  1. Aye, exactly. Where were they all on Saturday afternoon ? :thumb04:
  2. I was sitting at the edge of Section G and not all the booing came from there by any means. However, it is completely and totally indefensible to boo our own players. Rory deserved much better than that. I thought we were a cut above the likes of Rangers boo boys who are giving Kenny Miller such a hard time just now. Get behind the team and the players and stop trying to undermine their confidence.
  3. One thing's certain - no ice cream made in Sneck has ever come close to Stratton's. Ice cream and singing - that's the way the Italians celebrate great footballing victories. Are ICT trying to follow suit and making a start with the ice cream van ? The victories might be put on hold for a while.
  4. Barrowman was posted absent in the second half. He must do better (and I'm sure he can do better) than yesterday's performance.
  5. Robbo was excellent as summariser, that must be said. Read the game really well.
  6. Pathetic performance in the first half although things did brighten up in the second but not by very much. Rooney the one bright spot in a dull and unimaginative team. Barrowman needs to get his act together and show as if he's interested - it's not the likes of Berwick Rangers he's up against now. Yet again - and we saw it plenty last season - our crossing and corner kicks were woeful. I've said it before - do they spend any time at all practising ? Does this side of the game not fit in with Brew's gym and pasta coaching approach ? Must do better.
  7. Well, Don Cowie for a kick-off and Roy McBain is also worthy of consideration.
  8. As usual, much overhyped by the media in general and the BBC in particular.
  9. Could be a cracking game on Saturday - glad I'm coming north for it.
  10. Yet again Caley Thistle players are overlooked.
  11. Aye, surely with our current squad we should get a decent run in this competition as long as we don't go out to a wee team we underestimate.
  12. Aye, Ross County have nurtured some good players in recent years and all credit to their youth development policy for that. Other teams could learn a great deal from them. However, shouldn't we be a little concerned at how relatively few Inverness young players have come through from the ICT youth teams. They are there but why aren't they being given a chance in the first team ? If we don't give them a chance they'll move on and we'll lose them for good. Come on Brew, give the youngsters a game !
  13. No better on Setanta. The BBC should remember its public service ethos. We're not being well served by its coverage of Caley Thistle games. We pay through the nose for the BBC's licence fee and the Setanta sub but are being treated with utter contempt by both. :thumb04: :018:
  14. Aye, too right - the Setanta coverage I just watched was rubbish. Showed more of Aberdeen's non-scoring moves and only the two Caley Thistle goals. Caley Thistle fans pay their subscriptions too and demand fair play. It might have escaped Setanta's notice but we're top of the SPL and not those two Glasgow diddy teams they're always fawning over. Must do better.....much better. :thumb04: :018:
  15. Well done boys. Listened to the game online and wore out the carpet pacing up and down at the end ! The Dons hoodoo well and truly laid - excellent start to our season.
  16. 1-0 to ICT. Scored by Andy Barrowman.
  17. Twenty years ago the P&J had a superb group of journalists based in Inverness - committed, knowledgeable first rate hacks. Then came the disastrous strike and the team was broken up and dispersed to various other local papers. The P&J has never really recovered since then. It has the pretence of being a Highland paper but let's be honest it's main resources are concentrated on Aberdeen and the Buchan coast. Far better sticking the the Courier, the club website and the forum for news of the club.
  18. Aye, Mike Edwards is spot-on with his article. We'd be far better off without Rangers and Celtic, mainly for all the hateful baggage that's attached to them. In fact, Scotland would be better off without them. :015: :thumb04: :018: ;)
  19. Aye, even Newsnight which is supposedly the BBC's flagship current affairs programme led with the Olympic boreathon which is really shocking. Just because the BBC is spending a small fortune sending its expense account junkie reporters and commentators to cover the Olympics they seem to think it's OK to ram it down our throats at every opportunity. Perhaps the BBC should have been spending a little of the licence fee on sending reporters and film crews out to South Ossetia and Georgia to cover the simmering conflict before it broke out into a real one and informing viewers which, after all is one of its functions. Well, allegedly is these days.
  20. Andy Barrowman will score twice in a 3-2 win for Caley Thistle to break our Dons hoodoo. Oh, Don Cowie will score the winner by the way.
  21. There's little doubt this is going to be a tough season for Caley Thistle and we shouldn't run away with the idea that our cushion against relegation is Hamilton Accies. A Gretna for the 2008/2009 season they certainly are not. Good luck to the team, the fans and the manager.
  22. It's a total mystery to me why Walter Smith won't give Boyd a decent run in the team and give him the opportunity to start more games. He always seems to have a bit more fight and will to win than some of the first team regulars.
  23. When you see some of the refereeing performances of recent years you have to wonder if they're worth paying ?80 per match never mind ?800.
  24. I'm due to buy mine when I'm up in Sneck for the Hamilton Accies match on 16 August, referees permitting of course.
