all due respect this is not the time to be criticising Billy Dodds. I have done so this season and during the poor run last season. Stress levels at the club must be quite high currently and if ever there was a time for united support, it is tomorrow. The injury situation is unprecedented at the club. After Ayr we have two games that are not critical to our season - Stirling is important from a financial point of view but our need is to get more players back into the playing squad. The first of the double headers against Hamilton is definitely not important. We may lose to Ayr and Dundee but if we can get a lot of the injured back by the league game against Hamilton we still have a long season ahead of us. I am sure that the players who take the field against Ayr, Stirling and Dundee will believe they can get results against the odds............we've done it before when the support was superb.

  19. I didn’t see Saturday’s game and I may miss the start this week as delivering furniture for my mother in law, but we need a good crowd to get behind the players from as soon as they come out of the tunnel. Hopefully Section 94 are there in numbers and make themselves heard and the drummer is in the North Stand. Some players are low on confidence, so it is time to get behind them rather than being critical. If we have any of our casualties back, that is a bonus. Any word on Devine, Allardice, MacGregor, Mackay or Samuels? Some of them can make a real difference if available. Similarly, hopefully Delaney has recovered from his knock. If there has been something wrong behind the scenes, hopefully it is sorted by now. I know many are dissatisfied with Dodds, and justifiably so, but this league is still there for the taking if we can get back on track. However, this is close to a must win game, it is certainly a must not lose game, as we don’t want to be 9 points off the pace at this stage.

  20. 2 shots on target in 90 minutes is garbage. Clearly not enough to win a match let alone any hope of winning a league. Worst ICT team ever at present.

    • Inverness CT -V- Morton - Preview
Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.

    • Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

    • Inverness CT -V- Raith Rovers - Preview
The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!
